Truly amazing episode. Toby you've done it again, that's why you're one of my favourite writers. Can't wait til next weeks.
Fucking A+
Christmas list mentioned again woo. Very predictable episode though
Found it a little dull to be honest, certainly interesting though :) I liked the Doctor losing it a bit especially with the "sit down!"
Doctor seems to be a bit angry recently
Thought that episode was kind of meh. Not necessarily bad, but I wouldn't really watch it again in the future. I wonder if there'll be people on Facebook ranting about the "gay agenda" with a male horse wanting to be called Susan. Next week looks pretty interesting.
That was a great episode and looking excited for next weeks. I approve of dan's "avoid spoiler's it's better" method. Apart from knowing about these first few episodes already, the only other I know of are the Angels.
I liked it. Holy shit that girl in the church pissed me off though. What a fucking imbecile.

I remember a time when the doctor would never hold a gun...
That's the point...isn't it?
I liked it, but was expecting the cyborg to be more scary. He was too nice with the whole not shooting innocents thing. On the subject of favourite doctors out of 9. 10 and 11, I'd say I probably liked 10 the least, but that's just the hipster in me talking.
The Power of Three looks cool. Didn't think much of this episode though.
Thinking of the Gunslinger reminds me of John Marston. What a fight that would be....
I remember a time when the doctor would never hold a gun...
When was that, exactly? Every single Doctor has held a gun...
I liked it. Holy shit that girl in the church pissed me off though. What a fucking imbecile.
And no-one stopped her. Bloody kids... 3 strong episodes in a row from the start, good season so far.
When was that, exactly? Every single Doctor has held a gun...
but he was pretty against it when Jack had a gun, he replaced it with a banana
This episode can pretty much be summed up as "Western + Judge Dredd + Space Nazis"
but he was pretty against it when Jack had a gun, he replaced it with a banana
Yet this discussion was brought up last week and the fact remains that The Doctor has carried weapons before, and The Doctor has killed people before. Even Hartnell fired his pistol in The Gunfighters. It's complete nonsense that this is some brand new characteristic as some people made it out to be last week, and probably will again this week. Be thankful he didn't intentionally get someone killed this week.
I remember a time when the doctor would never hold a gun...
Only during the RTD era. He used plenty of guns in the old episodes.
I noticed the vortex was pretty much red this week.
I think it actually hurt my eyes a bit
I wonder if the constant flickering lights (for whatever reason it's passed off as in-episode) could be a link to the Weeping Angels. If they can only move then they're not being seen - why not turn out all the lights?
Since when was he 1200 years old.
I thought that was because the cable to the [sp]spaceship[/sp] was all sparky and broken.
As I say, regardless of in-episode reasons. It just keeps popping up... like Christmas...
Since when was he 1200 years old.
Well, he was 1103 by the end of Series Six. Add on the gap between series. Then the extended breaks in between. "This is what happens when you travel alone for too long." But, it's probably just another in a long line of confusions over his age. He was several thousand years old once.
As I say, regardless of in-episode reasons. It just keeps popping up... like Christmas...
where was the flickering lights last week?
I just realized that despite his general badassery the Gunslinger is actually pretty ineffective. His gun takes like ten seconds to charge and does about as most damage as a contemporary rifle, and his targeting can be fooled just by [sp]painting a line on your face.[/sp]
where was the flickering lights last week?
well a run down space ship typically has flickering lights all over the place.
There was also the intentional focus on the Ponds' light fitting.
