Was alex day the guy who won the competition and went around touring the set, or was that someone else?
The ancestor idea doesn't make sense, because that's a story you tell your kids who tell their kids etc. Oswin didn't recognize the name. [editline]1st September 2012[/editline] All I ask is that when she comes back, she keeps her "l33t haxx0r" skills. That would be interesting to see a more active companion

The Doctor never saw what Oswin looked like in the dream world, so its a bit insignificant to the plot either way in my opinion. The human Oswin was a character in a dream that only the dalek Oswin accessed. if Moffat is able to find a way to bring that in, I'd be surprised.
I was watching the doctor who 40th anniversary last night, and I was shocked that the Sixth doctor (The one in the rainbow suit) was a bad actor for Doctor Who. And that Michael Grade shut doctor who off the air since he didn't like it even tho he says it wasn't because of it. Not to mention that when he started it again, he canned the 6th doctor actor, and force a regeneration, very interesting stuff along with the Cybermen, how they screwed the helmet onto the suit when the actor was inside. I can't wait for the 50th anniversary. Oh and I was reading the Doctor Who Lost tapes in Australia wikipedia page, and saw a line that said something like "If you have a lost episode either destroy it or return it to BBC/ABC". I was shocked they would even mention about destroying a lost episode.
Tbh my thoughts of the new episode weren't as flattering as they could have been. I can only grudgling accept that it was good enough to keep me invested, but it wasn't good enough to make me super excited. I'm not too hyped but I am looking forward to it.

Colin Baker can be quite tough on Twitter and at conventions but his Doctor never deserved that level of hate or to be fired.
David Bradley can never be anyone except Argus Filch to me.
In seriousness, regarding the Twist. People on Facebook insist they saw it coming. [sp]who the fuck watched that thinking the new companion would turn out to be a fucking Dalek, bull you saw it coming[/sp]
I didn't see it coming entirely because I thought she was the new companion. If you didn't know that (like everyone I was watching it with) it wasn't hard to predict, and even if you did it was still something to think about. Why would a crashed ship be on the map anyway, and perfectly positioned at the end of Intensive Care?
Just saw the episode, I absolutely hate the [sp]Doctor Who?[/sp] joke. I'm sure Moffat felt very clever when he was writing that, but it's such a terrible joke. And as for the people who keep saying that the Daleks were made scary again in that episode, they just weren't. They weren't competent, the insane Daleks were just zombie Daleks, and were pathetic as a threat. Maybe I just didn't like the episode, but god that ending sucked. Way to throw out half of the mythos.
Well I appear to be the one of the highest ratted comments. 60 seconds ago I had 10 'ratings up' and now I've got 16. So he'll probably see it either way.
226 positive ratings, and people commenting how they're unsubscribing from Alex's channel. Seems like you've had quite an impact :v:

The daleks are meant to be his old, long-standing adversaries and now they don't even know who the hell he is.[/sp]
i've never heard of any of the people that dan is talking about and i'm glad i never have because they sound like awful people

They'll probably remember because of the whole "make them remember you" thing or their memory will be restored to pre-deleted state.[/sp]

I don't understand how the rating thing works on that leakynews website, Does it say Dan has 244 upvotes or is it just me?
Oh, the "take-away style" pizza I had for dinner while watching Dactor Who also decided to actually cook for once instead of just going all doughy, so that was good. Also, I had no idea that the actress for Oswin was supposed to be a new companion or anything...

What gets me is that when the doctor met the Daleks in WWII, they escaped. And he was pretty flipping angry about that. I mean grumpy as a goat. And then he meets them this time. He's got EVERY Dalek in existence in the same room, he's pretty much free to prance around and do whatever he wants, and all he does is skip on into the Tardis and chuckle to himself. I'd have thought he'd be busting Daleks left and right
He's got EVERY Dalek in existence in the same room.
He had one ship as opposed to the fleet surrounding it.

I can't remember much of previous doctor who? I thought those 4 coloured Daleks where the only ones left, where did this whole parliament and fleet come from?

I thought those 4 coloured Daleks where the only ones left, where did this whole parliament and fleet come from?
No no no no no :P The Daleks we saw in the WW2 story were the last of the Daleks. Thanks to The Doctor royally fucking up he ended up giving them the ability to create more Daleks. The first batch of 'pure' Daleks they created were in the big bulky coloured suits and killed the 'unpure' older Daleks. Then the coloured Daleks escaped with the ability to make more. In the Big Bang and The Pandorica Opens we see a Dalek fleet so obviously the new coloured Daleks had rebuilt the empire. The coloured ones are a higher rank to the older ones, they just kept making more and more. The Autons were all over the place at that point. Silly Doctor
I though the daleks forgetting the doctor was an interesting twist, they essentially say it in the episode, their hatred of the doctor fueled their ambition to destroy everything in what i imagine was their sick twisted way of aspiring to be as 'Beautiful' as the doctor. It won't last obviously.

Why would they then go back and recreate every single previous version of the Daleks?
No they killed The Daleks there as they were a mix of Davros and human DNA. Unpure. They had the means to create pure daleks, just because they used the old armour doesn't mean they're not pure as the coloured ones. There was a lot of emphasis put on the revelation The Daleks only become so strong out of fear of The Doctor. Without knowing about him they have no drive, so it might be a while before we see them again.

I feel like the only person who saw the end of the episode being the obvious season arc. It even ties in with the end of last season - "The Question". I know I'm not actually alone here but damn are the angry voices loud in this thread. I have faith that Moffat hasn't just retconned the entire Dalek backstory; he is in fact going somewhere with this. If anything, I feel the next episode is going to struggle. it comes across to me as trying too hard.
