[QUOTE=Zinayzen;37768788]Finally remembered to watch the premiere. Asylum or whatever. I forgot how much I love this show. This might be my favorite episode ever, actually. Is the Doctor not affected at all by his not wearing the wristband thingy? Is he immune somehow? Also, on the mothership thing. That brain looking thing...was that like, the Dalek overlord or something? I'm not too proficient with my DW lore. (And on that note, I kind of expected one of the wars listed to be the original one that killed all the other time lords except him and the other guy. Was that timelord v timelord, or were the daleks involved?[/QUOTE] Amy claims he probably doesn't need the wristband. A number of viewers think it might be a future plot point. The Dalek on the ship was the Dalek Prime Minister's first appearance. The Time War was Time Lords v Daleks. Both sides lost and The Doctor ended it. So does anyone else think that there's going to be another regeneration this season? Edit: Well it's going to happen sooner or later. Three seasons seems kinda really close to it.

I distinctly remember another scary space entity that looked similar to that guy...I think it might have been the Master but IIRC he has a physical body, not just a glob of brainy things.

Maybe that's what you're thinking of.
I bet someone's gonna make videos where the Birdy Song (that's the name, right?) is replaced by something different like Justin Beaver or Rebecca Blockhead.

But that was the first we saw of that specific Dalek. [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] I really like the bits in the trailer where The Doctor turns to Amy and Rory (seperate times) and [sp]warns them The Angels are coming for them specifically.[/sp] It just show how utterly helpless he is and can't do anything but delay what's going to happen. It reminds me very much of Blink when The Doctor said "The transcript ends, that means one thing the Angels are coming for you" [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] Also why did Rory leave his phone charger in Henry 8ths room this week when last week The Doctor mentioned it and Rory sighed. It's not a time thing. Unless he's done it before. Plus Amy and Rory were already travelling with The Doctor last week. I got a feeling the original order was The Power of Three and THEN A Town Called Mercy. Which I would've preferred but they probably didn't want the same writer twice in a row and wanted to explain why The Doctor killed Solomon last week. Plus spread out the appearances of Brian a bit.

It seemed odd that he missed them so much in The Power of Three. They have spent 10 years of their lives with him - how long has he really been by himself? The aforementioned 100 year gap for him? Ah, so many questions, with 50 minutes remaining to get answers.
[QUOTE=Maloof?;37770928]Unless the Doctor has already seen the Ponds take their exit and now he's going back to spend time with them for the last time[/QUOTE] But Rory knew what he was talking about. So it would mean Rory had already experienced power of three too. Which is impossible. The only explanation is the episodes were moved about. Which happens a lot. [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] You could say A Town Called Mercy took place DURING The Power of Three when they went off for seven weeks. But the flashback at the start included A Town Called Mercy.

I know am I going to sound crazy typing this, but since people are talking about the final episode I might aswell give in my thoughts about the Angels in New York. Ever since the Doctor had cleared up the cracks there had been strange debates over if the Angels were defeated in a different way since of the crack not being there to wipe them out, what if they weren't sucked up and the events of Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone were nulled out and the army of Angels were still there. Maybe they somehow found their way to Earth looking for Amy or something. (Yeah I know, it isn't that well thought out, but I just wanted to contribute to the thread a little more.)
Maybe because Amy remembers them they came back?
Im totally onboard with this series now. When asylum of the daleks aired, I was not convinced and almost didn't bother watching dinosaurs in a spaceship. Tbh I thought it was an awful episode for the first half and only decent for the second half so it wasn't a particularly encouraging experience. But these last 3 episodes have really been a good reminder of what great doctor who is about.
Apparently two versions of episode five's ending were filmed because the original got leaked. ORIGINAL ENDING SPOILER: [sp] Rory gets send back 100 years and dies of old age, Amy gets sent back 20 and dies waiting and a widow [/sp] [url]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8319/8010420864_3da1fe53c2.jpg[/url] [url]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8181/8010329011_a0eb97b091.jpg[/url] [url]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8459/8010368536_e29c8028fb.jpg[/url] [url]http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8461/8010399736_abd58ccc5a.jpg[/url] Some rumors that maybe true as confirmed by multiple sites:- [sp]River is going to have some sort of regeneration The Statue of Liberty becomes an Angel River may rewrite time by being touched by an Angel To escape the the statue of liberty Amy and Rory jump off the building[/sp]

Aren't you able to spoiler tag images? If not, then I might suggest you remove the img tags and just leave them as links. But then again, just looking at those images of the Liberty Statue is really fucking creepy.
Review posted over on DWTV - including the title sequences changes for episode five.. [url]http://doctorwhotv.co.uk/the-angels-take-manhattan-advance-review-39783.htm[/url] and yeah, good job with the pictures.
Lol people complained when Grizz put spoiler tags and you post pictures lolol
OH GOD THE STATUE OF LIBERTY.
hooray the ending has been spoiled for me :(
If the 4th and 9th Doctor do return next year I'd like them to have some scenes together. I want them both to debate their past actions regarding The Daleks. The Ninth is war torn and gloats about wiping them all out and was quite prepared to kill the last Dalek in the bunker and later wipe them all out until Rose come along. The Fourth had the opportunity to wipe them out forever and chose not to do it. The two would probably disagree. [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=HazzaHardie;37772513]hooray the ending has been spoiled for me :([/QUOTE] Several endings were filmed for the episode. We have no idea if the one that airs is even the same one the press see. What we can confirm is if it's leaked, it won't be used.
Missed the spoilers thankfully. If you're going to talk about what he posted may I ask that you please use spoilers where appropriate.
when is doctor who set now? if the doctor has been with rory and amy for 10 years is it 2022 or am I confused?
[QUOTE=HazzaHardie;37774635]when is doctor who set now? if the doctor has been with rory and amy for 10 years is it 2022 or am I confused?[/QUOTE] No, they've been with him for 10 years in the TARDIS I assume. It's still 2011 or 2012 or whatever, but they're 10 years older than they should be.
Just watched, thought it was a lot better than the previous episodes.

It's always confusing with that. Still not sure when Amy was actually picked up by The Doctor. [editline]23rd September 2012[/editline] [QUOTE=leontodd;37774881]Just watched, thought it was a lot better than the previous episodes.[/QUOTE] I thought it was a lot better than the last two for sure but not better than Asylum. Equal if anything. I can't see why everybody on the internet hates on Asylum.
[QUOTE]I can't see why everybody on the internet hates on Asylum.[/QUOTE] Don't worry, most people love it. Really does sum up Moffat's Who. I'm missing the potential new companion, before the old ones have left.
Agreed. That said I feel The Power of Three made me like The Ponds again. Some point in Series 6 I started to notice they didn't really feel like a married couple who had known eachother their whole lives. They felt like two of The Doctors mates that started dating. However in that episode they felt like a proper married couple. I wish we had more 'present' day episodes set in the companions home environments exploring their worlds. Without it the Doctors worlds have nothing to be compared to. Plus it's nice to meet people like Brian and Wilf. Heck even Jackie and Mickie and Marthas horrid mum.
Yes, I feel the same way. It's quite sad that I think it wouldn't be a bad thing to see more of the Ponds - just as they're leaving. But, nothing I can do about that, I guess. I'm just thankful "The Power of Three" came along when it did.
