that persian scale doesn't sound very cool imo [editline]06:02PM[/editline] I usually play Blackwater Park, either of the Patterns In the Ivys(I play II a lot more), Coil, Weakness, and Demon Of the Fall
Check out this silly son of a bitch. I've got one and I love it.
I tried to play that piece of shit at Guitar Center once. All of its weight is in the neck which makes it incredibly uncomfortable to play.
SSsssooooo... What about my problem? I can't play half of the stuff i learn because of my fingers...
Practice more. Work on stretching exercises, and all the standard exercises. Unless you have brittle bone syndrome or some other similar defect, it's not your fingers that are the problem, it's your practice. [editline]11:24PM[/editline]
Hey Guys I have a question. I just started learning to play guitar but I just can't hold down all 6 of the strings, the problem is my fingers they are really small, and my guitars" neck " is not that big so it's my fingers :S Any advice?
Practice. You're fingers don't have enough strength, and the only way to help them is to practice. Also try using one of these It'll improve your grip really fast.
And kill you in the process
And kill you in the process
No, that method works really well, just like hitting your fingers with a hammer.
Perhaps
I tried to play that piece of shit at Guitar Center once. In my opinion they're much more comfortable to play than classical acoustic guitars, and they only weigh probably two pounds.
why did this thread died?
I'm trying to learn myself this little guitar trick where you move your pick over your string, but for some reason, I can't get the "sliding" sound you often hear in songs. Any advices?
Try experimenting with holding the pick in different angles, I'm not too good at that either but I can usually manage with some training.

I just got my Line 6 Pod Studio and it's pretty awesome. Does what it does nicely. Thusly my first properly sounding cover (Nirvana's In Bloom): http://filesmelt.com/downloader/Laurens_-_In_Bloom.mp3 I know, it's such a cliché, but it's an easy song and I've only started playing the guitar like 6 months ago. Solo is sloppy as shit, just learned it today.
Different angle, put more power when sliding it
With the angle being? I tried a few.
Oh, how do i get the screech sound when i bend?
Oh, how do i get the screech sound when i bend?
Pinch harmonics, hit the string between the thumb and your pick.
Oh, how do i get the screech sound when i bend?
You mean the squeal? [editline]01:30PM[/editline]
Pinch harmonics, hit the string between the thumb and your pick.
That ^

Any advices?
I had a friend show me how to do it. Basically, start at the bridge, tilt the pick so the part closest to the strings is slightly tilted toward the headstock, and move the pick slowly.

I've been playing lots of Green Day. Tons of fun for just power chords.
Well, this is my first post on this thread. Haha, I made a eruption cover (this is a version "of mine", since I changed some parts a bit): I have 9 months of practice, and I am self taught, so dont be too harsh on me :( also, excuse me for my weird faces :O (Lol read description if possible)
I've been playing lots of Green Day. Tons of fun for just power chords.
same here. I started by learning that. it's kinda easy. now I'm more into system of a down.
My almighty fender passive five string and my Oean active/passive switch basses are amazing. I'll get pics up tomorrow. And of course 300 watt head and superbass button.
same here. I started by learning that. it's kinda easy. now I'm more into system of a down.
Lol I've been playing for 4 years and am just getting into it. Set myself with some low expectations first because I've been sucking recently.

Put an elastic band round your fingers and push outward, Nothing more to it! I'm still playing my two trusty basses! - They've not let me down yet and they are getting gigged to hell and back. Musicman stingray Cort GB99B I can't see myself getting any other basses, these two just Do it for me.
 GBs.
What did you record in? Riffworks?
Recorded in Reaper. Used Guitar Rig 3 as a VST plugin. Works like a charm.
Should we maybe talk about amps in this thread or make a separate thread.
Should we maybe talk about amps in this thread or make a separate thread.
Agreed for seperate, do it faggot
Recorded in Reaper. Used Guitar Rig 3 as a VST plugin. Works like a charm.
For some reason, whenever I use guitar rig 3 it gives me a lot of delay :(
You need an ASIO complianty soundcard, Or use ASIO4ALL. Anything else and it's damn near unusable!
