Wait a sec, who were the cube-faced people, and why were they stealing people?
That was either never explained (Which should've been explained) or I blacked out when they did explain it.
Wait a sec, who were the cube-faced people, and why were they stealing people?
Yeah, I didn't quite understand why people were being abducted if the Shakri wanted to kill everyone.
Yeah, I didn't quite understand why people were being abducted if the Shakri wanted to kill everyone.
I think they were abducting them to turn them into whatever those cube-faced people were, but then it was pretty useless since they activated phase 2 whilst they were still human.

Wasnt explained, the hologram guy didnt die in the explosion so expect a return of the cubes in the future! and explanations
Wasnt explained, the hologram guy didnt die in the explosion so expect a return of the cubes in the future! and explanations
I thought The Doctor said that guy was a VI not a hologram of some-one somewhere else? Or maybe I really just wasn't paying attention.

The hologram was just the ship personified, he wasn't actually /real/.
Also I think we're watching these in a weird order. The Doctor is wibbly wobbly.
Last week we were told Rory lost his phone charger when they visited Henry 8th. This week they visited Henry 8th.
Hmmmmm
The cubes were at the back of my mind throughout the whole thing. The episode served as a swan song for The Doctor, Amy and Rory.
Episode was generally awesome, ending was rushed.
Noticed the vortex had wormholes in it this week..
The Angels Take Manhattan TV Trailer
[sp]Why do I have a feeling they're coming for Rory because he's a very complex point in space and time having fallen in and out of it once? And yes, sure, the Doctor did too and he's a timelord but there's hardly any alien out there that doesn't realize how hard it is to catch THAT man.[/sp]
My working theory
[sp]Once you get zapped by an angel, you can't be rescued. So, let us say Rory does get sent back in time, and meets River. The Doctor and Amy's efforts to get him back just bring the angels to track him down - as River said, they're predators. I'm guessing the TARDIS is damaged somehow in the attempt.[/sp]
Lovely, lovely episode.
Ending was rushed though, that was a pity.
Guys, next week.
ANGELS!
Apparently Space's trailer contains colossal spoilers, so I'd avoid it at all costs. I haven't actually seen it, but someone on Twitter said it had a big ol' spoiler in it, thought I'd let you guys know if you want to avoid them.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
Matt doing his thing next week.
has an angel ever died yet, I would assume if they died the time energy leech thingy could be redirected from their previous hosts.
has an angel ever died yet, I would assume if they died the time energy leech thingy could be redirected from their previous hosts.
Not really died, a few fell into a collection of time energy and were erased from existence, but they were 'erased', not really killed.
Doctor Who would really benefit from more well made two parters or an extra 20 minutes per episode, the third acts of episodes are always the worst imo, i liked the episode though. wish they would have explored the cubes doing random shit more, that would have been fun.
Really hated the direction at the beginning of the episode but apart from that it was good.
Were the titles darker again this week?

Almost back to normal... apart from the wormhole effect around the TARDIS... and the pink vortex... then the violet vortex...

I thought I read something about the angels taking over the TARDIS or something.
Was it explained why the lights went out in the base?

We could take a guess..

That's what I assumed. I didn't notice any lights flickering (although someone here mentioned it happening at the party) so perhaps that's done now.
I liked all the tv references in this episode like Brian Cox, Alan Sugar and things

Could be be but I thought it was because of the cubes?
The flickering lights in previous episodes weren't explained, this was.
God DAMN that episode was great
Ending was rushed but really, that's down to Moffat not wanting 2 parters as opposed to Chibnall. Here was me saying he had a lot of potential as a writer and i'm glad he proved it this episode.
Was it explained why the lights went out in the base?
The power went out all around the world because the cubes were soaking up enough energy to shock the people with
The end of that episode was so cheesy the power of three but i loved it
Did anybody else find this pretty funny? (probably a bit of a spoiler, but its not that big of one)

Finally remembered to watch the premiere. Asylum or whatever.
I forgot how much I love this show. This might be my favorite episode ever, actually.
Is the Doctor not affected at all by his not wearing the wristband thingy? Is he immune somehow?
Also, on the mothership thing. That brain looking thing...was that like, the Dalek overlord or something? I'm not too proficient with my DW lore.
(And on that note, I kind of expected one of the wars listed to be the original one that killed all the other time lords except him and the other guy. Was that timelord v timelord, or were the daleks involved?
