Yeah I've heard everything looks similar to the past. Specially theme music. I'm expecting a remix mixing all the themes together. [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] I've heard rumours flying all over the place that [sp]Patrick Troughton appears. On Wikipedia (no citation, totally unreliable) it said the Christmas Special will actually have an actor playing Troughton's Doctor.[/sp] I ignored it but now you've shown this I've become curious. [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] Starting to second guess that rumour I initially dismissed. The one that said [sp]a classic Doctor will appear in every episode[/sp]. It seems entirely possible now. That said in the case of Hartnell and Troughton appearing I'm imaging it'll be a CGI-makeup effect. Like how Arnie appeared in that last Terminator film without filming anything for it. Or how they made the holographic Mocambe and Wise for Children in Need. Simply get an actor and paste an Old Doctors face on top of the actors, excellent for a fleeting cameo.
[sp]I heard one of the last filming reports had somebody apparently wearing a Troughton style fur coat, plus a 'body double' for "The Doctor." Could be nothing. Could be something.[/sp]

What about good ol' Pertwee?
Moffat on Radio 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=BeCPC6b2nTE
What about good ol' Pertwee?
Sometimes if you squint a bit Matt Smith is Pertwee anyway. [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] I imagine when Matt prepares for the roll he thinks "I want to look like Jon Pertwee playing Patrick Troughton"
[sp]I want Amy and Rory back!!![/sp] Saw that episode a week ago and i'm still sad every time I think about Doctor Who now.
Since people were about to lynch me over not having seen this, decided to give the 2005 season a go. Well I'm hooked. First episode was so-so, then it just got better (peaked at the gasmask one, damn that was some television gourmet shit). Also love how the Doctor sometimes makes very far fetched reasonings, but sometimes misses the obvious ([sp]the panoramic wheel in the first episode, or the fact that Rose's father had to be hit by the car to fix everything[/sp]).
Forty-Nine years late to the party, what time do you call this? Nah, welcome aboard the TARDIS! For "The Snowmen" I have heard the new theme is more electronic...
Forty-Nine years late to the party, what time do you call this? Nah, welcome aboard the TARDIS! For "The Snowmen" I have heard the new theme is more electronic...
Wouldn't be such a thing as "late" with a TARDIS, would it? Though anyone else finding that the ones in the past (well, past for us in 2005 at least) are the best ones? Not that the future ones are bad, mind you. Too small a sample to draw conclusions though, there were what, 2 episodes set in the past? Probably the one with the gasmasks warping my judgement. [editline]17th December 2012[/editline] Oh and I want one of those sonic lockpicks for Christmas.
Rest assured that the man behind the gas masks is now the showrunner. Unfortunately, he's also the antichrist.
Especially interesting as [sp]the first/last time we saw the great intelligence was in a second doctor story[/sp]
Same thing happened with [sp]the Makra; they were in a 2nd Doctor story and were reintroduced as giant enemy crabs in S3E3 with the Undercity of New New York and the Motorway.[/sp]
"Winter is coming" Is that SUPPOSED to be a ASOIAF reference, or is it just a happy accident?
"Winter is coming" Is that SUPPOSED to be a ASOIAF reference, or is it just a happy accident?
It was mentioned as a deliberate reference in an interview a while ago, but whether there's anything else is anyone's guess.
Jenna is dating a Stark. Mystery solved. ^ for the TARDIS console, how he is supposed to run around the whole thing trying to fly something that was designed to be piloted by 5 Time Lords?
That center console really reminds me of the old TARDIS designs, can't wait to see all of it.
^ for the TARDIS console, how he is supposed to run around the whole thing trying to fly something that was designed to be piloted by 5 Time Lords?
6 Time Lords, one for every panel.

Okay, that's really starting to remind me of a certain fan Doctor Who story.

Don't post them here incase people don't want to see. [editline]19th December 2012[/editline] It's easier to enjoy Matt Smiths performance in a big Victorian outfit. Even the green coat. I'm starting to really hate the tweed basically.

This picture is also floating around, possibly from Gaiman's episode. Nothing spoiler-y: http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/8690/djomwhpsd.jpg Bonus pic:

Although there was that other photo of him and Jenna on the swingset with him in tweed wasn't there?

Impossible Planet/Satan Pit was amazing. Season 1 there was the gasmasks, season 2 this. Can I expect an amazing episode every season?
The Krop Tor two-parter was pretty cool.
