Eh, no thanks.
Writer Stephen Thompson speaks about his upcoming episode for Series 7: Part 2 in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine (#454 out today.)
He confirms the story is titled Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS and explains how the episode came to be: “My first meeting was last October. I went along with a pocketful of dream-episodes. (Still trying to work out a way to shoehorn the Krynoids in. Might yet happen.) This initial meeting is fairly predictable. Before I even open my mouth and pitch to the room, Steven goes ‘I want you to do x.’ And his idea is so wonderful, and so much more clever and interesting than anything mere mortals like myself could come up with, you end up saying ‘Yes’ and the meeting’s over in record time. Or at least the same time it took last year. And so it was. ‘Would you do one where we see the centre of the TARDIS?’ ‘Er, yeah. Okay.’ Conversation took nine seconds. And then I’m chained to a laptop on and off for the next six months, basically.”
“Actually Steven had two ancillary reasons for bringing that idea to the table. One: he admits to being haunted by The Invasion of Time – the story from 1978 set on board the TARDIS, where the sets were cobbled together at the last minute. Unfortunately a TV strike meant that studio sets were not built, and as a result our only glimpse of the TARDIS interior has been a disused hospital in Surrey with bin-bags stuck to the windows. Two: Steven knows; that I’m a pure mathematician and anything involving multi-dimensional geometry gets me excited. (There’s my geek credentials.) So – that was the brief. What’s in the middle? Plus the title. And then I’m sent off to fill in all the blanks.”
He adds: “[With The Curse of the Black Spot] my brief from Steven was very different – he said a lot of the [Series 6] episodes were dark and complex, and he needed me to write something light. This year got to indulge my inner fan. (And I got to ask my kids what rooms in the TARDIS they’ve always wanted to find.)
“This episode will be different in many ways, not least because the star won’t necessarily be the usual person. You might not even see the star, it might be the guy at the drawing board. It just might be the designer…”
Wow, he actually sounds like a good writer - he's just been trapped by Moffat into stuff that isn't as good as I could be.
cdlink14 might post about the game later; he/she's gonna be canary for the title, hopefully.
Point in case:
I'll probably post it on my very interesting blog and then link it here and in the dr.who thread.
Couldn't quite believe the writer of The Reichenbach Fall was also behind Curse of the Black Spot.

I always feared for that episode of Sherlock because it was written by that guy. But he did a totally bang up job on Reichenbach, so I guess he's improved a bit.
I hope he does this story justice, I've wanted it for so long

what hats does the Doctor have?
what hats does the Doctor have?
So far I've got:

Huh; never expected customisable hats in a Doctor Who game. Then again, considering the thing with the fez and Stetson, I probably should have...
Also it sounds a fair sight better than the Adventure Games were.
I'm not sure if they're customizable. But they're collectable. I see no options to wear or change a hat. It may be a second play through bonus or such.

i can't tell if the "so it couldn't be you" bit was a misdirect or serious
I love how they haven't tried to explain the Last Great Time War yet, and have kept it a mystery, making it more mysterious by briefly mentioning locations, people, races and events involved in this war.
It would probably ruin a lot if they tried to explain it in detail, all sci-fi needs a bit of mystery.
I mean, the Star Wars prequels tried to explain everything and they were horrible.

At Comic Con before his series aired Moffat said the same thing himself.
He knows what he's doing on a large scale. It's just he has no idea how to work on a smaller one at the same time.

Was it RTD who talked about the big mystery behind the Clone Wars turning out to just be a bunch of people in dark rooms talking, and then when he actually wrote the End of Time episodes and showed a small bit of the Time War, it was literally just a group of people, in a dark room, talking? :v:
No Moffat said it and then The End of Time aired and it was literally a group of people in a dark room talking. Which made RTD look awful in comparison.
David Tennant may be teasing a return for the 50th anniversary
Speaking to BBC Radio 1, he said: “I nearly said something I shouldn’t! … I don’t have an answer to this question. I keep being asked and I wish I had an answer. I’ve nothing to say. I don’t know and if I did have any involvement, I wouldn’t be able to talk about it anyway, would I? Probably not…”
In another interview with Red Carpet News: “I can’t imagine there even are going to be any anniversary celebrations, are there? …Look at my agent getting twitchy!”
Another "Three Doctors" style episode with Eccleston, Tennant and Smith would be spectacular
Especially seeing how the ninth and eleventh doctors would get along, since Eccleston is nearly old enough to be Smith's dad
The three New-Who doctors would be great.
But no Tom Baker would be a darn shame. And after they both had massive profile boosts it'd be a shame to miss out on Colin and Sly. And Paul was in it before so no need to miss him either. And it's unfair to leave Paul out then specially as he had such a crap shot at it in the TV movie.
Basically you either go for 'Just-Nu', all or nothing.
The Sixth Doctor, ladies and gentlemen!

Seriously. Colin is my favourite anyway, minus the fact he's a Doctor Who actor. He's honest, approachable, funny, and has the best pair of tits.
The speculation of Tennant returning is just... not very exciting to me any longer. With his army of clingy fans and weekly reports that he's probably coming back, it will be somewhat of a non-event for me. He's the most recent Doctor prior to Smith, so reports of older Doctors possibly returning would be much more exciting.
The clingy fans really aren't as clingy as they were a couple of years ago.
Tennant excites me the most. His mammoth popularity makes the 50th less a Doctor Who event and more into an unmissable TV event.
I just know the public and press will shit itself and that sorta buzz and excitement is going to be a lot of fun.

It just seems odd that they'd use an actress for one character, and use here again in the same series. Usually for television shows they'll keep an actor or actress off for a few seasons before having them return as a new character.
