Starting to second guess that rumour I initially dismissed. The one that said [sp]a classic Doctor will appear in every episode[/sp]. It seems entirely possible now.
That said in the case of Hartnell and Troughton appearing I'm imaging it'll be a CGI-makeup effect. Like how Arnie appeared in that last Terminator film without filming anything for it. Or how they made the holographic Mocambe and Wise for Children in Need. Simply get an actor and paste an Old Doctors face on top of the actors, excellent for a fleeting cameo.[/QUOTE]

Each series has an absoloute outstanding episode apart from The Specials. Series 4 actually has a couple. Series 6 had a couple too.
The problem is people start to expect an outstanding episode every time and obviously that can't happen.

Same for all movies, series, fantasies and whatnot. It also would mean that there must be at least one Doctor who can travel into our universe. While at the same time there is one that stops him from doing just that.
You've probably got a better shot at building a TARDIS yourself though. Higher chance of that if you want time travelling adventures.

The Waters of Mars was really good, and the End of Time was pretty okay.
