I'll play the optimist and say that all five episodes should prove enjoyable. I know that's holding out some hope for Chibnall...
Nah, I agree with Dan. Two and three look like they kind of started as "funny" ideas the writers came up with and then just wrote a basic, throwaway episode around, whereas the others look like good ideas that the writers actually put a good deal of thought into. I'm particularly interested in the "Power of Three" episode, since I can't actually remember if there's been any info posted about it or not, and I don't really know anything about it. And I'm kinda hoping it stays that way for a bit.
I'm looking forward to seeing those statues again because that episode in season 3(?) is one of my favorites so far.

I reckon 2 and 4 will be shit, since they have the same awful writer, but the rest will be great.

Who did he sleep with!? [editline]30th August 2012[/editline] I thought 42 was really cool and despite having some awful design, the Silurian 2-parter was great too. His stories are tense and usually put The Doctor in moral dilemmas. Plus his Pond Life has been pretty fun so far if terribly short.
Watching back Matts first series and his look and performance has changed a lot since his first episode. It's very good.
"power of 3" means cubing something, and this is a show about time travel, so obviously the episode is about how earth has 4-corner simultaneous 4-day time cube in one 24-hour rotation
Aren't you secretly RTD?
Of course not, RTD's series 3 and 4 stuff was pretty bad, series 1 and 2 however were excellent IMO.
haha the end made me laugh
I like 1, 3 and 4 the most. I don't like much of 2, it's alright. But the 3 finale and 4 TARDIS-duo is some of my favourite stuff.

Not as good as series 1 since that had simon pegg as the editor and the pretty damn awesome finally, but still really good.

The new series is so close I can almost smell it. ... What time is it on again? :v:
The new series is so close I can almost smell it. ... What time is it on again? :v:
7:20pm Episode one clips Episode two will air at 7:35pm Synopsis: [sp] An unmanned spaceship hurtles towards certain destruction – unless the Doctor can save it, and its impossible cargo… of dinosaurs! By his side a ragtag gang of adventurers; a big game hunter, an Egyptian Queen and a surprised member of the Pond family. But little does the Doctor know there is someone else onboard who will stop at nothing to keep hold of his precious, prehistoric cargo. Guest starring: Rupert Graves (Riddell); Mark Williams (Brian Williams); David Bradley (Solomon); Riann Steele (Queen Nefertiti); Sunetra Sarker (Indira); Noel Byrne (Robot 1); Richard Garaghty (Robot 2); Richard Hope (Bleytal) and Rudi Dharmalingam (ISA Worker).[/sp] Episode 1 -3 quotes: [sp]Asylum of the Daleks According to legend, somewhere in the universe, hidden away, the Daleks have a dumping ground. An entire planet where they lock up the Daleks that go wrong. The battle-scarred. The insane. The Daleks in the Asylum are lost in rage. They despise all things, even themselves… Dalek Prime Minister: “Does it surprise you to know the Daleks have a concept of beauty?” The Doctor: “I thought you’d run out of ways to make me sick, but hello again! You think hatred is beautiful?” Dalek Prime Minister: “Perhaps that’s why we’ve never been able to kill you.” Dinosaurs on a Spaceship 2367 AD. A spaceship the size of Canada is on a collision course with the Earth. Oh, and there’s dinosaurs on board… Brian: “Sorry. Sorry. Are you saying dinosaurs are flying a spaceship?“ The Doctor: “Brian, please! That would be ridiculous. They’re probably just passengers. Did I mention missiles?“ Brian: “Missiles?!” A Town Called Mercy When the Doctor, Amy and Rory arrive in a town called Mercy, in the American Old West, the Gunslinger is watching – and the Doctor is next on his hit list… Jex: “Looking at you, Doctor, is like looking into a mirror. Almost. There’s rage there, like me. Guilt, like me. Solitude. Everything but the nerve to do what needs to be done. Thank the Gods my people weren’t relying on you to save them…” The Doctor: “No. But these people are.” Other bits: There is one scene in Asylum of the Daleks where the Doctor is trapped outside and begging for someone to open the door as insane Daleks advance on him. Amy and Rory know themselves a lot better than before. The Asylum is a bit like an outer-space concentration camp – but a lot worse… Riddell is Edwardian Rory and Brian don’t really understand each other at the beginning. Amy references a certain 1993 Spielberg flick – “Jurassic Park all-nighter at Leadworth Cineworld,” she tells Riddell adding, “It’s a wonder I ever married that man,” to which Riddell replies, “I have no idea what you just said.” There’s a crucial scene in A Town Called Mercy – you’ll know it when you see it – which is particularly crucial, and shows the Doctor in an entirely new light… [On a Town Called Mercy] The Doctor dons his Stetson, Amy goes for her gun and Rory tries to keep them both out of trouble. But the time-travelling trio aren’t the only strangers newly arrived into town…[/sp]

Especially after the, y'know, 2000 year waiting as a plastic soldier thing... I'm calling alternate universe/not actually Amy[/sp]
I'm calling it life after it being fully trashed by The Doctor
I find [sp]it VERY hard to believe that they would get a divorce. Especially after the, y'know, 2000 year waiting as a plastic soldier thing... I'm calling alternate universe/not actually Amy[/sp]
people change, also unless you're not human or plastic doesn't matter who you are you fall out of love with anyone it's just a matter of time, what matters in the later years with your spouse is getting along with them even though you don't have the flame that you once had in the beginning. But that's fact and not tv. I can imagine the fan fict coming out of this; amy, "doctor, I'm single now" doctor, "I'm married.... to your daughter!" it has hilarious potential and it doesn't even have to be rule 34 material.
Slightly topical, but I've just started watching Life on Mars (thanks to Netflix), and it is a very, very good show. As I'm sure most of you already know, having seen it a good few years before. I started today and I'm up to episode 6 already. Hearing John Simm speak in a northern accent is just slightly less odd for me than hearing David Tennant speak in his natural Scottish accent :v:
A Town Called Mercy sounds like it'll be my favourite episode. What's that, a sci-fi shoot-out with tall dark strangers, a man with a time-travel machine and his side-kicks? Yes.
