If you are idle, having the odd prank call spices thing up a bit and gives you something to talk about. Disclaimer: That was a call in which I manually processed 11 orders that were all pending for system issues from dates of 4 days to a month, and which that customer had spoken with 4 supervisors who could also not process any of the orders. Gives me a good feeling on calls like that, and that's why I'm still working there. Then again, there are also calls in which I agree with the customer that something should be done, but I honestly cannot do anything with regards to the issue at hand. I can't even manually process orders anymore thanks to policy changes, although that same changes meant that when I can process orders, I can do a lot more with them.

Remember that website where someone tried to cancel AOL service and the rep began a strategy that seemed to be geared to get the customer to hang up so that the service would not be canceled?
