Gah everyone is broke. Someone please buy it :( Anyone from FP can have it for £900 One person wanted to trade it for a Jackson RR1, which is pretty cool, but unfortunately it's not what I'm looking for.
Before you buy the next one maybe play it first? So you know it's the right one :)
I have an RG120, are EMG pickups any better than the ones already built in? I like the look of EMG's.
Well, EMG's are better when you play metal and other high gain stuff.
Well, EMG's are better when you play metal and other high gain stuff.
Yep. EMG actives are metal/hard rock pickups, and sound bloody awesome in that role.
But only consider EMGs (or active pickups in general) if you have a nice tube amp, the little preamps inside the pickup are designed to drive your amp more. They're fine on SS amps as well, but they only show their true potential in a tube amp.
I'm considering getting some EMGs too, but I have a 15w Laney amp, would it be a worthy investment on their own or should I get a new amp too?

What would be a good budget amp then?
Hey guys, I'm gonna get another set of strings for my classical guitar today. Could you guys recommend me any good brands?
Hey guys, I'm gonna get another set of strings for my classical guitar today. I use EXP17 strings for my acoustic and EXL110 strings for my electric.

The one that doesn't have as much tight winding?
What would be a good budget amp then?
Well that depends on musical style. There are many nice tube amps for 350-500EUR(500-700USD) If you don't have this much money atm, I suggest saving up, I'm doing the same.
Just tuned my nylon string acoustic to C# Standard and I'm learning The Great Southern Trendkill.

Would it be very hard to move from guitar to bass? But still keep playing both of course :P
Schecter Hellraiser DLX First guitar, just starting to learn how to play. The 81/85 EMG pickups are what sold it to me. :P
Would it be very hard to move from guitar to bass? But still keep playing both of course :P
Probably not, but most people who move from guitar to bass have trouble mastering it
Will do.
I can recommend you one, if you tell me what are you going to play. It helps if you have your goal set:smile:
Question for you guitarists who write music: How do you write it? Basically, I have ideas for different riffs/melodies/solos/etc. but I don't know how I should write them. How do most musicians write music? (I'm basically asking if I should write them out in tab or as notes or by some other method.)
How do most musicians write music? (I'm basically asking if I should write them out in tab or as notes or by some other method.)
Well that's up to you. If you think you'll forget something, tab it out. I don't think anyone will care if you tab it out instead of using sheet music.

Music staff makes it easier to see timing of notes. Some tabs have music staff on top so you don't have to guess the timing and duration of the note. King of page 33.
I played an Epiphone Explorer at a music storsome time ago and I completely fell in love with the sound. Explorer discussion!
I played a Gibson explorer at a guitar shop :smug:
So was thinking of metal effect stompboxes and such. I'm not exactly good with that kind of stuff cause I just normally use the amps distortion. Would anyone have any good ideas for something maybe metallica or mastodonish?
I played a Gibson explorer at a guitar shop :smug:
I looked at a noname explorer on the internet once. Beat that.
I've seen a monster V. Bite me
I've seen a monster V. Bite me
Are you sure it isn't a midget?
look at the left side of the video you can see basses and guitar and see a guy walk by who's his size... Yeah I know how to ruin a joke don't I? :downs:

Even considering that guitar would be hard as fuck to play.
