[sp]I get the vibe like the Doctor knows what's going to happen. River was there after all, and she might break spoilers for something that huge[/sp]

also this really is just nitpicky
but shouldn't river's screwdriver been more like the mark green
When Amy and Rory go I don't want rage or anger, we've seen it all before. I want a goodbye, one where Amy and Rory probably expect him to have a plan and him just to say goodbye and leave. I want him to sit in The TARDIS. On his own. Basking in his own failure. Just a moment of silence with nothing but the TARDIS engines where the viewers knows exactly what he's feeling without him saying or doing anything. Then just end into the credits and then the trailer for Christmas where he's still feeling pretty gutted about losing his best friends but things are looking up.
What I don't want is what we got with Rose where he cries saying goodbye, cheekily gets off with her and sulks about in the TARDIS before COMEDY SCENE. Let's leave The Doctor to have a shit moment for a change without it being brushed under the carpet only for him to cry about it forever later on. Let him have his Amy Rory moment.
Good god, [sp]what if he left Amy and Rory to die whilst sitting in the TARDIS as they get surrounded by the Angels and the Liberty Angel?[/sp]
please spoiler
i hadn't heard that speculation

Nope.
Nuh-uh.
My eyes can't handle that.
Saw a post on DS that Alex Kingston may have given the game away in a new article/interview. So watch out.
The BBC has announced that a special farewell video entitled “The Last Days of the Ponds” will premiere on the official site after The Angels Take Manhattan concludes.
Details follow:
The Last Days of the Ponds is a touching, 12 minute video that features Matt Smith, Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill, head writer and Executive Producer Steven Moffat and Executive Producer Caro Skinner. Poignant and insightful it tells their story, from the very start to the teary goodbyes.
With exclusive backstage material from their early days together right up to behind-the-scenes footage of their final shots, The Last Days of the Ponds gives you unprecedented access to an era of Doctor Who, but more than this, it reveals how the people involved feel about their characters and their friends, their time on the show, what they’ll miss and remember and how Amy and Rory’s swansong moved them all.
Karen, Arthur and Matt recall meeting each other for the first time and share anecdotes about their friendship. What did they think of each other at first and what did Arthur consider to be a nightmare? Which days does Karen call the craziest of all, and how was Matt feeling when it came to shooting the Ponds’ departure?
Additionally, the final logo change until Christmas is up. I haven't posted because of what it depicts. Just in case. LINK

It took me a while to realize what it was, but then my whole brain went "Shiiiiiiiiit".

A moment similar to that was at the end of Season 4, where the Doctor left behind Catherine Tate and said bye to Wilfred, then it showed him brooding (is that the right word for it?) over the TARDIS console as he left the times of Doctor-Donna behind. Better to end on a sad note than to almost end on a sad note only for a sudden twist to ruin the moment.

Fun fact: The ending of the Power of Three was the last scene Karen and Arthur filmed. The three went into the TARDIS at the end and all hugged and Karen cried.
but i don't get why [sp] it's an angel. It's made of Copper. [/sp]
[sp]They replaced it, duh. Same how statues on the planet became Angels[/sp]

I thought that was pretty obvious.
It's still stupid just changing how they look so that he can use the Statue of Liberty.
Surely if you were going that way then:

would be perfect.

Why are there headless ones?
Oh yes, that would be pretty cool; a Weeping Angels episode wherein the Doctor faces off against a Terracotta Army "possessed" by the Angels in ancient China. Sure it'd be like the Time of Angels only in ancient China, but it'd still be kinda awesomely terrifying; either that or terrifyingly awesome. Is there really a difference between the two, though? Like one's so awesome it scares you, whilst the other is so scary it's awesome?
Fuck, it's the angels this weekend?
Oh well, guess I can get more done when I'm awake.
It's still stupid just changing how they look so that he can use the Statue of Liberty.
It was already implied a Weeping Angel can take any form at the end of Blink and in Time and Angels they clearly had different forms before turning into the Angels with the more they fed.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
That said it was a lot better when they were just Angels with hands over their eyes and you were like "What this shit is SCARY FACE OH MY GOD"
Now they do all sorts of poses and take different forms.
You know what's been bugging me this entire goddamn season? If the Doctor is the master of space and time, why do Amy and Rory complain about being gone months at a time? Why can't the Doctor just drop them off 5 minutes after they left? I'm pretty sure the tardis is capable of being that specific.

He does drop them back just after they left, the thing is they're aging faster than their friends as they're going off and spending weeks in the Tardis then coming back a few seconds later. Do that on and off for years and people are going to start to notice.

Fuck. Seriously. I mean seriously. It's like going into a MLP thread and asking "IF THEY ARE HORSES HOW CAN THEY TALK".
Seriously go and watch it back.
A) He's not the master of space and time. His people just had time travel before they died. As far as they go The Doctor is awful at it.
B) The TARDIS is totally uncontrollable.
C) The TARDIS is supposed to be controlled by like 8 people or something not just 1.
D) Seriously. Go back. Start with Rose and work yourself to now. The stories this season have been good. But none compare to Dalek and The Empty Child in Series 1. Or the Satan Pit two parter in Series 2. Or most of Series 3 especially the finale. Or Midnight and Turn Left in Series 4.
There is SO MUCH for you to know and understand.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
Yes Rose is annoying in Series 2. But she's fine in Series 1 and that more or less is how teenage girls from a council estate (most teenage girls) in the UK acted in 2005.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
Honestly it's some of the most enjoyable TV around.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
Anybody who's missed Series 1, 3, 4 and 5 has seriously missed out on life. And a tiny bit of Series 6.

I've got to go to bed but this is genuinely how I felt reading your post. Don't worry we still love you but you MUST catch up. You NEED to see Blink before next week AT LEAST.
I'm completely fine with Moffat evolving his monsters to give them something new when they re-appear. So long as they remain fit for purpose.
I've seen Blink. I've seen 3/4th of all of Tennent's episodes and half of the bald guy's. That doesn't magically mean I can remember everything I've learned, half the episodes are terribly equalized and I can barely hear the things people are saying anyway. Besides, this show's like...what, 50+ years old? That's a lot of backstory I can't understand.

A) that was more directed at that clip someone posted, i was paraphrasing. I know he's not really the master of time and space, although being called a timeLORD would be rather misleading if that were true.
B) I sincerely doubt the tardis is COMPLETELY uncontrollable.
C) See above.
D) I've seen every one of the ones you've listed. The problem is while there's continuity it's hard to find it sometimes because of how random this show can be.
I'm not stupid, I've watched the shows, I just can't always put it together because I don't spend days watching past seasons and fitting everything together.
It's like going into a MLP thread and asking "IF THEY ARE HORSES HOW CAN THEY TALK".
Also that was a terrible analogy.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
hell, i can barely remember which set is called series and which is seasons
that's the problem with tv shows that have been on since the invention of television
B) I sincerely doubt the tardis is COMPLETELY uncontrollable.
I don't understand, what logic are you trying to apply to this? How would you know if it is uncontrollable or not?
I don't understand, what logic are you trying to apply to this? How would you know if it is uncontrollable or not?
my point was that he could just take people out and pop them back like five minutes after he took them (which it turns out he does.)
he then goes on to state that the tardis is completely uncontrollable, and then states that it's meant to be controlled by at least eight people. so no matter how you look at it, it IS controllable. I'm saying his point wasn't a particularly good one, unless I misunderstood it.
if it's controllable by eight people, you can't say it's completely uncontrollable. perhaps in it's current state (i.e. one guy instead of eight) it's significantly harder, but the fact that it IS controllable EVER means it's not completely uncontrollable.
unless of course logic doesn't apply in this universe, which quite frankly wouldn't surprise me anyway.
I don't understand, what logic are you trying to apply to this? How would you know if it is uncontrollable or not?
The Tardis has a mind of its own, but it can still be controlled when something important isn't happening.
The Tardis has a mind of its own, but it can still be controlled when something important isn't happening.
I know how it works, but it's hard to know how much this guy has actually seen.
