Whats the difference between a chord and a power chord?
Power chords aka 5-chords only contain the root, the fifth, and the octave. And as HairyArmpit said, they are mainly used when you alot of distortion as open chords will sound too messy.
ugh.. why does everyone like the Emily the Strange guitar? It's such a girly scene brand.
It's just the Epiphone SG-310 but moar expensive for some artwork on it
Meh, learning the solo to In The Name of God by Dream Theater and I don't have enough frets...

Got a Mexican Strat, I call her Pabla, she only has 21 frets to play with.

Also it's hard to do legato phrases while bending, maybe I'll get used to it though.
Getting back in to playing after taking a while off.
1. My Little Finger keeps locking at the End-Joint ( I have no idea of it's proper name, but it's the one that connects your tip to the main body of your finger) and it's doing my head in.
2. Pinch Harmonics are doing my head in when my Pinky isn't.

D'oh. I don't know about doing legato phrases with bending, never tried that. Give it a go though!
I also have an Ibanez bass and a rather aged acoustic guitar, but here's my main instrument: The Laguna LE 524.

It plays pretty well. I also used to have an old Johnson electric, but it sucked.
i love the headstock on that
in fact the whole guitar just looks great
I found a video of it, but the guy talks more than he plays:

How does it feel? I've been playing on a Squier P-Bass for three years, so I hope it plays nicely. :3:
By the way, I haven't actually gotten it yet; I ordered it from a trusted company, so it doesn't get here until tomorrow. :saddowns:

What do the pedals do?
The Zoom G2.1u is a multi effects pedal, so it has distortion, wah effects, reverb, delay etc. I don't really like the distortion on it but I guess everyone has their opinions.
As for the vox, it's just a footswitch that changes from channel 1 to channel 2 on the amp. The other button toggles the effect that's active on and off.
Nate, we'll both be getting our Jazz Basses tomorrow if we ordered the same shipping. :buddy::hf::smug:
Check out this silly son of a bitch.

The G2 has an awesome variety of distortion. You can change it to your liking if you put some thought to it.
Or combine it with the VOX cabinets own distortion.

It's a Martin
I don't care what it is
It's a Martin
Martins fucking own
They're the only acoustics I've played that I actually LIKE the feel of.
I think I'm about ready to join a band. My friends told me that I should really start auditioning.
Anyway, can someone recommend me a good cheap bass.
