To everyone saying "the Doctor wouldn't shoot a gun".
The Post-Timewar Doctor wouldn't.
The Post-Timewar Doctor wouldn't.
But he had. And worse. It annoys me Tennant fangirls on Youtube and shit get pissy is The Doctor holds a gun when THe Tenth Doctor slaughtered an entire race of spider-like aliens and burned a mother alive and then drowned her children. Or when Nine destroyed Downing Street with a missile and slaughtered a family doing it
Looking at that, it makes me wonder why he has such an aversion to guns nowadays. Maybe he thinks guns are somewhat unsporting, in which case he'd probably be better off with some sort of folding crossbow or even a holographic rapier and shield "app" for his sonic screwdriver. (by hologram I mean the physical omni-tool kind of hologram). That way he'd have an actual weapon whilst still being against guns, a somewhat alright compromise between being a hypocritical pacifist and the old-school kind of Doctor who wouldn't hesitate to actively fight against an unreasoning threat, as opposed to just running. If his screwdriver had the "holographic forcefield" app, it could be kind of a "bulletproof umbrella", and the holographic rapier app would probably be pretty awesome.
Sorry I'm distracted by how hilarious it is watching The Doctor snap a blokes neck and run off.
Yeah; it's just so casual yet amazing. It's just a snap of the neck and then he runs off like a boss before Sarah Jane can even remark on it. Still, I think it'd be awesome if the sonic screwdriver got a "solid hologram projector" module added to it, even if it'd technically make the Doctor like some sort of time traveling Green Lantern. Speaking of which, I suspect someone might have wrote a Green Lantern/Doctor Who crossover fic; after all there's so much stuff like that on the internet.
Doctor didn't use guns because they don't work on what he goes up against. RTD decided it should be because of morals.
The whole "guns aren't that effective" thing makes a fair slice of sense pie; you can hardly shoot a big metal robot with a rifle. Russel's interpretation of him not liking guns just because was pretty RTDed if you follow me; if the Doctor said something like "Really fellas, guns? Where's the fun in those? At LEAST use a sword or a crossbow or something; those're much more sporting", then it'd at least have context and be sort of "fashionable", but nope; poorly-explained moral qualms it is from Russel T Davies. I'm hoping Moffat makes those kinds of changes to the Doctor's character; if not through a terrible event that makes the 11th Doctor more inclined to use weapons (like if he could have prevented a close friend's death if he'd only chopped the bad guy's hand off with a sword), then as part of the 12th Doctor's quirky new personality.

Always aware guns never work but always shoots the fuckers anyway. Chap with wings. Five rounds rapid. Yep, I remember the Five Rounds Rapid. Never know if it don't work until you try.
Episode 5 is apparently 50-minutes long, with a glimpse of Christmas post-credits.
I'm going to try to be really strict with myself about previews for The Angels take Manhatten.
The Power of Three Daily Teasers: [sp]Don’t get to close to the cubes or they may join your face The angels make an appearance at the end The choice Amy and Rory discussed in the trailer is not decided until the end. It may not be them who makes the choice.[/sp]
The angels make an appearance at the end
Sorta expecting The Doctor to notice the flickering lights and be like "What's going on" and chase back a signal or something to the moon and then he opens The TARDIS doors and sees an angel standing pointing at the earth as all the lights go out and he's like "OH SHIT A BITCH" and slams the door and the credits roll. Some of that might no happen but around that sorta gist.
I'm going in to The Power of Three without expectations, really. It's the final chance to enjoy The Ponds ( & Brian) so I'll take it as it comes.
The flickering lights are a little bit like "The bees are disappearing".

A lot of spoilers and future stuff in this thread...
Mostly speculation. That's what Doctor Who fans are supposed to do.
Mostly speculation. Ain't sayin' it's against the rules, I'm just sayin' the words I'm sayin'.
Took me a minute to realize the sheriff from A Town Called Mercy is the same actor as John Crichton from Farscape. If anyone's watched that.
Brian who? [editline]18th September 2012[/editline] Stop. Wait. Hold that thought. Moffat said the secret to how Amy and Rory disappear has been there since Eleventh Hour? You know what we were arguing about all that time ago? It's the staircase. It's got to be the staircase, the one that we thought was a red herring. It's a staircase to a Silent ship, just like the Lodger. Just out of the corner of your eye, just where you don't want to look. I'm calling it now.

Take some more teasers, with which to do what you like.. [sp]-Amy has a new job. -A familiar trope from a previous showrunner's era makes a return. -Apart from Sir Alan Sugar, there's another celebrity cameo. Though he's not the first person with that name to guest in the programme. -Matt Smith gets to show off some leg skills again. -Amy and Rory are beginning to choose real life over the Doctor. -Brian's Log. -There's a "reappearance" of a song we haven't heard in the show for nearly seven years. -It features Doctor Who's first ever BBQ. -There's some man on man smooching. -Amy and Rory's wedding anniversary is ruined by an old Tom Baker-era monster. -Yes, Jemma Redgrave is playing the daughter of... -The Doctor knows the race behind the invasion, even if we don't.[/sp] I'm just tagging everything from now on, I claim no responsibility for your viewing DW content if you wish to remain entirely spoiler (and speculation) free.

If it was that spoillery BBC wouldn't have let it be released like the Asylum of the Daleks appearance of Jenna. If you're avoiding media coverage for something you avoid the thread too. It's common logic.
Anyone think of anything while rewatching Eleventh Hour? I'll probably watch it later today, but I'm curious to what you guys think is hidden in that episode.
