What's with all the hate on the Iceman!? It's a fucking awesome guitar.
I looks horrid, I don't even care how good it sounds.
I looks horrid, I don't even care how good it sounds.
Hurf durf, looks are way more important than the sound :downs: I hate people like you. I got a P44 version of this guitar. The model is rather radical looking, but it plays better than many other guitar out there. It's not hard to make a good looking and nice sounding guitar.
It's not hard to make a good looking and nice sounding guitar.
Only one thing that matters. The Sound. I would play the Cockcaster if it had a good tone to it.
Only one thing that matters. The Sound. I would play the Cockcaster if it had a good tone to it.
Nice job reading it without reading it. I said you can have guitars that look good and sound good. Here's a simplified scenario for you: - There's two guitars, both have the same hardware, and tonewoods, so they sound identical. One is gracefully shaped, not too jagged, and not too smooth. The other one looks like an absolute pile of wank. Which one would you get? Edit: Shape does not contribute much to the sound a of a guitar (unless the shapes are really drastic) ugly guitars are usually made by an uninspired individuals who think it's as simple as "random bandsaw cuts + good pickups + maple neck = PROFIT!" the fun of making guitars is mainly making something that's nice to look at (most people don't build their own hardware). Sounds and Looks are not related at all, so do everybody a favor and buy a good looking guitar, sound is not the only thing that matters.

It is not the main point, but that's not to say it doesn't matter. Personally, I think you can't have a nice looking guitar that sounds like shit, it's not worth buying, but it works visa versa, too. A fuck ugly guitar with good sound is crap too, at least with the nice looking guitar you can change out the pickups and swap necks.
Mine kinda looks like this: Couldn't find a pic in gunmetal finish. Edit: That's a BC Rich 7 string Warlock. They aren't made anymore, from what I've heard.
Already shown a pic of my guitar, but i'll do it again and list the improvements im planning to make. I'm thinking im gonna get some new pickups, probably bare knuckles. Gonna get a graphtech supercharger kit, i've heard it performs miracles. And my friend has said that he will do some crazy shit to the neck joint to reduce it's size so i think i'll do that.
And my friend has said that he will do some crazy shit to the neck joint to reduce it's size so i think i'll do that.
Size of what? Do you mean the length of the guitar? Because that'd be a really bad idea.
Sell it and get a 7-string version.
The downsides of a 7 string really outweigh the benefits.
The downsides of a 7 string really outweigh the benefits.
Not really. If you know what you're doing, it's a great little add.
I'm getting a hollow body later on in the year. Thinking of either an Epiphone Casino or a Gretsch low level Electromatic. which one would you guys recommend?
Not really. If you know what you're doing, it's a great little add.
Not everybody plays rough metal 24/7 you know..
I'm getting tired of using regular slinky strings because the treble strings go black and get this horrible feeling to them and they stop being smooth to slide your fingers along. Are there any kinds of strings that stay better for longer? I've only ever used slinkys you see.
The downsides of a 7 string really outweigh the benefits.
And those are?
Sunburst looks beautiful on an acoustic.
And those are?
it takes longer to tune
Not everybody plays rough metal 24/7 you know..
Way to generalize. You can get some pretty awesome stuff going with a 7-string, without it being heavy metal.
on the looks vs sound argument that was going on it's all personal opinion. yeah, you need a guitar that sounds good and looks good, but everyone has their own opinions on what looks and sounds good. a guitar needs to suit what YOU like, not what others think
Hurf durf, looks are way more important than the sound :downs: I hate people like you.
Maybe you should read the thread.
Size of what? Do you mean the length of the guitar? Because that'd be a really bad idea. I've never seen anyone with their extra 7th string being a high string myself and to be honest the lower one would be more useful. I fail to see the bad or moronic side of having extra range.
Not everybody plays rough metal 24/7 you know..
*raises hand* I do, or at least attempt to, but still theres no point in a seven string. And yes I have listened petrucci, he is an amazing guitarist, but still I dont want a seven string, I'm still learning so for now i'm content with six strings, i just need a new set of strings so i can play.
I'm not sure if your post is with me... or against me...
With you as u said ur still learning, master ur 6 and then add another one to ur collection if u feel bored and skilled enough
Fantastic how everybody ignored my question. :v: So here goes again:
I'm getting a Line 6 POD Studio UX1 and Guitar Rig 3 (not too sure about software choice though) Is the pod the right thing to get when it comes to playing and recording guitar on a PC?

Fantastic how everybody ignored my question. :v: So here goes again:
I've got it, it sounds alright. When recording the quality isn't perfect though, it sounds far better just through the amp. It's OK.
