Even then, the majority of non pointy guitars don't look like that. And to tell the truth that design is pretty funny.
My Point is, that a guitar like this:

is far better looking than this:

That explorer shape is pretty ugly, but some pointy guitars look awesome.
This one for example:

opinion =/= fact
Thing is, non-pointy guitars got that shape for some reason. To improve the sound, which is important when you don't just use gratuitous amounts of gain and active pickups

IMO this one is even uglier.
Thinking about getting a Les Paul custom, anyone got experience with those guitars?

I really like playing these because they sit nicely on my leg, where the les pauls and other round models slide off.

but i hate Vs cause theyre even worse

That is the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard.
That is the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard.
Hmm? Compare the sound of an arch topped guitar with a flat top, same shape.
The sound difference -is- noticeable.
Then check the sustain on a massive guitar like a LP with a lighter one like a Strat.
That is the biggest load of bullshit I have ever heard.
What are you calling bullshit on?
Yes body shape DOES affect tone
NO, Non-pointy shapes aren't really "Best" for tone.
Personally, I believe the wood itself makes much more difference.
Love Ash bodies.

PROTIP
Don't get a Les Paul because everyone and their dads has a Les Paul.

I only know 2 people with a les paul everyone else either has a V or a stratocaster.

That's why you should have at least 2 extra packs of strings.

guess which one is more expensive
PROTIP

By that basis he shouldn't have a guitar at all since it's more popular than, say, trombone.
So instead, get a trombone. :downs:
guess which one is more expensive
Well, despite the fact that PRS is infinitely better then an ESP, and is significantly more expensive, that doesn't mean there can't be a cheap guitar that looks good and isn't pointy.
