1) Clara is just an 8-episode companion in 7b. (Given the reception after two episodes, probably would turn out to be a disappointing move)
Clara is basically her description of the soufflé: too beautiful to live. Although if Matt is going at the end of the year, it'd be nice to see Clara continuing on for a bit with Doctor 12. I always enjoy seeing how companions deal with regenerations.

How can people find a way to shove ponies into every thing I like? I don't hate the people that like the show, heck, I don't even hate the show, I just hate how you can't take three steps without seeing a pony every place you go.
Guess what? Somebody decided to contact the BBC about Matt Smith being in that film, also.
"As in previous years Matt is taking advantage of a gap in the Doctor Who production schedule to take on another project. It’s the 50th year of Doctor Who and Matt is committed to the show. He will be around for a while yet.”
Also, Jamie Glover confirmed as William Russell / Ian. Jemma Powell confirmed as Jacqueline Hill \ Barbara. We have our first TARDIS team! Glover reminds me of Jeff from Community in that picture... :v: We can probably expect some new content in the weeks ahead. Even if it's the next movie-style poster. After all, Doctor Who is back next month!
Glover reminds me of Jeff from Community in that picture... :v:
Now I keep picturing the Community characters as companions...

I think a big reason why there are ponies, ponies everywhere, is because the teen-adult fanbase is creative, insane, and psychologically vulnerable. The latter likely being why they like it so much; they let it get into their heads and overwhelm their sensibilities. However, that shit got into my head, but I wasn't overwhelmed and bronified like the others; in fact my mind is actually fighting against the infection, trying to keep it out of my preferences with the visceral fervour of a Commissar. What is it that separates me from the rest of the infected, and blocks out some of the symptoms? Equine mental infections aside, have they announced when the next Doctor Who episode is gonna be yet? I assume some time in March or April, right?
Just caught up on Torchwood. Holy shit Season 4 was brutal! But I fucking love Captain Jack Harkness, that dude is a badass.

I just started watching Doctor Who (the 2005 one, noticed it on Netflix and gave it a shot.) Just one question. Why the hell didn't I watch this sooner?

It's more like TF2 characters playing out scenes from movies, TV shows, animes, dressed up as the characters, skins, whatever. Even with that, most of the times those GMod and SFM videos don't get such a wide recognition. You don't see them everywhere unless you specifically look for it. And I think that the Team Fortress 2 characters are not that intrusive, especially when compared to the ponies.
I think a big reason why there are ponies, ponies everywhere, is because the teen-adult fanbase is creative, insane, and psychologically vulnerable. What is it that separates me from the rest of the infected, and blocks out some of the symptoms?
I suppose what separates a fan like you from a rabid fan is how much a rabid fan is willing to go to get someone else to see a pony. I think an example would be: if you're a Doctor Who fan, and see something remotely related to Doctor Who, most chances are that you would go "heh" and move on. But a rabid fan, at least how I see them, will go "OMG PONIES DID YOU KNOW RAINBOW DASH LIKES TO CARTFLIP YOU MUST LIKE PONIES TOO WABABAWABABWABA" with no regards for how the other person must feel to have such intrusive characters popping up in his fandom. Heck, the Looney Tunes are less intrusive than the ponies, and these guys practically defined cartoon comedy.
So basically it's because I don't have the mental rabies. Neat; it's never a good thing to have rabies of any kind, let alone the kind that sticks in your head. I don't froth at the mouth about things I like, which makes me a superior intellect to those who rabidly fascinate over things. Some guy once said "It's ok to not like things, but don't be a dick about it"; here the flipside can also apply, "It's ok to like things, but don't be rabid about them." I'll admit, that was kinda hard to swallow as a concept, but so long as they don't flick their rabid ponyspittle over my monitor like they were halfway through brushing their teeth, they can slobber and fester and clop all they damn well please; just don't do it around me or I'll end up putting on my Commissar hat again and strap a Chainsword to my Bolter.
That doesn't make you of a superior intellect, though, that just makes you a more reasonable and respectable fan. If you want people to respect the thing you like, don't act like a dick when people don't want to hear about it.

6th episode of Season 1 (2005) is just awesome.

Well just finished all of the 2005 reboot, just in time really.
6th episode of Season 1 (2005) is just awesome.
Exterminate!
It's interesting we always call it a "2005 reboot" when it's technically not a reboot. It's a continuation. Imagine how easy it would've been for the BBC to go "Right let's start it again". Glad they didn't. [editline]9th February 2013[/editline]
Also, Jamie Glover confirmed as William Russell / Ian. Jemma Powell confirmed as Jacqueline Hill \ Barbara. Forget Arrow, I want to see these two together in DW at least once.
I was at the bfi today and it should be noted this was not something Moffat said in relation to a direct question on the topic. He was there to introduce Tomb of the Cybermen and was talking about the story and why he and Matt rated it so highly, telling the rather charming story of Matt ringing him up to rave about how much he loved Troughton and how he knew from then on the bow tie was inevitable. He remarked light heartedly that Matt was off to make a film but that he would be back, he said it a couple of times actually.
2013 Christmas Special was also mentioned, apparently.
Delia Derbyshire has been cast!

Fun fact: All the actors cast so far are actually genetic clones of the originals and raised with new identities for the purpose of filming this docu-drama. This has been decades in the planning. Even involved some time travel. Totally true fact right there.
EDIT: Trackboy, while discussing the possibility of an anniversary lead-in at the end of Series 7: [sp]'Yes, more so than you can possibly imagine.'[/sp]
Lending to the [sp]every Doctor appears in a Series 7 episode rumour[/sp]? I remember in the first episode of Series 4 how my mind was totally blown when we saw Rose. Something like that (but not Rose) would be great.
Caroline Skinner has FINALLY confirmed the Ice Warriors for Series 7. First reported by the Daily Star in June 2012.
first reported by the Daily Star in 2006 and every year since.
This time they managed to nail down the specific episode :v: ETA: Oh God. Oh God. Prepare yourselves for CGI flying in to the camera, many many times.
The Doctor Who 50th anniversary special is to be filmed in 3D. The first solid details regarding the BBC sci-fi drama's celebratory episode - marking 50 years since the show began in November 1963 - emerged tonight (February 11). Confirming the news, BBC One's official Twitter account wrote: "As part of the 50th Doctor Who celebrations, we'll be broadcasting the Time Lord and his TARDIS in 3D for the first time!" Steven Moffat, Who's lead writer and executive producer, said: "It's about time. Technology has finally caught up with Doctor Who and your television is now bigger on the inside. A whole new dimension of adventure for the Doctor to explore."

Stephenson revealed details of the 50th-anniversary show along with a new drama slate that will include a new BBC1 Saturday teatime fantasy adventure, Atlantis. "It's a nationwide celebration of both Doctor Who and the BBC because I think they are so synonymous. We will be doing a big Doctor Who special in 3D which is very exciting and feels very innovative," he said. "We will be doing it on cinema screens as well. We are working out the logistics of that at the moment because we need to make sure the main BBC1 experience remains absolute value for money for the audience." There has been no shortage of speculation about the content of the 50th-birthday show, and whether it will see a reunion of previous doctors. Tom Baker memorably declined to appear in the 20th-anniversary special, the Five Doctors, and three of the 11 actors to have played the role are now dead. Moffat is still working on the script for the show which will be filmed, like most of the series, in south Wales, and will follow an eight-part run of Doctor Who. Stephenson said: "There will be lots of aliens and daleks and things like that – or maybe there won't. There are many different things to take into account and we will also have a Christmas special after that and it all connects. Or maybe it doesn't. There's lots to work out. "It's that thing of, how do you make individual programmes more than the sum of their parts? The Doctor Who 50th is a bit like when we did EastEnders' 25th; it is more than just a programme, we have all had a relationship to it. "Ninety per cent of the British public know about Doctor Who and have a personal connection to it. Most people have their own Doctor Who. It's drawing on that nostalgia to say something bigger about the BBC and its values." The BBC will also mark the event with a BBC2 drama about the beginnings of the show, An Adventure in Space and Time, scripted by Mark Gattis and featuring David Bradley as the late Hartnell. The BBC is no stranger to the big screen through its film-making arm, BBC Films, but it is unusual if not unprecedented for TV shows to be given a cinema release – natural history epic The Blue Planet among them. It is not the first BBC drama to be filmed in 3D – that honour goes to its Christmas adaptation of David Walliams' children's book, Mr Stink – but it will be the biggest, said Stephenson.
Jesus fuck I love tricking pornhub users into thinking I'm another desperate individual. The ending was relevant to this thread so...
