The blood effects don't fit in my opinion.
Not dark enough.
I'm probably going to have to at least try this out simply because GiTS is my favorite show and FPS is my favorite game genre.
My avatar will be relevant again. Amazing. Though I think it looks a bit too much like mindless action to really do the GITS story justice.
Action was such a minor element of Ghost in the Shell. The major elements were politics, investigation, and a whole lot of technology porn. That trailer looks nothing like what a GITS game should be like.
There's literally no decent cyberpunk shooters. Having the visual elements of a cyberpunk piece but none of the soul, atmosphere or themes does not make it cyberpunk.
E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy had it's own charm and was good, however while it is cyberpunk, it's only singleplayer and it focuses more on supernatural than technology.

I totally thought this was going to be in the style of the PS1 game. I would prefer to ride walls and play a more arcade like approach instead of the run and gun first person that this is going for.
I kinda have mixed feelings about this. I love the GitS feature films for being just all around good dystopian scifi, but also for the art style. This is one of the truly unique and important aspects of GitS that can also be translated to the video game format and strangely the one thing I didn't find in the trailer. It all looked very generic 2010 military scifi-y, the design of the prosthetic limbs, armor but especially the environments. You can really play the strengths of the franchise there with the dystopian, urban neo-tokyo setting, I don't know why in the world they went for generic industrial crap. There are not a whole lot of things you can translate from the movie and series, over to the game format, I get the impression they only bothered with characters and voice acting but replaced the rest with generic scifi. Even the guns are current models, not the great military fiction pieces that would be another strong point of the universe that would translate perfectly into a game. And what was this weird mecha-thing at the end? The GitS universe is filled with cool industrial armor designs, this fits nowhere near those. Blacklight and Neotokyo for hl2 did a really good job of carrying the cool aspects of GitS over into a game but this just looks like a generic scifi shooter with GitS character skins.

I really liked the art and animation of the first GiTS film, extremely talented team overall.
Looks like another generic combat arms/cod style shooter with classes, only with GITS logo slapped on.
I love Ghost in the Shell, but Nexon working on it, yep, going to be bad
I really liked the art and animation of the first GiTS film, extremely talented team overall.
It's funny, because the original Ghost in the Shell movie was nothing like the manga. It focused a lot on the question what made a human a human in a world where cyborgs are as common as smartphones, and the only remaining organic part in them is a part of the brain. In the manga that's covered in only a handful of pages, and it's more of a casual subject rather than a real question. The movie is pretty much what Ghost in the Shell would be like if it was written by a depressed, lonely man. The Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex series is a far more faithful animated version of Ghost in the Shell.
people seem to forget that the first season of GITS SAC was police drama with focus on philosophy and metaphysics commentary while the second season was military drama with more focus on action. following that pattern GITS online is far from illogical, but since it's a side we haven't seen before it seems somewhat out of place. my bottom line is that if masamune shirow is okay with it, then so am i.
