Ibanez guitars usually are made out of basswood.
That doesn't mean that all of them are.
Dream Theater sucks. It's a bunch of guys who decided to over pack songs with a bunch of arpeggios and sweep solos that have no feel whatsoever. Listen to some Hendrix. Learn guitar the right way.
I like Hendrix too. And Glimour. And Satriani. And Petrucci has feel, it's just not as prevalent in DT because they're a progressive metal band, hence the speed and tone.
petrucci's solo album owns
petrucci's solo album owns
Same with Liquid Tension Experiment. People just assume DT is all Petrucci has ever done. I like everything he's done really, but that's just one example of one type of playing from him. Anyway, back on the topic of guitars we go! Apparently the guitarist from Stratovarius and the guitarist from Pagan's Mind both play PRS guitars. Saw 'em last week together, awesome show.
What is DT?
What is DT?
It's just short for Dream Theater.
What is pole spacing on a guitar/pickups? I want to buy some Dimarzio Tone Zones (yeah I got over EMGs... after all that fuss) and a website I found says this: "These pickups come with different pole spacing options. Almost all Gibson and Ibanez style guitars use F spaced pole pieces. Please select the required size and provide us with the make and model of your guitar to help us supply the correct pickup." I have no idea what any of that means.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b93/tezzanator/pik.jpg IIRC, F Spacing means "Floyd Rose Spacing", note there are fixed bridges which have a floyd spacing.
Does anyone know of any guitar brands that use Dimarzios in their guitars?
Does anyone know of any guitar brands that use Dimarzios in their guitars?
Ibanez does if I am not mistaken.
Ibanez does if I am not mistaken.
Yeah they do, but they don't have any good ones, all the prestige models have Dimarzios that are made specially for ibanez, and I'm guessing they're a bit cheaper and not as good as normal Dimarzios
When by Opeth is kinda easy to pick up this time around before I was like wtf aghhhhh
Does anyone know of any guitar brands that use Dimarzios in their guitars?
Musicman
Okay here's the plan, sell the SL2H and Get a SL2HT (exactly the same but with a fixed bridge) Then put some dimarzios in it. Anyone in the UK want to buy a SL2H? I'm looking to get at least £750 for it. Brand new this guitar would cost over £2000.
Just put my ernie ball not even slinkies 12 - 56's on my guitar and i have to get my guitar adjusted for them. YAY!!!!!!!! also i have now realised high gauges fail hard for hammers and pulls offs and bends take all the strenght your hand can possibly muster. What the fuck why was i rated dumb?
just a question, slash les paul, most of them are in the tobacco sunburst color?
just a question, slash les paul, most of them are in the tobacco sunburst color?
yep.
I got an Epiphone Les Paul standard last weekend, which I absolutely love, but my little practice amplifier really isn't getting the best sound out of the guitar. Are there any decent sounding amps that aren't too expensive that you guys would recommend? I don't care about effects and stuff, just one that will really allow my guitar to sound better than on the amp I have at the moment.

Although I think fender increased their prices recently so I don't know if that's still the case.
Peavey Vypyr, played it instore and i fell in love with it. It's fucking brilliant.
Also in this situation, have been for like 2 years >_< What finish did you get the LP in?
A slightly darker tone of Cherry Sunburst, looks absolutely brilliant in the right light :)
So... Just bought a rather nice SL2HT. Sellin' my old SL2H, hopefully I should make enough on it to justify the purchase of this new one.

You might even want to consider the Epiphone Junior thing or its clone, the Harley Benton GA-5 which I've heard is actually decent for a chinese or whatever copy.

Holy shit I might actually sell my old guitar, the guy I bought it from had put it on eBay 3 times without any interest. And now I put it on, it's been 3 hours since I started it, I already have 5 people watching the item and one guy has already asked if he could come to my house and try it!
