Unless every time he tries to quit Moffat invites him round to 'chat about this decision'. When Matt arrives Moffat beats the shit out of him with his big Scottish fists calling him horrible names. Each time this happens it ends with Moffat throwing his broken body down the stairs into the basement and before he shuts the door he shouts "THE DOCTOR FOREVER". He leaves him in the dark for a week before feeding him a nice large warm meal and doing it again until Matt changes his mind. He's done it so many times now that he only has to say the words "The Doctor forever" and Matt breaks into a cold sweat and begins searching the room for exits. Wouldn't that mean that Matt Smith would have Stockholm Syndrome with Moffat by now?
Moffat's scared that Matt will leave in case the BBC do a big crew shakeup for the new doctor and he gets the boot, so he's determined to make Matt the Doctor forever.

Hello, I have never watched a doctor who before but i'd like to get into it. Where do I begin?
Hello, I have never watched a doctor who before but i'd like to get into it. Where do I begin?
The 2005 reboot, at least that is what I was told.
Hello, I have never watched a doctor who before but i'd like to get into it. Where do I begin?
2005 reboot is what most people would tell you to do. Mainly because the Doctor Who writers love to do stuff that was in previous seasons, like Bad Wolf. prob don't know what Bad Wolf is though.

yep, 2005 reboot if you are watching on netflix, just look for doctor who and you're all set
So I'm pretty much power watching seasons 1-5, should I watch the specials or skip them and come back?
So I'm pretty much power watching seasons 1-5, should I watch the specials or skip them and come back?
uh trust me you get lost between 4/5 if you don't watch the specials
uh trust me you get lost between 4/5 if you don't watch the specials
I have only skipped the Christmas specials, any particular I should watch?
I have only skipped the Christmas specials, any particular I should watch?
The first Christmas special you should probably watch, it's kind of an important one, being the first episode that David Tennant's properly in. The second one you should watch as well. The others I don't think are particularly necessary, barring the most recent one. [editline]26th January 2013[/editline] And you should watch all of the specials that are set between series 4 and 5, the End of Time being especially important.
I'm already pretty deep into season two, should I really go back and watch the special with Tennant?
nope. they'll mention it here and there but it's not a fantastic episode and not really worth it by the way, good doctor who podcasts?
Just because they're specials doesn't mean they've not had the same amount of effort put into them, Doctor Who isn't like the other shows where the Special is a half-assed piece of filler you could skip. The first Christmas special shows everybody getting to know the new Doctor and shows why Harriet Brown is a fucking bitch evil prime-minister. Which is pretty damn useful later on. The second is where you meet the character of Donna which is pretty vital later on. The third is pretty good in my opinion. You meet Wilf here briefly and has Kylie Minogue playing a cool character. The fourth Christmas special is in my opinion pretty fucking naff (The Next Doctor). You could probably skip this one but I really wouldn't skip anything if I was watching a series. What's the point in skipping episodes. The specials after that are vital- they deal with the Tenth Doctors regeneration. Basically don't skip episodes? [editline]26th January 2013[/editline]
I'm already pretty deep into season two, should I really go back and watch the special with Tennant?
There's not much point now. That episode sorta shows how Rose deals with The Doctor's death and how her and her family begin to accept a new one. Also shows how The Doctor chooses his outfit and all the dangers of regeneration. Harriet Jones comes back as primeminister. The Doctor defeats the bad guys and makes them retreat, while they're running Harriet Jones orders Torchwood to blow them up. The Doctor gets pissed off and manages to says 4 words to one of her assistants that end up causing Harriet to get sacked. Torchwood come into play in the next series so that's kinda relevant. Also the Prime Minister that comes after Harriet is worse- way worse (think evil alien committing mass genocide worse). Harriet comes back a few seasons later having finally forgiven The Doctor and does something really nice to repay him for his help.
I want to see Judoon vs Daleks
Judoon vs Sontarans
Judoon vs Judoon
I didn't watch the specials after season 4, what are they called?!
I believe they're called The Next Doctor, Planet of the Dead, The Waters of Mars and The End of Time (P1 and 2). You should have watched them, there's some important stuff in there.

A kind viewer submitted my awful Silence-Arc trailer for Weird and Wonderful. Some great stuff on there this week, as ever: http://doctorwhotv.co.uk/doctor-who-weird-and-wonderful-94-44914.htm
I like this, it captures the essence of each doctor perfectly. It's amazing how wonderful a smile can be. [editline]27th January 2013[/editline] I wish we hit 35 and stopped ageing instead of getting younger. I firmly believe that one day science will find a way to stop the ageing process- species of tiger don't age after they hit adulthood. I just wish Tom Baker looked like that forever.
Why?
Y'all know the episode Amy's Choice? Shouldn't it really be called Rory's Choice?
He didn't make any choice. The Girl Who Waited should've been called Rory's choice.
When Chris Eccleston was the doctor, his personality was sort of comedy. He would always have to pull some jokes. David Tennant brought out the emotions. He lost 3 women in his time as the doctor Rose, Donna, Martha, and had to kill what he thought was the only other time lord, The Master. Matt Smith as the doctor kind of started off where David was, then went to a spiral depression where instead of following the rules of time he decided he can control the order of events because he is the last time lord, there is nobody above him to tell him no. He erased his name from everywhere, and he doesn't want to help anyone after he loses another Companion. 2 at that. Until of course the Christmas special that just aired awhile ago.
Y'all know the episode Amy's Choice? Shouldn't it really be called Rory's Choice?
Nah, I think the "choice" was her deciding what life she wanted: Happy and safe with Rory, or dangerous and exciting with The Doctor.
