Ugh, don't get me started on how the killed off my favourite characters, yet let Gwen live.

I don't like how they made Torchwood seem pretty weak and useless by the end of it aswell. I liked it when they had all that alien tech and a large base or when it was an actual company and not just a few random people.
Aye; it sucks that they killed off Tosh and Owen in one fell swoop, then picked off Ianto with a bloody virus. Next thing we know, Season 5 will have Gwen get eaten by Cthulhu.
I dunno what RTD was thinking back then.
I love how Owen dies the episode after we learn the reason he's so distant from everything. Way to create a character arc for someone who dies right afterwards. What a waste. And then instead of building a new team, they kill off anyone who could remotely be a new team member. Like the doctor in the Children of Earth, who's purpose is to only shoot Jack. And then dies right afterwards. "You've served your purpose in this story, time to die."
Just read the SH thread about the ISS having to ration power because of a solar panel breakage which made me think, there really should be a DW episode where he goes on the ISS.
BREAKING NEWS: filming locations have all been used on Earth by Doctor who to where future episodes will take place on board the international space station. Moffat had this to comment, "we thought about having a different camera angle in a rock quarry or filming at Southerndown Beach with a different sepia filter, but it's all been done. The only logical choice to film next is in space."
The first episode fucking ends with them driving on a beach while being chased by a helicopter, which ends with Gwen shooting it down with a rocket launcher Jack pulled straight out of his ass. What the hell. That's ridiculous coming from a show which had an episode where an alien killed people for their orgasms.
Ain't the first weapon Jack's pull out of his ass.
Although it is the largest.
also, has any of the doctor's other companions had children? maybe the tardis makes them all sterile? :D
River Song was created by Rory and Amy having sex on the Tardis, so the Tardis making all the companions sterile is out of the question.
Also, I'm sure Amy didn't just say she couldn't have kids because of stress. The Doctor has been away for some time, and it can be safely assumed that they went to a physician and found out she is sterile now thanks to what happened to her when she was kidnapped.
wait wait wait
i heard the new episode was on a few days ago
is this true and if so where can i find it and watch it immediately

Look in the OP, I streamed it and it should still be on my livestream channel.
There's a lot of fluff before and after though, I started the stream early so people could chat.
I just had a theory: [sp]What if Oswin gets saved as a Dalek and she gets turned into some form of android/holographic projection?[/sp]

but we already had one twist about her identity, you can't pull another one out of a hat
Alex Day replied to me.
First of all, hello, and I don't mind you unsubscribing - I'm glad that, because you weren't enjoying my content anymore, you did something about it and moved on. I'm still very proud of what I make and if it's not for you, that's fine, I hope you'll give my stuff another chance in the future but you could also have just got bored with it and that's okay. I'm not doing it to please people. (I don't think that means I can't give criticism, though. It'd be like having someone say 'I don't like the new Gaga track' and someone else saying 'well what music have YOU MADE?!' - not relevant. Everyone's allowed to have and express opinions. That's what makes the internet great and terrible, after all.)
If you HAD written a 7-point article tearing down my videos and saying people had awful taste if they kept watching, that would have been fine too. I certainly don't expect everyone, or even the majority of people, to like what I do. I'm fortunate that I have my little corner of the internet where I can entertain some people from week to week and if they like it, they like it. (Also I should clarify, since that line is a popular point of contention: I didn't say people had 'awful taste', I simply suggested they had 'lower standards than me'. Clearly, if I'm getting this wound up about it and nobody else seems to mind the things in the episode I perceived as flaws, I -must- have absurdly higher standards. It's a criticism of myself, if anything, that other people are at a neutral level and can let themselves enjoy stuff when I'm hardly ever satisfied with anything and end up having to write long rants on internet news sites. So I apologise for offending you with that statement if you misinterpreted it, as many seem to have done.)
I liked Doctor Who just fine when I recorded Chameleon Circuit's music, obviously, so your paragraph about me 'cashing in' isn't valid. In four years together, all Chameleon Circuit's done is release two albums and zero singles and played no gigs apart from a one-off appearance at VidCon. Even the music videos aren't made by me and there aren't any for the new album. Cashing in? We've barely done the amount of work required to call ourselves a band, believe me if we'd wanted to cash in, you'd have known it.
(And the Moffat era didn't buy me a house. Technically Twilight did, if you wish to be cynical.)
As for your point on me 'ignoring comments' - I apologise for making you think that. In reality I just didn't check back. I really didn't think about this too much. I think a lot of people are perceiving me as some crazy man high on his own power thinking 'I will tear down this show! HAHA! I AM UNSTOPPABLE, LOOK AT ME' - that's not what it was. I watched some TV I didn't like so I went online and wrote about it and then I closed the browser and moved on. I'm not in a fit of rage about it right now, when someone mentions Doctor Who I don't burst into a verbal version of this opinion piece, I just forgot about it. I didn't come back and reply to everyone who disagreed with me because I didn't care enough about my own opinion to do so. The only reason I'm even here now is a friend of mine mentioned there was a lot of negativity on the article and I thought I'd check it out. But if you don't understand or agree with my opinion or you think I conducted it the wrong way, okay, fine. Let's agree to disagree and do something else with our time :)
Plenty of commas. for those interested here is my reply and at the same time I address his criticisms which I've seen a few of you agree so it explains my stance on them.
Heyo, thanks for replying man.
I concluded my comment got a little out of hand round the time people started posting it on your Facebook wall. I hadn't intended for it to be used as fodder against whatever you do I just wrote my thoughts on the internet and suddenly friends are telling me I've sparked some mini e-revolt which isn't what I wanted at all. So for that reason I've ignored all the people furiously supporting me and the people criticising me as it was purely a message for you and not a speech.
You didn't just say we had a lower standard of television you insisted it was bad television. You said it was objectively bad. That's implying your statement isn't opinion but fact.
To start some more sensible debate I'll explain my own personal views on your points.
1) Honestly I thought of Rose. I thought Oswin was a detour from this. I thought it was a glaring flaw in her character that she was so arrogant which made her interesting. I instantly thought her different to Amy where as Amy really wasn't that smart. She just had decent survival instincts. Plus you could even argue Oswin wasn't smart, she managed to consistently burn the same meal for a whole year in her own imagination. The intelligence was a factor of her Dalek identity.
Plus so much more makes up these characters. If that was the only characteristics they had it would be fair criticism but it wasn't.
2) I saw this as Amy reminding him of the crap she's been through and how upset she is. Obviously Rory knows yet Amy feels like she's being treated unfairly without him considering the fact she's also choked up about it. I found it heartbreaking.
3) Her memories were manipulated briefly by the crack and never by The Silence, I think you should rewatch or atleast read up before throwing about insults of a plot when you got the plot wrong.
I know you personally don't want kids and maybe that effects how you'd enjoy a storyline based around them but I found this as a continuation of the previous kids story anyway, not a brand new one. It's consequences from the previous events, and pretty big serious ones for Doctor Who to tackle.
4) He didn't leave Amy because of the kids thing, that was what she thought. That was the point of him trying to give her his bracelet, once again something missed? :P
He left her as he thought she didn't love him as much as he loved her. As for the Daleks it's the first time he's encountered them. Before it was brief with one chasing him about a corridor made of stone in a series of memories which already feel like a dream. If I got back with Karen Gillan I'd punch the air.
5) I think you need to rewatch Doctor Who dude! The Dalek Paradigm have always officially been called "The Dalek Paradigm". Not "New Daleks". That was the press. The only reason they executed the WW2 Daleks is because they were not pure, they were humans and Davros Clones. Because if you remember Davros rebuilt the Daleks from his own DNA and the Dalek Emperor had started collecting humans and turning them into Daleks back in Series 1, which Davros also probably did after he stopped using his own DNA. It's not a new thing, it has been happening for a while. It was when they tried to reverse it and turn a Dalek into a human that they had some problems.
6) Ha, I think you missed the point. It was very deliberately sounding like the end of last series because THAT was the prophecy. This is what Dorium warned, that's one of the three. The Daleks chanting "Doctor Who?" and The Doctor. THAT WAS THE STORY ARC- OH MY GODDDDDDD!
7) Picking on a running joke, that's silly. They do have a big chin and nose and they know it. It's funny man.
So there, that's why people had a problem with your opinions, because they were missing important facts. You had 2 + 2 = 3 and then argued that 3 is a stupid number instead of realising how you came to your conclusion was a tad off.
Also your line about people watching just to make a GIF and say "Oh the feels". I don't use Tumblr but a good part of your fanbase DO and do just that with YOUR videos, Sherlock, MLP, Doctor Who, Fringe and The Beatles. People do that with EVERYTHING.
Hopefully this is the end of it. I don't mind people stating opinions but if somebody came in here and said "It's stupid how Matt Smith plays the Doctor different to Tennant they're supposed to be the same man". You too would be angry because they've missed an important plot point, just like Alex missed several. He must've watched the episode blind.
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. Can't wait, I was sceptical but from what I've heard it'll be amusing with some fantastic guest stars. As long as it's cinematic I don't care.
[editline]4th September 2012[/editline]
Amazing, people on Facebook are actually discussing "Danny vs Alex". I have no idea who they are.
I disagree with some of the stuff Alex said, but I do think a lot of people are being overly harsh.
Yeah I don't like the people full on slaughtering his character and using me as an example of a hero.
Dan2593
The hero we deserve, but not the one we need right now.

I don't know if this is late but someone pointed out that Oswin was in the same chair that the doctor's daughter blasted off in.

Could this hint at how [sp]She was able to resist being converted completely into a dalek, and did things the Doctor could not?[/sp]
remember the chair, it is one of the most powerful things in the universe.
maybe the chair will be the new red balloon
Or it could just be a case of re-used props.
Or it could just be a case of re-used props.
But doesn't the series have a history of throwing in subtle clues?
I would assume the chair is just them reusing a prop.
I never saw the Doctor's Daugher episode, but was she a timelord? If she had the power to regenerate, then she could have crashed into the planet, regenerated into Oswald, Dalek-magic removes her memories of the Doctor and converts her mostly to Dalek but she manages to save a small part of her concious brain and hides in there for a year.
Explains why she dreamed up the chair, why she was so eager to 'get out and see the universe' (as was her original plan) and also why she's so clever
Also bearing in mind Moffat's fondness for stories involving memories

She can at least partially regenerate
It seems possible, but its convoluted as heck to be dragging something up from 3 seasons ago that wasn't even the same showrunner
When the Doctor first walked into the room, right before the actual reveal, I expected to see something like this.

I think it might just be me, but while I am completely in favour of you in Dan vs Day, September 2012, could we maybe leave it out of the thread? Like I said, I agree with absolutely all of your points, it's just kind of.. petty. And it leaves not much room for other discussions, such as why the fuck dinosaurs are on a space ship.
Just putting that out there.

The better question is, why aren't there dinosaurs on more spaceships.
