Oh my God I fucking loved that movie as a kid, I still have it on VHS but I don't have a video player to watch it on.
I've been looking for this movie for a while. I only have faint memories of it since it was a childhood movie. It was probably made in 80's/early 90's and it's animated. Here's the few details I can spare:
It probably had a scene with hot air balloons.
There may have been parts where the main character was minimized due to magic or something.

that movie is awful, just read the short story its much better
Oh god that movie.
I loved how for no apparent reason at all that one guy(or girl?) turns into a blue monkey or some shit in the end.
A man shits himself in a toilet in a cabin in some snowy woods.
Stephen King movie I think.
i have a feeling that it was one of the teenage mutant ninja turtles movies.
That helps so much!
what the hell snip
Some guy who is super strong meets a guy played by morgan freeman who has really weak bones and it turns out he's like a terrorist or something trying to find somebody who was the opposite of him. The protagonist survived a train crash without a scratch I think and that's how morgan freeman found him. I think at one point the guy's son pulls a gun on him to try and prove he's invincible ... I've forgotten most of the details.

Unbreakable.
And it's Samuel L. Jackson, not Morgan Freeman.

Gulliver's Travels?
Okay I watched this film about time travel, only when the guy goes back in time he meets his child self and has to pretend to be his own father (who left him before he was even born) and in the end he ends up having sex with his own mum and she gives birth to this disabled child. Then the man takes the disabled kid and locks him in the time machine, sending him 2000 years into the past to die. He tells the mum that the boy died tragically from his wheelchair failing to break as he headed off a cliff. The man is in a dilema though because he broke the time machine in the last time he used it and doesn't know how to fix it.
I missed the ending of the film so I don't know what happened.
I have no clue...
Its that movie about that guy and he does that thing... Ya'Know.
Try this one:
A doctor moves to work in a small village clinic. I remembe the opening was the man driving in an open top car on the road with the song "I am the one and only"
EDIT: It was Doc Hollywood

was it a miyazaki sort of animated or a western sort of animated?
This one's very vague, but I know it's a horror movie.
In it, they're in a house or something and a lion head swoops down and decapitates a guy, leaving the head in the lion's mouth as it swings all the way through.
Fucked me up as a kid.

I don't quite remember but if I had to guess I'd say Western.
That helps so much!
dude theres only like 3 of them. and you said that nostalgia critic reviewed it. just go to his website and find which TMNT he reviewed. is that so difficult?

The Haunting.

hmm.
and those are the only details you remember?
Saw some clips on YouTube. WW1 movie. Seemed rather modern, maybe from the 90's or 00's. Only thing I remember was a machine gun mowing down people as they run in the trenches, resulting in people falling over each other. This might sound like every WW1 movie, but that's all I remember.

There may have been a scene involving gold at the end but that may easily be false.
