Thing about the TARDIS could be traced to The Doctor's Wife, wherein she said she took him where he needed to be, as opposed to where he wanted to be; being that the TARDIS's "soul" seems to be a multidimensional intelligence that perceives time with greater clarity than any normal being, it probably has more control over the TARDIS than the Doctor does, always reading the script in advance to know where and when to go, at specific times in the Doctor's personal timeline which is to normal time what a massive string of spaghetti is to a ruler. And that's probably why whatever the "TARDIS Souls" are were used by the Time Lords. I know that the actual shapeshifting time machine part was grown rather than built, but where the powerful hypercomputing intellect came from I have no idea; were the TARDIS Souls actually manufactured as supercomupters, or did they naturally grow and live wild in timeless places where the fabric of reality was weak, fished out of their natural habitat by Time Lords seeking to bind them to the great machines as prophetic navigators? Also, TARDIS Souls does kinda sound like what would happen if From Software made a Doctor Who game, with a Time Lord traveling through history fighting eldritch abominations and claiming their souls.
I wish the Dalek's were so blatantly evil. They'd be fun allies. I love them so much. [editline]25th September 2012[/editline] I don't know how that would happen, really especially now that apparently they don't know who the doctor is but we do know that they can resist the hive mind. so maybe there's like a rogue group of daleks fighting for freedom from the hivemind or something like the geth and legion fuck i want a dalek companion
Doctor-Commander, we are uncertain whether or not we should exterminate this pony.
Ahahahah, some of the people on the subreddit are freaking out as some people have been saying that the Ponds are leaving this season, calling it a spoiler.
He does drop them back just after they left, the thing is they're aging faster than their friends as they're going off and spending weeks in the Tardis then coming back a few seconds later. Do that on and off for years and people are going to start to notice.
Also we know that sometimes the Doctor is less a master of space and time (or should I say 'lord' hahahuhuhuhu) and is more a wanderer; oftentimes he doesn't have complete control over where or when the Tardis will take him. We see him have perfectly accurate control one day and almost no control the next (The Eleventh Hour). This is also shown in the Power of Three when people mentioned that Amy and Rory would often be gone for 'months at a time' [editline]26th September 2012[/editline] latelatelate
You know what's been bugging me this entire goddamn season? If the Doctor is the master of space and time, why do Amy and Rory complain about being gone months at a time? Why can't the Doctor just drop them off 5 minutes after they left? I'm pretty sure the tardis is capable of being that specific.
You only started watching like, four episodes ago, and you're "pretty sure" the TARDIS is capable of being "that specific". Come on, now. You can't HONESTLY expect us to take you seriously with... Well, with anything you say about the series, right? [editline]26th September 2012[/editline] Also, what everyone else said before me.
The TARDIS goes wherever "she" wants to go, and even then the Doctor can't pilot her correctly at the best of times (He leaves the parking brake on because he likes the sound it makes)
I like the sound the TARDIS makes. It's my message tone.
For some reason I would like to see the doctor meet Doc Brown or Bill and ted to talk about time travel.

I just imagine the doctor coming out of the tardis outside some intergalactic café while bill and ted compare their phonebox to the tardis and go "woah", he then tells them to get out of the way just before the delorean appears goes into a powerslide and slides right into a parking space.
So i was just wondering did the master ever talk about the sound of the drums in the old series?
So i was just wondering did the master ever talk about the sound of the drums in the old series?
no RTD invented it
rtd inventing things since 2005
can the doctor speak every language? I mean we've seen him speak baby and horse, does that mean that he can understand what every animal is saying, even little insects and things?

I'll trust's The Telegraph's generous review. Because the critics are never wrong. But I do know a good number of Who fans who already tuned in for a singular reason. But I had a good reason for missing it. I was busy watching Blink...
can the doctor speak every language? I'm pretty sure the TARDIS speaks it for him, and he has to consciously think "speak baby" otherwise he'd hear all the animals and such.
A few variations of an old New Zealand super-annuation advert starring Tom Baker as The Doctor. "Now, I'm not saying that a regular savings plan would have saved the Krakenoids on Tarr Seven from a life of financial drudgery and dependence - then again, you never know."
Just saw this in LMAO pics
I'm pretty sure the TARDIS speaks it for him, and he has to consciously think "speak baby" otherwise he'd hear all the animals and such.
The TARDIS also translates for the companions but they have never been shown to understand animals or babies.
I'm rewatching The Eleventh Hour. It's probably one of my favourite episodes, and the beginning part with Amelia is brilliant. With the whole rebooting of the universe, does that mean none of this actually happened, but Amy, Rory and the Doctor remember it?
Everything up until June 26th 2010 happened. Everything after that happened during the Pandorica never existed. Basically, imagine a gap between June 26th 2010 at whatever time the TARDIS exploded and literally a microsecond after that, with everything that happened during the Pandorica inside it.
Ah awesome. Also, does anyone know if Amy's life has depended on the fact he's "a mad man with a box" yet?
The TARDIS also translates for the companions but they have never been shown to understand animals or babies.
Maybe the Doctor is just an extremely sick Bipolar mental patient imagining everything around him.
The TARDIS also translates for the companions but they have never been shown to understand animals or babies.
Maybe the Doctor's brain has the right lobes for one to have the faculties for deeper understanding of things other than adult sapients? Either that or the TARDIS has an app for it that only the Doctor can use; prevent his companions from going a bit Dolittle-loopy from the extra understanding.
Anyone even noticed that the Doctor never uses his psychic paper any more? Or did he last episode? I can't remember.
It seems to have turned into a communicator, rather than a lying device.
It was always capable of being a communicator, especially in the Tennant years. He used it as both, Eleven just seems to be using it as a comm so far.
I can't remember where but didn't he flash it in S5 sometime?
