I liked the episode but it wasn't my favourite, probably because the pacing was a little different. I knew we'd have another "River" style of story yet I got shot down for suggesting that :v:
New introduction and theme was very unexpected, I liked it but not the TARDIS doors opening at the end, eh.. might grow on me.
Also, it seems like "emotions" win again annoyingly. But hell, that "coming soon" preview looks bloody awesome.

I liked how the episode set up [sp]the great intelligence using the London Underground in the Web of Fear, as well as the little nod with the spider's web in front of Vastra on the gravestone[/sp]
Also series 7 part 2 trailer, woooooo :dance:
I would have loved it if the final shot in that trailer was Christopher and David stood looking rather angry and confused. Also, looking forward to see the Mondas Cybermen.
I'm not liking the whole Clara-Doctor dynamic though.

Anyway, this episode was 10 times better than last years.
I really liked this episode, especially the fact there wasn't a cop-out since they didn't save Clara.
Thought new TARDIS was cool, but I'm hoping they explain why it changed.

I think the lights flickered during [sp]the kiss[/sp] too.
This episode was proof you can have a decent Christmas episode without the power of love saving everything/everyone.
I think I may be missing the significance of the flickering lights thing. I noticed the candle but I didn't think it was important.

There were flickering lights/Lights suddenly turning off in all the episodes of Series 7 part 1 and people thought it was leading up to a big plan by the Angels, but that never happened. Maybe it'll be part of Part 2 as well?

I got the impression that actual Doctor Who fans were supposed to, and the big reveal thing was mainly for the people that watch it on Christmas, but never again (my family).
I really liked the episode. Not sure what I think of the titles, and I really don't like the TARDIS door transition thing. I liked Clara as well, interested to see what the actual deal is with her. Although I'd rather there wasn't a big deal and all OMG IMPOSSIBLE GIRL. Hopefully they are just different generations or something.

Also, the new opening and theme is pretty good, in my opinion.
The old and the new was gleefully mashed together by Moffat. Very good way to kick off the anniversary season IMO.
