After Getting my new guitar I'll save for a Marshall amp, or maybe a Mesa boogie if I'm feeling rich.
OR just get a vox, they sound like sex, or so I've heard.

Dunno on the price, I paid like $1400 for it few years ago but I'm thinking something like $1100.
Holy god in heaven. That's sexy.

I'm considering buying this. But, inexperienced as I am, i have a pretty stupid question. Is the tremolo on this guitar locking? Will I have to go through all that floyd rose bullshit? Because that is not something that I want at all.

No, it looks like a normal bridge.

I can testify to this. While the only VOX's I've ever used or owned are the VT ones I can say that the VT's have a massive range of sounds available and sound really good.

LOVING THOSE INLAYS
Nice colours too, if that was in green it'd be sex

Yeah, it's a normal (non-locking) bridge
But I do have an honest question
Why the hell are you buying a PRS custom if you're calling yourself "inexperienced?"
That's a pretty pricey guitar for pretty much anyone. I'd get a normal PRS at best instead, or perhaps an Ibanez.
Don't go spending thousands of dollars on a new guitar just to realize you don't really want to play all the time or for money.

He might have the dedication to play for years, and as such just wants to skip all the sorta intermediate stage guitars.
I'm gonna try that with my amps, mind im gonna give building tube amps professionally a shot.
Does anybody here know where I can find tabs for The Black River by The Sword? I learned some of their other stuff but I just can't find any tabs for that particular song. If anyone could find me some or possibly tab them out that would be great.

That's an PRS SE Paul Allender, and it's only about $700-$800.
I was looking at one the other day.
Oh wait, I didn't realize I was logged in as my friend. Oh well :P

I'm great at guitar, I just don't know the parts very well due to the fact that I've only had a squire stratocaster. And, like the other guy said, it's only about 600-700 dollars.

You are in luck, thats the only other color it comes in (and, most likely, the color I will be getting it in).

I own a few acoustic guitars my favorite being my Taylor GS5 <3.

Oh wow well now I feel retarded. For some reason I wanted that to be a Custom 24.
Which is especially disappointing since I just saw two played tonight (Pagan's Mind opening for Stratovarius at the Nokia Theater).
Fucking beautiful guitars. Really love the way they sound, and the shape looks just right for what I want in a guitar. Now to just get the money...

No, all PRS stock models use a in house designed tremolo. I have one and it's good. Doesn't go out of tune that much but you don't need to go through all that floyd rose bullshit.
I definitely suggest a PRS SE as a starter. I started out with a shitty Yamaha and then quickly updated to my SE Custom which is so much better. I was actually able to learn better on it.
However, I would suggest a regular SE Custom unless you specifically want metal. The SE Custom has much more versatile pickups which suit most styles, while the Paul Allender model is absolutely fantastic for metal, but not as good as an SE Custom all round. Just take your specific taste into account.
And please, for the sake of all that is good, get it in green.

Interesting tremolo on that LP, it's not a Bigsby
Ok, guys, so my guitar just stopped working. That's right, stopped working. I'm happily playing along to Uprising by Muse (An awesome song might I add), and bang, sound stops coming out of my amp. I checked the innards of my guitar, all the soldering's fine, as is the jack. The amp still has power, but is only buzzing, getting no sound from the guitar its self. Attempts to disassemble it have been unsuccessful because the screws are so fucking tight. I'm pretty sure it's not the lead but I have no means of testing it as of yet (Lost my adaptors and my 3mm lead)

Use this as an excuse to get a really nice new guitar.
FUCK FUCKINGTON McDOUCHEHAMMOCKS BUCKET WEINER GRANNY PUBE SOCKS TROUT
I can't decide which guitar I want.
I've been wanting to get into classical music lately, does anyone play? What did you guys start out with?

How I wish I was in a situation where I could already have an sL2, and still be looking for more guitars.

Tube amp or solid state?
It's been a long time since I first posted my Epiphone LP Standard in the guitar subforum, so I'm going to show off all the various things I've bought over the past two years for the sole reason of "I can".

In order of purchase:
Epiphone Les Paul Standard (only partially visible because it's a Les Paul, everyone knows what it looks like)
2006 MIM Fender Stratocaster 60's Reissue (3 tone burst, SSS configuration)
Traynor YCS 50 (50w 6L6-driven tube amp, does a convincing Fenderish clean and can get pretty good tone if you set it right for the dirt channel. speaker is a 12" Celestion Vintage 30)
Marshall JCM2000 DSL50 (also 50w, EL34-driven and hella loud. it also does a surprisingly good clean considering it's a Marshall and they're not known for that sort of thing)
And the pedals (in order of purchase):

EHX Little Big Muff Pi, it's a pretty decent fuzz pedal if you set it right (otherwise it destroys ears in a totally unpleasant way)
Ibanez TS9 Tubescreamer, an exceptionally good overdrive pedal, works wonders in front of both the Traynor and the Marshall for getting an extra boost when needed
Dunlop Cry Baby 95Q, a pretty cool switchless wah with a couple useful features (specifically the red switch is a volume boost, and the two knobs control pedal volume and "Q", which is basically how far the filter sweeps)
Here's my rig:
Fender customized MIA Tele
Peavey Classic 50 with Celestion Vintage 30's
and my effects board

Do you play live loompa
How I wish I was in a situation where I could already have an sL2, and still be looking for more guitars.
Bleh. I don't like the SL2h loads. I don't really want to sell it unless I could get at least £900 for it. Even then I still don't know if I would sell it.
Tube amp or solid state?
I'd assume solid state.
My theory is that the lead is playing up and one of my friends suggested this to me today too, but it stopped working very suddenly and I don't think I did anything to damage it at that point, which is why I'm still not entirely sure. Both my amp and guitar have been left in a friend's basement for the past 2 weeks or so but they were fine down there, it was only once I'd had it home for a couple of days that it stopped working.
Does it matter what the fingerboard is made out of? Apart from the looks. I've seen stuff like, "a fast ebony fingerboard" or "a maple fingerboard makes it a real gigger's choice"
I love the feel of a maple guitar fretboard+neck. They're usually finished like the necks, so they feel smoother.
Doubt that helps you, though.
