Man, I want a ukulele for christmas, but I need a question answered by a uke player, do ukuleles normally come in 4 string or 6 string?
I think the average is 4 string.
I've never seen a uke that isn't 4 string.
get an 8 string ukulele [editline]03:14AM[/editline] and then tap like a motherfucker
So, Mum's agreed to get me a bass for my birthday, (5 days before xmas) and we're going to a place tomorrow to have a look around, anyone got any recommendations? (I've never played bass before)
Cort GB series Warwick Rockbass Fender/Squier Precision Bass
Ibanez GSR200 Squier Vintage Modified Jazz/Precision Peavey Millenium BXP Yamaha RBX 270 or similar
ESP-LTD make some good low-end basses, I believe. I love mine, anywho. They're worth checking out.
I'm pretty sure this is the website for the store I'll be going to, so have a look through that too if it helps. http://1128035.cp.domaincentral.com.au/www.pnb.net.au/Home.html [editline]06:19PM[/editline] Actually, that website doesn't show much....
You should avoid getting packs, my friend said that after buying his bass in a pack he regretted it you should make you're own selections on gear, get a decent amp or at least have the amp as a high priority to the actual bass itself. I'll give you my friend's msn if you want, he could give some advice.
We got awesome packs available in our local store Samick AV-7 and a Roland Cube 15X For 508$ :smug:
Does it matter whether it's a 4 or 5 string if it's my first bass?
I'd start with a 4-string. I don't see a reason to go 5-string when you are beginning.
I thought so, figured I'd ask anyway.
If you start with a 5 string then 5 strings will seem natural. I see no downsides to starting on 5.
Is anyone other obsessed with weird rhythms? It seems that I can't even enjoy playing 4/4 anymore, I want more challenging time signatures and rhythms all the time.
If you start with a 5 string then 5 strings will seem natural. I see no downsides to starting on 5.
Huh, I guess that sounds reasonable. Meh, we're just having a look around tomorrow (technically today, but whatever) I'm pretty sure I won't be making any sold decisions about which bass until the 10th of next month.
Is anyone other obsessed with weird rhythms?
Cause I'm a musical dunce and a retard in general i don't know anything bout time sig's, but what i know is i prefer shit that's in a weird assymetrical time signature
You should give Meshuggah a listen, almost every song from them is in 4/4 (the usual pop/rock song time signature) but they use cycling odd time signature rhythms in top of the 4/4 beat and it sounds very weird but awesome too at the same time.
Bought the bass today (sort of, we had to have it ordered in) I got the "Deep Purple" one.
That amp looks hella small for a bass amp. The element can't be more than 8", it's gonna sound pretty thin.
I probably won't notice the difference...
I think SX are supposed to be okay. You should probably get a new amp, though.
Does it matter whether it's a 4 or 5 string if it's my first bass?
probably not You'd have a bigger range of stuff you could potentially play but as somebody who just starts I think four strings would be enough Guage it on quality vs price and then make the decision Edit: dw you've bought it already
Well we had to put a deposit on it to have it ordered in for us. So the decision has already been made.

Can I somehow plug an electric guitar into a computer or some other kind of speaker system and play it through them instead of an amp?
http://www.firebox.com/product/2002/USB-Guitar-Link?via=ser No idea how the good the programme with it will be but thats definitely a way to connect your guitar to a computer :v: EDIT: oh christ its a behringer
Awesome, thank you very much
I had a dream about controlling a plane-helicopter-thing with a guitar - by creating music. Was pretty cool. Also first dream I've had that included music/sound.
