What the fuck my 2 weeks old aluminium capo snapped in half. Goddamn chinks can make even aluminium break. Surprises inside the capo, it's some very odd heat-treated aluminium cast that is hard as hell but apparently brittle. [editline]06:12PM[/editline]
Hey guys, I'm gonna get another set of strings for my classical guitar today. Could you guys recommend me any good brands?
Probably quite late, but I got Elixir coated strings, the odd slippery surface is... interesting, worth a try. I like it a lot.
I own a Gibson Explorer. [editline]10:02PM[/editline] where is your god now
Playing a Futura.
I can recommend you one, if you tell me what are you going to play. It helps if you have your goal set:smile:
Hmmm I would say I'm probably going to play a lot of breakdowns, genre is Progressive Metal but keeps a neutrality with soft clean parts also.
I looked at a noname explorer on the internet once. Beat that.
I jerked off to pictures of an Explorer on the internet once. Okay, it wasn't just once.
I own a Gibson SG suck it bitches
I own a Fender Strat suck it bitches
I own a fucking indonesian Greg Bennet guitar And stop it already I started playing with a slide recently, god I sound awful, never manage to get "in tune"
I hate V's :(
I hate V's :(
Doubles as a hunting spear or antiaircraft missile. I'm bummed, I broke a string on my Les Paul (no, not a real one) and haven't gotten around to getting new strings. I'm stuck playing Dad's Strat, and I hate Strats. EMG 81/84 > EMG passive single coils.
Dude, strings are like $3.00
sad that i have to pay more for gas to get to guitar center.
I just haven't had the time to get a decent set yet. No Guitar Center here, and the one really good music store just closed down.
Is anyone here learning how to economy pick? For those of you who did/are, I'm sure you all know it's quite a bitch if you originally started out with alternate picking. I am here just to ask if you guys have any good exercises that really help you warm up. I am using a 3 note per-string lick based off a minor harmonic scale. I am playing it at 3/4 at 144bpm. I can go to almost 160, but then I begin to mess up.
sad that i have to pay more for gas to get to guitar center.
Ditch the SUV. And like, buy more than one set? You can get shitty strings (whole set) for 1$, buy a dozen of those when your strings break at least you sound slightly shit instead of sounding nothing at all.
I have a Les Paul copy. Getting a Fender Stratocaster soon. Just learned how to play Iron Tusk and Seabeast by Mastodon. Both easy and both sound amazing. Also, getting some pedals soon. Crybaby and Big Muff Pi. What else would you guys recommend ?
Hmmm I would say I'm probably going to play a lot of breakdowns, genre is Progressive Metal but keeps a neutrality with soft clean parts also.
Well the only metal voiced small tube amp is the Blackstar HT-5, I suggest to check it out, and if you'd need more gain, get an OD pedal to boost it. But it doesn't have much headroom, so for cleans you'd have to turn down the volume. Other option is the Peavey 6505+ 112 combo, they're releasing it at the end of this month, it's 60W so plenty of headroom is available. But 6505s aren't known for nice clean sounds. Though we know nothing about it yet, gotta wait for some reviews. You can also get an amp with awesome cleans(depending on your taste of cleans), and put pedals in front of it. In this case look into the Peavey classic 30.
It is a Subaru and guitar center is still really far away.
www.musiciansfriend.com You still have to pay for shipping, but it will still be cheaper than paying for gas if you live a really far away from any guitar store.
Got 3 sets of Ernie Ball strings for 3 euros. Not really that expensive.
Back to Gibson explorers. Explorer>SG>Les Paul
Invert that, also Tele>Strat>Les Paul
Anybody know the quality of my acoustic guitar? It's a "Morris Vanguard Edition" It seems good to play, but I've only been getting lessons for a month or so and I don't know what makes a good acoustic. If anyone's intrested I'll post pics
If it sounds good for you, holds tune well and doesn't buzz while having a relatively low action, it's decent
It holds in tune fairly well, eh buzzes a bit mostly the first three frets but that's probably my abillity not the guitar Thanks for that
Hooray! I bought my new SL2HT! I haven't sold the SL2H yet sadly :frown: but I'll keep on trying to sell it, I'll probably try again nearer christmas when people are more looking to buy stuff. Hopefully the SL2HT will be here within the week.
