You should probably save up some more money and get the set up Triumph Forks suggested.
That's a guitar amp. [editline]07:27PM[/editline]
V:v:V Either way: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Standard-Electric-Bass-Guitar-Sunburst/dp/B000OR7QM4/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256508983&sr=1-4 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gibson-Baldwin-Guitar-Amplifier-Studio10S/dp/B001RHDC6O/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256509200&sr=1-5 http://www.amazon.co.uk/QTX-Guitar-Lead-3-0m/dp/B000LAY8MK/ref=pd_bxgy_ce_text_b £150.89
Also, shitty Fender copy.
That's a guitar amp.
:v:
Oh christ, that amp cannot be good at all, save up for a decent amp, the amp decides the tone you can get.
buy a squier p-bass DO IT
I'd strongly advise not getting that pack. for one, with starter packs, you usually never get anything good. Especially the amp and assorted things. for another, I'm sure you could get a used Ibanez GSR or Squier Jazz or Precision bass, and maybe a halfway decent little combo for not too much more than that. Although I'd recommend investing more money into it. [editline]12:41AM[/editline] http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/71858 http://www.guitarampkeyboard.com/en/rb-3/69084 There's a nice setup for only 279 quid. [editline]12:42AM[/editline] A lot more than your pack, but again, You really should put your money into this from the start.
I suppose this is going to be the only semi-decent kit I'm gonna get for a low-ish price?
If you're looking new, yes. However, you can find some killer deals if you look into used stuff.
Yeah, I've been told to look into used kit. I'm not sure that I'll get anything local (small community, but I can still look). I'll have to check eBay and such, and any other sites that can be recommended.
You can always try renting a bass first to see if you like it.
I'll check the music shop for that, but I'm not sure if they do it.
Can somebody explain to me why bolt on necks aren't as good as glued on ones? does a bolt on neck affect sound/tone?
This is my baby, some of you have seen it before.
I remember your thread. - Is there a website or something where you got that pick gaurd, would they do Les Paul ones?
They probably would You'd have a a little less to work with, compare a SG pickguard to that of a Les Paul
Can somebody explain to me why bolt on necks aren't as good as glued on ones? does a bolt on neck affect sound/tone?
I don't think I could use a glued on neck, i'd be worried incase the tension ripped the neck out, and i suppose the bolts would effect sustain
Jesus christ fucking awesome!
What is this I don't even.
Who the hell designed that
Gretch?
But that's the thing about electric guitars, they can be any shape you want them to be, that's the beauty of it.
Who the hell designed that
Wow. I reckon I could become a guitar designer now.
It's one of Bo Diddley's custom Gretsch guitars. He's a legend, but I think the guitar looks like total shit.
Who the hell designed that
Poor delta-bluesman, most probably.

I get to go pick up my Ibanez RG7620 from the post office after the longest hour of my life...
Okay, this question goes out to all you strat players in this thread, do you have your tremolo floating, flushed or blocked? And how many springs do you have? I myself have the tremolo flushed, with 5 springs.
Who the hell designed that
Saw that guitar on an advertizement for wah-pedals. A guy was surfing while playing that guitar, and there was a wah on his board.

Hopefully my guitar should come within the week. I kept sending emails to the guy asking when he would send it and he wasn't replying so I just sent more emails but then yesterday he emailed me saying he was delayed because his mother in law died. I feel really bad for harrassing him with emails :(
New guitar  Behold; my new (old) Ibanez RG7620 '99 It is a beast.
