What I am trying to get at is: Why do you give a fuck, they're bugs
I don't know, it just seems a bit unecessary and vaguely cruel, really.
if you are going to pull out these kinds of strawmen, you could also imply you love bacteria who have the same basic lifestyle and sense for pain.
I never implied I love either group represented there. I just found his justification to be silly. "Its just a bug" "its just a cat" "Its just a bacterium" "Its just $1000" All of these statements mean nothing because there are no reasons to back them. And for the record, I do love bugs, and bacterium, and cats. if I could avoid killing them and see no consequence, I would.
Oh god it's just like The Thorn from New Vegas.
This is pretty cruel, in my opinion.
This is no different than smacking a mosquito off your arm.
Call me a cynic, but I have no mercy for bugs.
This is no different than smacking a mosquito off your arm.
Actually, this show is giving them a chance of survival, so smacking a mosquito would be worse.
Lol at ppl trying to argue logical fallacies in order to justify there finding of this cruel....... hahaha
They also had this on their site: http://www.gladiatorbugs.com/natural-environment/41-30-hornets-vs-30000-bees.html Which led me to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xbqs7vfOIok
"I am Lucanus Cervus Judaicus, father of a murdered son, husband of a murdered wife. And I will have my revenge, in this life or the next."
This is no different than smacking a mosquito off your arm.
> killing an insect that is trying to feed off you > making two insects fight to the death for personal enjoyment yes yes exactly the same. no difference at all. completely justified
Why is the scorpion fisting @1:25 in OP's movie??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2BukwAT9H7M&t=1m25s
Don't insects/similar creepy crawlies beat us in terms of sheer population on our planet? I don't see them fighting to the death for entertainment a problem. I think school kids in Japan even collect the beetles and such off of trees and have them fight. Someone verify that, please.
Why do people give a fuck about cats? I mean, they're just cats.
Try to pet and feed a scorpion without having it clamping your fingers off and stinging you to hell. Its like burning ants. [editline]18th March 2012[/editline]
> killing an insect that is trying to feed off you > making two insects fight to the death for personal enjoyment yes yes exactly the same. no difference at all. completely justified
Oh my god, its an insect. Not even PeTA gives a fuck about them! You step out into your yard and you kill a bunch of them with your foot. What about now?
if you are going to pull out these kinds of strawmen, you could also imply you love bacteria who have the same basic lifestyle and sense for pain.
you're an idiot
I never implied I love either group represented there. I just found his justification to be silly. And for the record, I do love bugs, and bacterium, and cats. if I could avoid killing them and see no consequence, I would.
The consequence of these bugs not dying would be that somebody wasn't making any kind of revenue of this show, I am writing this because I want you to know that when I say "Who gives a fuck, they're bugs" I am saying that because in my daily interaction with insects they will with a 100% chance be an annoying asset. And I know they're important and stuff, doesn't change the reality that one or a hundred of them won't make any significant impact on anything. Also I am human and I can't relate to human sized stuff, such as cute and furry animals like cats, I cannot sympathise with a living organism smaller than my nail. If I did I might as well drop into a depression whenever my sperm doesn't swim where nature intended it to- so in conclusion I don't give a fuck because they're bugs. I can also justify this to myself.
I value entertainment a lot higher than a few insects surviving another day doing jack all all day. I can also justify this to myself.
Enjoy pulling the wings off flies, then?
Enjoy pulling the wings off flies, then?
That's no a very efficient way to kill a fly.
Insects are murdering each other en masse out in the wilderness. This does not phase me.
ITT:BUGS HAVE FEELINGS TOO!/THEY'RE JUST BUGS.
I want them to use spiders and tarantula hawks.
I want them to use spiders and tarantula hawks.

The female tarantula hawk captures, stings, and paralyzes the spider, then either drags her prey back into her own burrow or transports it to a specially prepared nest, where a single egg is laid on the spider’s abdomen, and the entrance is covered. When the wasp larva hatches, it creates a small hole in the spider's abdomen, then enters the spider's abdomen and feeds voraciously, avoiding vital organs for as long as possible to keep the spider alive. After several weeks, the larva pupates. Finally, the wasp becomes an adult, and emerges from the spider's abdomen. The wasp emerges from the nest to continue the life cycle.
:suicide:
:suicide:
Now imagine a tarantula hawk that goes after humans.
So this is what happens when tentacle rape porn is no longer entertaining...
I'm almost positive that I heard that Japanese kids commonly collect bugs and make them fight each other, and that it was the inspiration behind pokemon.
there was a store in japan where they sold insects like these. i bought one and kept it as a pet :v:
Now genetically engineer the bugs to be like 100x the size and that'll be interesting to watch
Now genetically engineer the bugs to be like 100x the size and that'll be interesting to watch
It will also make bugs 100000% more likely to cause the apocalypse.
> killing an insect that is trying to feed off you > making two insects fight to the death for personal enjoyment yes yes exactly the same. no difference at all. completely justified
Yeah just go outside and let shit bite you until you get lyme disease okay
