Collected a few trackboy posts on GB over the past month or so. For Series 8 / Anniversary stuff. On anniversary special pre-titles: [sp]I'd imagine it will probably be a scene on Gallifrey. Probably someone and his granddaughter stealing a TARDIS... :)[/sp] On anniversary special expectations: A key element to all of this to remember is, is quality better than quantity. From stuff I've heard, people will not be disappointed. Sometimes to achieve something spectacular, concessions in other areas have to be made. If a special or specials are only a certain length that is not what people expected, the key issue is, will it/they contain all the right elements that mark the occasion accordingly. On Series Eight filming: [sp]I know series 8 definitely films this year. Whether it films prior to Aprils filming of the Anniversary special is anyone's guess. If it does, I suspect Matt Smith is around for another full series. I cant see the production team wanting a Smith departure announcement prior to the anniversary special, but obviously can't keep a new doctor filming a secret. I think series 7b will lead straight into the anniversary special, so perhaps it's either a couple of episodes after that before Xmas or none at all. Therefore if none air this year and Matt films the full 13 episodes, the show could keep him on air for a full year after he's actually left the show. Similar to what happened with David. [/sp] I would skip the speculation and just take all of the above as absolute fact - it has all worked a treat when it comes to trackboy for as long as I can recall......

The First Doctor could be a younger man, and Susan just a child, so you wouldn't have to worry about the actors not looking the same. Also, what's to say series 8 is definitely filming this year? Given how much stuff is going on this year, I'd have thought they'd do what they did with S7 again and film it Q1 2014, to air in the autumn.[/sp]
The Doctor, Susan, Ian and Barbara reunited for the filming of An Adventure in Time and Space: https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/149450_10151235486632031_785066012_n.jpg Original reference: http://www.doctorwholocations.net/photo/bbctelevisioncentre-filming-130203?s=promo-003&maxw=500 FYI, just as with Titanic.. until the BBC notice. She's really not got a problem with acting with her clothes off has she?
She's really not got a problem with acting with her clothes off has she?
Well, both this and Room at the Top were during the times she was struggling to get any work - I guess desperate times... though both are good productions. Dancing on the Edge Part 2 on now!
Well, both this and Room at the Top were during the times she was struggling to get any work - I guess desperate times... though both are good productions. Dancing on the Edge Part 2 on now!
I guess that's a fair point. I would've thought these were filmed more recently than Who though? These little dramas don't take long to film and edit compared to Who. Plus Who aired first. I'm guessing she's just pretty comfortable with it all. Looking forward to the GIFs and video highlight. I'm really too busy to watch the whole thing right now.
Both were filmed before Who. Dancing on the Edge was filmed exactly a year ago. Room at the Top filmed in 2010 - about half a year after her Waterloo Road stint. I'll skip episode 2 highlights for now, for reasons Cultbox highlights. More next week.
Doctor Who fans looking forward to more of Jenna-Lousie Coleman may feel a little short-changed this week as she remained in the background, working at the typewriter. However, her character of Rosie clearly has expectations and we also look forward to her role in the magazine’s greater success.

Looking at Twitter I'm not the only one who's considered this. Regarding [sp]casting for 12th Doctor[/sp] [sp]Anybody watch Casualty or Eastenders? Michael French recently left both (with no explanation why or what his next project is, which is unusual for such a popular character). Could this be related to the 12th Doctor shit flying around? He would make a great 12th Doctor, anybody agree?[/sp]
Terrible idea in my opinion. Completely unsuitable
But he's so good in everything he does :'( [editline]6th February 2013[/editline] In the 90's when Doctor Who was off air he stared as the lead role in a show that was commissioned to sort-of fill the space. He ran around acting like The Doctor with a police badge.
Jamie Glover (son of actors Julian Glover (The Crusade/City of Death) and Isla Blair (The King's Demons), possibly cast as Ian. Claudia Grant cast as Susan.
That Susan is frighteningly like Susan. [editline]6th February 2013[/editline] Ian isn't bad either. I take back what I said before about recasting actors for the 50th too.

You should've been able to open the little phone door and find the power switch in there.
For something that is Tardis related (plus it costs £400 just for the case) you can't fit much in it. No fucking "bigger on the inside" jokes :( [editline]6th February 2013[/editline]
dohohohoho Also, they missed a trick by making the light the power switch.
Why not just have Carol Anne Ford play herself? Yes,she looks older, but casting someone as somebody who's still alive is stupid.
The new Susan is represented by the agency run by William Hartnell's grand-daughter..
Forgot to mention this, I got a pretty cool phone case. [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BCb_9cVCAAA52Kl.jpg:large[/t]

Well, all booked in for Collectormania. Should be interesting.
I've done it a few times- it's good fun. Does it still take place in the MK stadium? Because it gets really windy in there and if it's raining too expect hell.
Yeah, I saved myself some time by booking in to the stadium hotel. Sigh, DWM:
OLD SCHOOL (comic strip) The Eleventh Doctor has the surprise of his lives, as he's reunited with Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright in Coal Hill School!
I feel we're being supplemented with a lot of fans wishes for the 50th, outside of the TV show. Also, we have An Unearthly Child's director cast:
Which one is playing the director? The guy on Mark's right? Also don't expect much time with Jenna, they usher you through quite quick. Plus nerves really slow you down more than you expect. You feel rude if you stay more than a second because their is always people behind you. You getting a photoshoot too?
I am indeed. I don't (and never) expect much, but it will just be a nice thing to do as there's no saying how many or few of these she will do. A day in the MK Dons wind tunnels might put her off forever. :v: I'm going to milk Series 7b for all it's worth, damn it.
Which one is playing the director? The guy on Mark's right?
Yep, the actor on Mark's right (Sacha Dhawan), and the man he's playing on Mark's left (Waris Hussein).
can you guys post photos when you go? i'd love to go too but im so busy with working now :(
Bah, I want to Live in the UK :P
Old Billy Hartnell is back. http://twitpic.com/c1fvcc Matt Smith is off to do a Hollywood film in May. Toby Whithouse calls time on Being Human. A change in our futures?
Look what i made, trying out this "psykopaint" thingy. EDIT: I made another one! Another one!
They're brilliant! Also, unconfirmed reports that Reece Shearsmith will be playing Patrick Troughton in the docudrama. Somebody also posted this on GB:
I just received a response from BBC complaints after I emailed with my concerns over the 'possible' underwhelming Anniversary year. "Thanks for your contact regarding 'Doctor Who' broadcast on BBC One. I understand that you are feel there are insufficient programmes planned to mark the 50th anniversary of the series. I also note that you are unhappy with the way in which series 7 has been split into two parts. Whilst I appreciate your concerns, we haven’t announced what we have planned to mark the 50th anniversary of 'Doctor Who' yet, but we would like to assure you that fans won’t be disappointed. Additionally, please note that the decision to schedule series 7 in two parts was a creative one and we’re sorry you are unhappy about this. Nevertheless, please be assured that I’ve registered your comments regarding this issue to our audience log. This is a daily report of audience feedback made available throughout the BBC, including to the producers of 'Doctor Who', as well as members of senior management.
About the series 7 pts. 1 and 2 thing, I get the feeling Moffat was done with Amy and Rory by the end of S6, but there were a couple of left over stories that they made a part 1 of S7, and the episodes with Clara are supposed to be the "real" S7 as it was supposed to be.
Now rumours (from apparently viable sources) that JLC has been contacted about Strictly Come Dancing. Both are run by the Beeb so they would have an idea about her availability. This would raise a number of points if true. 1) Clara is just an 8-episode companion in 7b. (Given the reception after two episodes, probably would turn out to be a disappointing move) 2) Doctor Who production doesn't resume until 2014 (No Christmas Special - as already implied by it's not appearing on BBC Worldwide's "2013 Schedule.") 3) Matt & Jenna both depart by the end of the year, with Moffat cleaning house for the next showrunner. 4) As with much reality show speculation, it's all nonsense. There's too much uncertainty with the show at the moment, it's not nice =(
Mixed feelings for Moffat. I like a lot of his stories but not how he runs the show and his episodes never seem to know if they're trying to be silly or serious. I'd like him to stick around as a writer just not showrunner. Jenna I can expect to leave. I feel Moffat has a story written for her with an end. A girl that keeps dying is pretty much destined to not stay around. Matt as we discussed is incredibly likely. [editline]8th February 2013[/editline]
They're brilliant! Somebody also posted this on GB:
Honestly what sort of person emails the BBC with a complaint about something they nothing about yet. If it got to September and we knew nothing I'd be worried. But seriously? Just wait and see what's happening, you can't change anything that is going to happen. Gallifrey Base annoys me. [editline]8th February 2013[/editline] Any forum based on a single subject annoys me. 'Fans' are never impressed and think because they have a voice they should ALWAYS be listened too. It stops being discussion and becomes demands and criticism.
