What was wrong with it? I wouldn't want every episode to be like it, but it was unique and a nice change in pace.
If Episode 2 is like [sp]Jurassic Park on a spaceship[/sp], i'd be ok with it.
Umm, I've forgotten, when does this series start?
noone knows yet but it's pretty soon
Ohhh, ok. I was actually kind of worried I had missed a few episodes.
Ohhh, ok. I was actually kind of worried I had missed a few episodes.
when that happens the thread explodes with a hundred new posts so it'd be pretty obvious also this thread series is the longest-lived and most posted-in in the whole of the film and television section time for celebration

Goddammit why does this show make me cry so much.
Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee were, and will always be the best Doctors ever.
EW Cover - A first for British TV:

Plus, Moffat's sort-of hints for the remaining episodes: From Doctor Who Magazine 1. Asylum of the Daleks – Shot, picture-locked. Music and SFX being added. Moffat teases: “I’ve just seen the new… never mind.” 2. Dinosaurs in Space – Shot, picture-locked. Moffat says you will gasp at the special effects. 3. A Town Called Mercy – Shot, picture-locked. About to be time dubbed. 4. Shot (bar a few pick-up scenes), still to be edited. Moffat describes it as “Unusual” and it contains, “One of the best and most touching scenes ever we’ve shot.” 5. Shot, picture-locked. Murray Gold may “kill you”. Christmas Special – Moffat’s handed in the 5th draft of the script and semi-jokes they’ll be 20 more. Saul Metzstein will be directing this one as well. 6. To be written by Moffat. He’s finished 22 pages of it, so far. 7. 10 pages complete, from another writer. 8. Shot and being cut. Presumably, Mark Gatiss’ first script of the series. Moffat says the sets are amazing and teases: “Prepare to shiver in terror and gasp along the lines of ‘Oh my goodness, is that a…?’” 9. Shot and nearly picture locked. From a new writer. Presumably it’s Neil Cross‘ episode and it has been shuffled. 10. Mark Gatiss’ second episode of the series. Moffat says it’s “Insane.” Directed by Saul Metzstein. 11. No details other than, “Fourth draft.” 12. Two-thirds complete on a writer’s computer in a “distant land”. 13. Finale – Moffat appears to be writing the big one (surprise), but hasn’t got very far yet.
gasp at the special effects, so it will be Jurassic park in space
Rory: Doctor, is that a Velociraptor? Doctor: No Rory, it's a completely different dinosaur. Where did you get your dinosaur knowledge from; Jurassic Park? Amy: Whatever it is, it's not happy. That's how I imagine it'd go down.
velociraptors have feathers silly
Yep, that they do; whatever the JP velociraptors are, they ain't real velociraptors.
I bought the Doctor Who Series 3 and 4 Boxsets and I'm having a problem. When I put it on my TV the resolution stays at 720x480 and I cannot change it no matter what I try to do. When I watch the televised TV episodes, the resolution is full and good quality, so how could I raise the resolution of it?
I thought this was pretty okay, apart from the vortex which needs work.. TITLE: Doctor Who opening titles / intro 2012 /13 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73DdgVZ9AcU&hd=1 ETA: Embedding Disabled
Is that George Sunday who plays the cat guy in the New Earth car jacking one?
And now spiderman in the next episode.

Especially where Matt and Jenna fade in and out.
Tom Baker is actually a fine actor. He takes this awful dialogue and makes it work. [editline]27th July 2012[/editline]
And now spiderman in the next episode.
Yep. Andrew Garfield is good mates with Matt Smith too. He's been saying in his interviews for Spiderman how proud he is of Matt and how honoured he was to be in Doctor Who.
Big rumours flying around saying Daniel Craig is the final torch runner in character as James Bond. Just a rumour though. I'd like David Tennant in character as The Doctor so it's loyal.
I must be the only Doctor Who fan who doesn't want that. In other news, the BBC One Drama Showreel has been released. Doctor Who (and Merlin) don't feature.
Apparently along with the rest of series 7 airing in 2013 there will also be 14 Blockbuster Cinematic 50th Anniversary episodes. [sp]Episode 1: Written by Steven Moffat. Directed by Nick Hurran. Moffat originally stated the first episode will be a bit like the movie Die Hard. Part-set in Ancient China with The Doctor is given a task to complete by the Chinese Emperor. According to Caroline Skinner, it will feature “Every Dalek known to man.” Guest starring: David Gyasi (Harvey) Episode 2: Written by Chris Chibnall. Directed by Saul Metzstein. The story will supposedly see the Doctor, Amy and Rory land on a spaceship inhabited by prehistoric monsters. Chibnall’s first of two stories is said to contain one of the biggest sets Doctor Who has ever had (although Moffat’s opener later surpassed it). Part of the story appears to be set in Ancient Egypt and also features Queen Nefertiti, Rory’s dad, and robots. Guest starring: Mark Williams (Brian Williams), David Bradley (Solomon), Rupert Graves (Riddell), Riann Steele (Queen Nefertiti), Rudi Dharmalingam (ISA Worker). Episode 3: Written by Toby Whithouse. Directed by Saul Metzstein Whithouse’s latest episode takes place in America’s old west, where the Doctor will face a cyborg called the Reckoner. Filming took place in Almeria, Spain. Guest starring: Ben Browder (Sheriff), Adrian Scarborough (Kahler Jax), Dominic Kemp (Kahler-Mas), Garrick Hagon, Rob Cavazos (Walter), Andrew Brooke (The Reckoner) and Joanne McQuinn (Sadie). Episode 4: Written by Chris Chibnall. Directed by Douglas Mackinnon. The Doctor investigates mysterious black cubes that have fallen to modern day earth. These cubes cause illness on unsuspecting victims, including the Doctor. UNIT return along with a character called Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) who may be the late Brigadier’s daughter. An Ood was also spotted on set, though this may have been for a DVD mini-episode. Guest starring: Mark Williams (Brian Williams), Kate Stewart (Jemma Redgrave), Steven Berkoff (Mr Shanks), Selva Rasalingam (Ranjit), Barnaby Edwards (Hooded figure) Episode 5: Written by Steven Moffat. Directed by Nick Hurran. Amy and Rory’s last ever episode and will also feature the return of River Song. The story will take place in 30s New York with filming on location. They will face the Weeping Angels for a “final encounter.” Karen Gillan said that Amy dying is a possibility. Moffat has promised a “heartbreaking” end and “Not everybody gets out alive – and I mean it this time!” Filming reports: Central Park, More Central Park, Tudor City, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Big Rory Spoilers, Cemetery Set Report (Big spoilers) Guest starring: Alex Kingston (River), Michael McShane (Dr Grayle), Rob David (Sam Garner), Bentley Kalu (Sophisticated Hood). Episode Christmas: Introduction of the new companion. “The Doctor is going to meet someone very new in the very last place he could ever have expected…” Episode 6, 7 or 8: Written by Mark Gatiss. Directed by Douglas Mackinnon Possible deep sea adventure set on a submarine. According to The Daily Star, the Ice warriors will return. Guest Starring: Josh O’Connor (Piotr), James Norton (Onejin), David Warner, Liam Cunningham Episode 9: Written by Mark Gatiss. Directed by Saul Metzstein Gatiss revealed his episode contains the words ‘meat’, ‘klaxon’ and ‘Vienna’. The episode is set (or at least part-set) in a strange 19th century village called Sweetville. The Doctor investigates when people start going missing in a factory that is run by the mysterious Winifred Gillyflower (Diana Rigg). Also features the return of Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax from A Good Man Goes To War. Guest starring Diana Rigg (Winifred Gillyflower), Rachael Stirling, Brendan Patricks (Edmund/Jeremiah), Neve McIntosh (Madame Vastra), Catrin Stewart (Jenny), Dan Starkey (Strax) Episode 11: Written By Neil Cross. Directed by Jamie Payne Guest star Jessica Raine’s CV stated the story title is Phantoms of the Hex, while a removed Wikipedia edit claimed it was The Hider in the House, but as Wikipedia can be edited by anyone, it is not exactly a trustworthy source. The story appears to be a historical, possibly Victorian-era. The Doctor has a wardrobe change, wearing a brown jacket with waistcoat underneath. Guest starring: Dougray Scott (Professor), Kemi-Bo Jacobs (Hila Tacorian), Jessica Raine (Emma Grayling) [/sp] Rory [sp] Goes in the nicest way possible compared to previous ones. [/sp] Apparently
A whole series of anniversary episodes is the only way to do it.
Holy hell. 14 Anniversary episodes?! yes. yes YES
