Only just seen the new designs for them, i quite like them. What i don't like about them is the heads though, they look too thin and rounded. The older version looked more menacing. Other than that they look quite nice.
They need to actually be able to move faster than 1mph and not just pinch you to death.

For numerous reasons, I presume we're likely to find out one way or another if Jenna is actually going to be around for the 50th at some point soon. It's not going to be long before filming resumes. I don't envy the Who production team.
I think it'd be strange if they didn't have at least some sort of companion. Can't see them bringing back any of the old companions either, at least I hope not.

The old ones were sorta like zombies. They moved super slow and crushed your bones with their pure strength. Then you got made into one of them.
I don't know how they came up with the idea of making them into what is basically Daleks with legs. I don't mind the marching business, there is just no menace at all anymore. Their first two episodes were really good too.

I kinda hope we go into it without a companion. It's a lot of shit to deal with writing a companion into all that 50th shit aswell as all the other stuff. It's one more character we don't need. That said we DO need Captain Jack. He's a fucking massive part of the show now.

The older ones looked more like something designed by humans. It was like they were vaguely human-like still but obviously cold, emotionless cybernetic machines. The new ones look too alien to me.
The others seemed to be more about designing something that would do the job without caring too much about it's appearance, they were quite utilitarian. These new ones just have lots of rounded edges and random grooves and lines that serve no purpose. They look nice (other than the heads) but to me they just don't look so much like emotionless robots that were once humans but were upgraded in horrifying ways. They used to be quite dark, but now look a little silly to me. Maybe it will be different in watch the episodes though.

That's one thing that would have made the Daleks and Cybermen "balanced"; if Cybermen were slow, deliberate and almost indestructible, whilst not good at fighting at range, but Daleks were deadly at range and hard to escape from, but weren't as "durable" as they are portrayed as.
In other words, give Cybermen forcefields but make them shit with guns, and keep the Daleks as terrifying death tanks but take away their forcefields, or at least make it so their forcefields can run out or be disrupted.
Also I still want a sonic hologram for the screwdriver so the Doctor can swordfight with an "energy rapier" or at least set up forcefields to protect his friends.
