Looking forward to a Town Called Mercy. Apparently it's quite dark and serious despite what the trailers suggest.
Which is good because I have hated the look of this one, two silly episodes together is too much.
There's only one thing that can top Cyborg Cowboys: Werewolf Cowboys.
Well, no. She used up her remaining regenerations to bring The Doctor back to life, remember?
The master uses his regens to jump around like a frog and eat chicken fast and she loses all hers doing one thing? seems legit.

I thought that was just a side effect of his body dying and would be a legit reason for him to regenerate next time we see him.

It's OK, calm down. Don't panic.

Insightful. I was going to go to this but had no funds for travel and cba to get up early for it. Gutted.
[editline]11th September 2012[/editline]
Paul McGann hasn't aged much. It's a shame he never played The Doctor in 2005. He would've been just as mysterious as Chris so that's no excuse.

Tom Baker is my favorite
His voice is so sophiscated

The Fourth Doctor calls real Tom Baker.
Never gets old how Tom just goes with it.
I don't know why I didn't think of this before but thanks to "Asylum of the Daleks" we now know why they have chairs on a Dalek space ship :v: .
Why is the latest Doctor so dumb. He went from a wise and intelligent guy to some dumbass. The show has become aimed at a much younger audience than it was and I'm no longer watching. Dinosaurs on a ship was incredibly silly. They are milking the weeping angels so they are just boring now.
Why is the latest Doctor so dumb. He went from a wise and intelligent guy to some dumbass.
He's still very intelligent? He's just having fun and plays his it down. instead of showing of which was a characteristic of 10. Everybody thought he was going to die and he had figured out how to avoid it the whole time.
Aimed at younger audiences? What bull. It always has been silly. Farting aliens and space pig. Every enemy was a space animal. You can go back to any series and find for every serious episode you have 3 silly ones.
Nostalgia is a bitch, you've just grown up.
[editline]12th September 2012[/editline]
How was Asylum of the Daleks childish?
A lot of the last series was complained for being too grown up and children didn't like it or understand what was going on, now it's too childish? You've watched one silly episode and gone "FUUUUCK IT"

Think of the old lodger episode with him playing football and stuff. He was a complete idiot. Surely all of the years alive he's seen a game of football. The 10th doctor would'nt have been so dumb.
The older episodes such as Doomsday were much more emotional and exciting. Dinosaurs roaming a space ship is just silly.
I can still watch the older episodes and get into them but these new ones just seem so silly. Maybe I just prefer Russel T Davies as writer.
Asylum seemed it was meant to scare little kids with the corpses and poking out dalek eye things.
Don't even get me started on that christmas episode with trees.
Anyway I'm not trying to start an arguement I'm just stating my opinion on the series now.

wait youre saying that you prefer RTD's episodes because they aren't as silly
are you on crack
someone preferring rtd
the man who created a hour long sex scene episode that you couldn't skip because it was integral to the story

Kind of vaguely half-relevant: Christopher Eccleston's playing this guy in the next Thor movie.

Nine worlds, Ninth doctor
heh.
A few notes about The Power of Three..
[sp]The Brigadier's daughter IS in this episode. UNIT is also said to be treated very pertwee-era like. Chibnall has impressed previewers.[/sp]
Also, time confirmation.
The Power of Three, will air Saturday 22 September at 7.30pm.
THAT I am most excited for because of [sp]UNIT and the Brigs daughter[/sp]. Expecting Bessie.
Though I always wanted [sp]The Doctor to go back and find Micky had been promoted to Brigadier. The appeal of the character original was that he once knew the Doctor in a previous adventure.[/sp]

See I do agree that it's weird 11 has reverted into a child in some senses. I wouldn't say he's dumb, he's become more alien and childlike. Like how he doesn't understand when people flirt or when he doesn't know something like Football. I know they're trying to show he has no social skills and is dead weird but that was done better with Tom Bakers Doctor who was weird but you sensed was totally in control.
But don't compare The Lodger to Doomsday. They were attempting different things. I wouldn't compare The Doctors Wife to The Unicorn and the Wasp. It's a bit like when people compare Dark Knight and Avengers despite them being SO different. Episodes of Doctor Who can be so damn varied it's actually hard to compare them. You get real emotional ones with great tension and action like The Doctors Wife, Midnight, The Girl Who Waited. But then you get silly romps like Dinosaurs on a Spaceship, The Lodger or Of Love and Monsters.
I would say Matt Smith handles the romps better than Tennant atleast.

Yeah. He'd be more likely to go "FOOTBALL REMINDS ME OF ROSE. ANGST TIME NOW "
Yeah. He'd be more likely to go "FOOTBALL REMINDS ME OF ROSE. ANGST TIME NOW "
I felt like Russel T. Davies didn't cut the Tenth Doctor enough slack and made him all depressed after "Doomsday". It was a bit bullshit because David Tennant is a REALLY good actor and the Tenth Doctor was the most charismatic in my opinion.
If they gave the Tenth Doctor more moments when he wasn't upset about everything he's done then he could have developed even more to a great character.
I like how they made the Doctor a more serious character, but still, I liked him better in Season 2 then I did in Season 3 and 4.

I think the fans play this up a bit, he wasn't that bad. He probably would've stood there rattling off about some exact physics and how he'll kick the ball in an exact location to cause an equal reaction launching the ball in a northerly direction caught in the wind and accelerated directly into the goal because let's face it I'M BRILLIANT. ALONS-Y.
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
Ok it's not a spoiler anymore. TV mags and cast listings are pretty clearly stating that Kate Stewart is a part of Episode 4. Exciting.

where did the new coat go? I really liked it
I'm guessing the Doctor will change his look in or after the Christmas Special.

Sweet. Never was much of a fan of the tenth Doctor only alternating between two outfits all those years when that was a John Nathan Turner thing. The others would have the same style but change it up.

That said I never liked the last Scarf tom had, was dull with those reds. Not as fun as the others.
But what were they trying to do with this marketing picture? Tegan is caught in the Doctors tentacles during horrid anime inspired rape sequence?
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
"Oh Doctor I was just being a dirty girl with this screwdriver"
"Ahhh Tegan! Let me tie you to this tree so I can easily access your marvellous glands"
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
Tegan didn't dress like that, or have that hair or smile. She always seemed like a lesbian. She looks better there. She should've kept her accent.
[editline]13th September 2012[/editline]
Tegan = Most wasted companion potential ever
Forgot to mention, anybody wanting to see more of Jenna-Louise Coleman prior to the Christmas Special - BBC Four's Room at the Top airs (after a year's delay) Episode One on Wednesday 26 September. That's during the week between The Power of Three and The Angels Take Manhattan.
Episode Two airs the week after, but the BBC have yet to confirm.

Tom MacRae has written another episode - but has no idea when we will see it!

I get the feeling that Jenna somehow dissed Matt's jez and now is walking off-set to calm down. :v:
