I don't think many other companions have sung songs that are still played on the radio today

I'm not sure why it was being played on the radio a few days ago, but it was.
Rory was actually older than the doctor. Mentally, anyway . So we have had a companion older!

People could get the wrong idea about Wilf.
Somebody stitched together the trailer caps for the old comedy peep-around.

Hm.
*series break*
Series Opener: Introduced to Clara 1.0
*series break*
Single Special: Introduced to Clara 2.0
*series break*
Series Opener: Introduced to Clara 3.0
Three debuts in three openers. Is that some kind of record?
Clara 2.0 was a mary sue because Moffat was rushing to try to make us care about her, and to be fair, I will admit that he set her up as a good companion, even if the kissing and the fact that he immediately gave her the key so that we can know that SHE'S THE ONE was bullshit.
As long as Oswin 3.0 gets some flaws, and she doesn't say DOCTOR WHO then I'll be happy.
And no more villains like zombie whatever Grumpy's name was.
Seriously, everybody had a speech prepared in that episode.
The next time someone says "Doctor who?", the Doctor should just flip out and be all "would people please stop asking me that!" or something.

Although when he's dancing around, shouting it himself... we're probably beyond that.
Rose was "the one" for 2 and a half series, yet she didn't get a key, hell, she had to pry open the fucking door with a goddamn yellow truck.
Actually, that was Mickey, but the point stands that they had to break into the TARDIS.

That never happened, she pried open the TARDIS console not the doors. She got a key in in like the 5th episode.
Hey guys I did something

To me, she was annoying.
Just like Rose.

The Doctor makes a terrible Yorkshireman.
Also it's good to see John Simm back on the telly. He's one of my favourite actors that hardly ever appears in anything.
I didn't expect to say this so soon after Series River Song. I mean, Series Six. But I will actually be glad to have some kind of 'serial' feel back for the second half of the series. Sure, go for the big and fancy looking episodes... but the first half was just a random bunch of disconnected stories. Some great. Some not so great. Mostly enjoyable. But disconnected.
I bet the Doctor's gonna be like "lol I just won't go to the fields of Trenzalore" but then he'll accidentally end up there (a 'la Stavromuler Beta in HHG2G) or be forced to go there to save someone, most likely a companion or someone related to the companion.
Wilf is sort of innocent and full of wonder, so even though he's about 80 he might be good.
It might be a challenge for the writers finding ways Wilf could help the doctor in a fight though, since he's not physically strong or exceptionally quick witted
i'd hate to see wilf turned into a trainwreck like every other companion. wilf is already pretty sore about the whole [sp]donna getting her brain fucked up[/sp] thing, being a full time companion would probably kill him.
yeah but martha is doing fine and rose is off somewhere fucking that human doctor
yeah but martha is doing fine and rose is off somewhere fucking that human doctor
Martha married a Tin Dog and Rose had to settle for an imitation Doctor. He's like Spam. Every one of the revival series companions got fucked except for the Pond/Williams.
but mickey is a cool guy and rose still gets to fuck the doctor just like she always wanted
Been watching a lot and got to the 5 post-S4 specials. Since we're talking companions:
Donna wasn't bad, and quite useful sometimes, but not much eye candy. Rose probably is the one I got most attached to just by the sheer number of times she appeared. Martha was fine too, nothing special though.
Still think Jack was the best though, even if he wasn't an actual companion for long (sure no eye candy but fuck that he made up for it in other ways). I'd assume gay people had the bonus of having him to look at too, so I guess they were extra happy.

Though Blink wasn't all that good as people said (saw plenty I preferred). Probably a bit too short, should have been a two-parter.
Somebody matched up what they think are the nods to previous sequences:
I took a screen of the new sequence and colored it blue just to compare...

Yeah I agree but Moffat said part 2 will only have a 'loose' story arc. So I imagine the entire Clara thing is going to be mostly dropped till the last episode.

PS
THE NEW SEQUENCE IS AWESOME. THere's a bit from every previous intro sequence. From the 'misty' effect in the 60's to Pertwees colour scheme and vortex at the end.
Awesome.

Also seen this online, not sure if you all have. But Clara Oswalds was born on November 23rd; killed twice but keeps coming back.
Just like the show itself.
[editline]29th December 2012[/editline]
Also her surname is Oswald. Her shipmate in the Dalek episode was Harvey. Lee Harvey Oswald. The man responsible for two things in history; killing President JFK and causing the news to overun by 8 seconds into Doctor Who the following day.
[editline]29th December 2012[/editline]
wait shit. Wasn't the 9th doctor at the JFK assassination according to Rose? And the Seventh Doctor?
What if ALL The Doctors were at the JFK assassination and the 50th anniversary is based around it D: Then at the conclusion of the episode Oswin is somehow created yet becomes a paradox (probably due to being created by more than 1 Doctor at once) and appears all across time yet the minute any of her incarnations attempt to reunite with The Doctor they are killed D:
WHAT IS GOING ON.

& killed aged 26, just like the show itself.
She also keeps reinventing herself. Like the show.
Oswin is the show guys.
