I like dark Doctor, I like when he mentions all the bad shit he's done to scare the fuck out of people or when he realises how bad he is (Waters of Mars ending)
I'm glad they're building it up a bit more this series. "Time Lord Victorious" came about too suddenly, IMO.
I wonder if there will ever be a female Doctor.
I wonder if there will ever be a female Doctor.
I hope not

The "vegetable matter?" "only my balls" joke was a bit naughty, in a pantomime/carry on film sort of way.
I wonder if there will ever be a female Doctor.
Already has been, Curse of the Fatal Death.
Personally, I couldn't stand Dinosaurs on a Spaceship. It seemed to just be pandering to a much younger audience, and focused way too much on the wacky. I never had a moment where I could genuinely believe that things weren't contrived or idiotic. They need to make Eleven just a little bit more serious rather than complete goofball, otherwise he can't be used very well in serious situations. He handled the brief serious moments of the episode very well, but it was offset by him acting completely wacky for the rest of it. The queen was obnoxious and pointless, but the hunter and Brian were great. To finish off my whiny rant, I must say that I preferred it when the Tardis just kind of teleported from place to place. I know it was because of special effect restrictions, but it just seemed a bit more unique to me.
Yeah, it was a really silly one, but that's ok on occasion. I thought it was a really witty episode too, lots of great jokes and moments. And yeah Matt Smith can be pretty silly but I think he pulls off other more serious episodes really well too.
I wonder if there will ever be a female Doctor.
Would make a romantic reunion with Rose awkward/hot (depending on the age)
The 'christmas list' bit was great was was the vegetable matter
Golf balls, no less. Like a goddamn carrot-on-a-stick for that Triceratops.
Asylum of the Daleks Final Ratings: 8.33m
How does it fair against the other Season Pilots?
Hmm. I wonder if the fact that the doctor said he was in the song Oswin played had anything to do with their backstory
Hmm. I wonder if the fact that the doctor said he was in the song Oswin played had anything to do with their backstory
Did the Doctor say he was in the song in Asylum? Because he also said he was in the song in Dinosaurs.
Did the Doctor say he was in the song in Asylum? Because he also said he was in the song in Dinosaurs.
He said he was the triangle in Asylum, but "it got lost in the mixing"
he's probably going to be involved with the song that plays in the saloon in a town called mercy I bet
the power of song turns out oswins oswalds grammy was the real inventor of the gramophone
How does it fair against the other Season Pilots?
Lowest since the revival but not by much. However it's still 6th most watch tv show of the day. Which is what it was last year. SO technically no gain, no loss.
I really like how much detail was put into "Dalek." Seriously, I loved the fact that the Dalek's eyestalk was level to Billie Piper's eyeline, it was a metaphor about how Rose felt for the Lone Dalek and she didn't want it to be in pain, while the Doctor was taller than the Dalek, and whenever he talked to the Dalek face-to-face he was pretty much talking down to him, like when he tells the Dalek to kill itself and rid the planet of it's filth. It made it so much more intense to see the Doctor had to look down at the Dalek when he was talking down to the Dalek, and Rose had to look directly at the Dalek when she was trying to sympathise with the Dalek.
Looking forward to a Town Called Mercy. Apparently it's quite dark and serious despite what the trailers suggest. Which is good because I have hated the look of this one, two silly episodes together is too much.
Dinosaurs on a Spaceship was actually a lot better than I expected. And it's shown how fucking brutal the Doctor's got travelling alone. I'm really excited for Mercy.

Hell, I can imagine River Song popping up out of nowhere and slapping the shit out of him just in an attempt to get his head straight.
I hate River so much, I don't even know why. Her character just seems generally annoying.
I hate River so much, I don't even know why. That eyeline won't be so level.

Though does it mean it's possible that somewhere in that Library after The Doctor left that she regenerated? Who knows.
Though does it mean it's possible that somewhere in that Library after The Doctor left that she regenerated? Who knows.
Well, no. She used up her remaining regenerations to bring The Doctor back to life, remember?
