same shitty engine they're just being like CoD now, forcing out rehashed shit because they're too afraid to advance and spend time risking money well I'll tell you what if they put actual THOUGHT into a better engine, or at least made upgrades like better view distance LOD's, SSAO, FXAA, ambient occlusion, sharper textures, bokeh DoF in the right cinematic sequences.. the game would probably look so, so much better and it would make up for the repetitive gameplay
The engine was actually given quite an overhaul in AC III, and it looks pretty damn good. You can see graphical improvements with every single AC game if you pay attention.
Did they finish the desmond arc in III? Like every AC game I got incredibly bored and disillusioned partway through and stopped playing. If they did finish with desmond, can we get rid of that stupid framing device that NO ONE liked? stop taking us out of the good part of the game to do some shit in the furure with characters we couldn't give a shit about [editline]26th March 2013[/editline]
same shitty engine they're just being like CoD now, forcing out rehashed shit because they're too afraid to advance and spend time risking money well I'll tell you what if they put actual THOUGHT into a better engine, or at least made upgrades like better view distance LOD's, SSAO, FXAA, ambient occlusion, sharper textures, bokeh DoF in the right cinematic sequences.. the game would probably look so, so much better and it would make up for the repetitive gameplay
It looks quite a bit better tbh. And honestly no amount of graphical fidelity redeems assassins creed's ability to just drag like fuck 1/2 to 3/4s of the way through the game

Seems just like a carry-over from AC3, but with a different setting and story.
why would an assassin seek infamy? wouldn't that be a bad thing if you're trying to be an assassin?
why would an assassin seek infamy? wouldn't that be a bad thing if you're trying to be an assassin?
Because they need an excuse to continue using the unneeded naval combat and because they're trying to appeal to the "pirate lovers" crowd.
[sp]He died at the end of Assassin's Creed 3[/sp]
YES! this game is gonna be fucking amazing
Because they need an excuse to continue using the unneeded naval combat and because they're trying to appeal to the "pirate lovers" crowd.
Unneeded? Naval combat was one of the best parts of AC3.
I wish this was a new IP
??? they did the same thing with ac2 and the 2 titles after. this is no different.
I personally didn't like either of those games after AC2
Unneeded? Naval combat was one of the best parts of AC3.
After playing the naval combat for the very first time, and especially after finishing the game and realizing how mostly-disappointing Connor and the story in general was I felt like AC3 should have instead been about a Revolutionary War-era American privateer.

Looked quite much like a technically impressive engine to me. The way it processes animation is stunning from my point of view and you go compare it to something which is the Quake3 engine with shaders and cardboard physics applied onto. Not only that does this game is also going to have a once again revamped combat system that uses the environment more and what seems to be underwater mechanics. I can see past my fan-spectacles and yes I see that they are re-using a whole lot of assets. But they are adding a fair bit to this too. Your argument would be standing fair if AC3 would have used Anvil and rehashed all the combat animations from the previous title and added little to nothing new. So the comparison you made falls flat.
This really looks like a pirate game with the Assassins Creed name thrown in. Should be its own thing to be honest.
