Squier's Vintage Modified series is pretty damn good. Also look into Yamaha or Peavey.
From a North American perspective, if that's relevant to your location.

Playing on the epiphone is a bitch its got a real wide neck gave me carpel tunnel.
so i went and bought the ltd and its plays really well i would recommend it to anyone.
The first guitar reminds me of The Doors, i would love to have one!

Has anyone ever used a Teisco bass? Any opinions on them?
:smugdog: I figured out how to do tapped harmonics... I know it isn't something incredibly difficult but it's still cool as hell :clint:

I tried learning pinch harmonics from a lot of sources, couldn't do it. Then while playing I noticed I was doing then a lot accidentally and figured out what I was doing to make them. I tried learning tapped harmonics from tutorials and couldn't figure it out. Still can't.
I have a black Fender Stratocaster at the moment, but I used to have a Les Paul that I really enjoyed playing more until it broke. Man I miss that guitar.

Tapped harmonics are a pain in the ass
They just happen for me every now and again, but I can't get them to ring consistently. It's really annoying to learn if you ask me, and I've yet to see a real need for them.

Don't customise it unless you really know what you are doing. I might come up with some ideas later.
Anyone here play persian scales?
Hey Guys I have a question. I just started learning to play guitar but I just can't hold down all 6 of the strings, the problem is my fingers they are really small, and my guitars" neck " is not that big so it's my fingers :S Any advice?
So turns out the bass player in my band accidentaly wrote a riff in Phrygian which worked out in the song. So far the song sounds really good.
so this post is related:

Why do you need to hold down all 6 strings?
barre chords?
barre chords?
Ah yes. I never found barre chords hard. My fingers are pretty big though.
argh I have a grounding problem with my bass, it makes this ugly buzz, and crackles when I touch the strings with a pick, but if I touch anything that's metal with my fingers, it seems like they act as a shield or something, cuz the buzz stops
Dean make dimes.
uhhh he said washburn
SSsssooooo... What about my problem? I can't play half of the stuff i learn because of my fingers...

Have you got a pic of the notes used in the scales? Sound like they'd be fun to mess around with.
