A trend appears. The Angels are coming.
and Christmas... and the invasion of the eggs. Just wait for it. Series finale. Giant eggs in space.. and why not, lets link it to the vortex getting darker aswell.
imagine the vashta nerada, silence, and weeping angels were all connected somehow
I remember a time when the doctor would never hold a gun...
Really when?
They all fucking did it. The only one who opposed them was ten and ten died holding a gun. Each Doctor is different.

Earths lights flickering. Angel invasion incoming.
Oh shit.
Those wide mouthed people in the trailer for next episode look scary

Would be a viable way to get a counterfeit Statue of Liberty moving about... if that particular piece of speculation should manifest itself as truth. But lets face it. Steven Moffat. New York. Moving statues. Yeah, that's going to happen.

I just hope that the Angels episode doesn't have a bombastic soundtrack and strips them to basics. That's what made them so damn scary first time, the director was marvellous. The music should build the tension but be mostly silent.

How I imagine the 50th going down.
Nick Hurran again. It's a shame Hettie MacDonald didn't do another. But I thought the likes of Asylum and The Girl Who Waited were directed okay, so it's no biggie :)
I hope we see more of the TARDIS doing.. anything... next week.

How can the statue of liberty be an angel.
Its made of copper.
Its huge.
Angels are neither, and they are all the same size and shape.
I'll be sad if the Statue of Liberty is an angel.

"counterfeit Statue of Liberty"
I would imagine it wouldn't be very hard for Moffat to write in a swap. Also, as we have seen in the past, and in the Series 7 trailer, they are not always the same size and shape. Plus, the synopsis for Angels in Manhattan is that "New York's statues are coming to life."

So it doesn't necessarily have to be angel looking.

I always presumed they were a race of creatures which would obviosly all look the same who happened to turn into stone when they were looked at.
Just making them any size is lazy and stupid.

That could be a child one.

Allowing us to see them move was a stupid thing to do, but Moffat went there too. Don't underestimate the man!

oh god you're right I had forgotten

Humans don't all look the same and vary in size from 4'8" or less to 6'11 or more.

Going from human looking with wings at like ~6ft to non wings at 305ft is a bit stupid.
Also im pretty sure there will never be 0 people looking at the statue of liberty.

I saw the cherub not move and I assumed in the dark he blew his breath to anticipate blowing out the match.
Maybe the statue was some sort of angel all along where everybody looked at it all the time and if the new york population disappeared then it could move because no body looked at it.

Unless, all the lights were to go out suddenly... and the sky was not clear. Hence, the flicking lights theory! That would take some time to adjust.
I found this episode a bit disappointing, but it was great moral and story wise.
This is what sometimes gets me with some of the Moffat-era episodes, the directing is a bit wonky at times, otherwise its fantastic like Asylum of the Daleks and the Silence episodes.
or it might be that I'm expecting everything to be fantastic and this is the first time watching. I usually enjoy these more the second time around.
Next weeks episode looks great though and the lights flickering is awesome.
Really left-field.

But that sky and that vortex. I wonder if it will be more than just a poster feature. Also, New York is almost shrouded in darkness. I don't know, I'll stand by the lights-going-out theory for now. Guess we will just have to see what happens.
While it might just be me and my mind, but the Gunslinger reminded me of the Borgs from Star Trek.

It's either this and it's an invasion across time, (all episodes have taken place on earth when the dimming occurred), or it's just Amy.

The Doctor said at the end of Blink that any statue could be a weeping angel.
