did the writers make so that the audience likes Rory more than Amy now or is it just me that feels that way?

Last series he was mainly second fiddle to Amy with a few things to do. This series he's a real companion doing his own exploring, carrying his own emotional scenes and sharing a lot of individual screen-time with The Doctor. It's not that he's doing MORE than Amy, he's about equal. It's just because we're not used to him doing so much that makes him stand-out.
[editline]23rd September 2012[/editline]
Was nice to have a companion stay so long though. A bunch of kids that started watching this year, the year before or the year before that or even the year before that will know Amy as their first companion.
[editline]23rd September 2012[/editline]
Matt's already filmed next years episodes and no announcement has come about him leaving yet (which would've come by now as filming for the 50th Anniversary series starts spring). Plus he's said he's not leaving in the 50th So that's like another 2/3 years atleast I imagine.
Kids that started watching at the age of about 4 when Matt came on could be about 10 when he leaves. It's really mental when you think of it like that. I hope he does about 8 years. Matches Baker. I think if we keep having Doctors stay for 4/3/1 years then we don't allow ourselves to relax and build attachment to them. Doctors should be long standing fixtures.

With the whole A Town Called Mercy/Power Of Three mix-up that's happening, I'm fairly certain that they were swapped around. That'd explain the missing phone charger with Henry the VIIIth and even though the flashback includes Mercy, since all the footage was already there they just included it. Lastly, in Mercy The Ponds are suddenly there with the Doctor while at the end of the Power Of Three they're all leaving to go somewhere thanks to Brian.

Wow, Colin Baker. My least favourite Doctor and the least subtle at picking up young girls.
So how did you guys feel about Donna?
Just watched episode 2 of the new season. I love this show so much. I hope Amy lives, she's probably the best companion so far. I hated Rose so much, mostly because of her voice. 10th doctor + amy = good. Although Matt Smith's quite good as well.

I always thought Rose was kinda selfish during her time with the Doctor(s), she abandoned her family just to see the stars and she didn't tell them, (good example is when she tries to stay with the Doctor on Doomsday when activating the portal) atleast with Martha and Donna their families were told that both of them were going travelling for a while. She even disappeared from Mickeys life for a while and seemed to forget about him until that Bad Wolf episode with the Slitheen and the rift opening.
She just rubbed me the wrong way, and not in that sense.
Welcome back lefty!!
Matt Smith just appeared on Nick Grimshaws new breakfast show on Radio 1. Grimmy called him up to play a feature.
The show and feature were awful, Matt clearly wasn't that engaged as it went on. Especially when Grimshaw kept calling him "Doctor Who". So that was annoying as hell. The worst part is Matt clearly thought Nick actually watched the show because he's his friend, but the way he spoke about the show clearly indicated he hadn't a clue. He also spoiled a future episode which Matt tried to quickly cover up.
"Can I have a cameo Matt?"
"Well- I don't know. Sure"
"C'mon you got Florence and the Machine on an episode the other day"
"We... urm. Well. That I don't think worked it didn't work. Not worked"
Florence has previously talked about her love of the show and how she wanted to be on it since Matt took over. I doubt it just 'didn't work'.

Sly dog
Is he worse than Chris Moyles?
Chris Moyles was rude but could be funny and his team was great fun. Plus he actually watched Doctor Who and didn't pretend. Nick was just uncomfortable to listen to.

You have to take off all the endscreen& stuff.
This sums up my opinion on Chris Moyles.

Anyone remember seeing this advert on TV when you were younger?

Really brings back memories for me.
So how did you guys feel about Donna?
I liked Donna, and how she didn't stand for shit. Like how she convinced the Doctor to save those ppl from Pompei.
But she had like this pimple or something on her face that I remembered bothered me and I couldn't stop staring at it.
It was just part of the plot though. Where do you think the Timelord part of her brain was stored?
wait what
she had timelord bits?
In the end. It's why she had her brain wiped.
I have no idea what any of your words mean. I only started watching last season. I vaguely know who's who. Which doctor was she with?
Who else thinks it's bullshit that the next episode is the Fall season finale?
I have no idea what any of your words mean. I only started watching last season. I vaguely know who's who. Which doctor was she with?
Why would you do this?

Go back to Season 1, it's time to have a Doctor Who marathon.

How could you skip over the Eccleston years? That's the best part of the revived series, man! (Not to belittle Tennant, he was amazing also)
Anyone think the Dreamlord will come back sometime? I really liked that episode and the character, and the reflection of him at the end makes me hope for more of him.
Q: I want to get into this series, where should I start?
A: Christopher Ecclestone's series. No exceptions.
!!!!!
It's still a shame that Eccleston only got one season, he has the ability.
Thanks to 7-A's very strong start, Series 7 is currently averaging as the highest-rated series since the 2005 revival. 'A Town Called Mercy' is the highest rated episode 3 so far.
With episode five set to be a "must watch" episode for all watchers of the show, the autumn series looks to bow out on top of the New-Who ratings chart. Then it's up to 7-B to keep it going strong, no doubt receiving a little boost for the semi-reboot.

strange "A town called Mercy" was my least favourite of the bunch
Well technically the ratings are good as it's usually the second/third most watched show of the day but less people are watching. But that's because less people are watching TV in general. Every TV show has 2-3 million less viewers than it had 3 years ago.
So Tennants last series got 9-10 million people a week tuning in.
Matt is getting 5-6 million.
But more people are recording Matt's episode than ever before and more catching it on iplayer so he averages up at a 7-8 million which is what David got in his first couple of series' which is fine. And as I mentioned before LESS people are watching TV all together so 7-8 is REALLY good. Equal to the 9-10 David got.
Ratings are confusing. This is to sorta explain it to anybody who will jump up and scream "HOW CAN IT BE THE HIGHEST WHEN DAVID GOT AN AVERAGE 12 MILLION VIEWERS AND MATT IS GETTING 5 OR 6 MILLION". You've always got to consider how many people are actually watching TV and how it compares to everything else on TV and THEN you compare it to previous episodes.
[editline]24th September 2012[/editline]
I think we can all agree Tom Baker getting 10 to 15 million on a regular basis for nearly 8 years is mind blowing no matter how you look at it.
[editline]24th September 2012[/editline]
Fun fact: All modern Doctors have scored more than 10 million at least once. The highest rated modern episode is The Voyage of the Damned.
The highest rated episode ever is The Creature of the Pit Episode 2. However the highest rated story was The City of Death. Both with the legend that is Tom Baker.
