Way to miss the point. I'm not saying telling everyone to go faster. I'm simply saying if you remove speed limits people that want to go fast can go fast, people that want to go slow can go slow.
Speeders exist because they're good at it. If they weren't, they'd all be dead. I'm saying let them speed if they want to, let them concentrate more on the road instead of concentrating on not getting caught.
And by the way:
A 2005 study by the German Federal Interior Ministry (Bundesministerium des Innern) indicated that Autobahn sections with unrestricted speed have the same crash record as sections with speed limits.
You must uh.. be special.
But I'm one to be slow assholes, GO RIGHT. Im sick of seeing Wi or Ia drivers going speed limit in the LEFT LANE. I have an awesome ability of landing these assholes in the summer, so their AC doesn't work, and I got a clear shot for me to land either a cigar or cigarette in one of their seats, if not their lap.
When that happens, have the git go disappear. My car alone, can jump from 55 to 150 in a matter of about 6seconds. Depending on how I hit my gears. If you got a slow ass car, like your grandmas Corisca... don't try this. Throw a 3800 in that atleast!

Don't use Google translator???
No speed limits in America would fuck shit up fast
Put fast drivers on the same roads with slow drivers
are you mad
I completely agree with OP.
- I get to concentrate on the road and my surroundings instead of my speedo
- I get places faster
In the long run I think it would actually be as safe if not safer. Look at the German autobahns, they have similar crash numbers to similar roads with limited speeds.
Put fast drivers on the same roads with slow drivers

That's why highways have 5 lanes it's to separate the 2 opposites and everyone in between.
I completely agree with OP.

Why are you driving with a speedo
That's why highways have 5 lanes it's to separate the 2 opposites and everyone in between.
Not everyone can change lanes quick enough, and not everyone is looking in their rear view mirror for faster drivers constantly
Human beings aren't stupid.
You can come out from under your rock now.
They're not going to see a no speed limit sign and decide 'HMM I guess that means I should gas this shit to 150!' People won't drive faster than they feel safe, it's simply your nature, makes you want to avoid danger.
You've obviously never been on a goddamn Interstate in a large city doing the speed limit while people blow by you at 80 mph. Or on a city street on a busy day when you're doing the speed limit when suddenly this jackass flies right past you.
If there were no speed limits there would be no need to be constantly on the watch for cops, making speeders significantly safer.
How would lack of police make you safer at all? If some cars on the road were acting like dicks and were nearly causing accidents, and there were no cops around to force them to stop, isn't that death waiting to happen? How the fuck would that make anyone feel safer?
The same logic exists for speed limits, just reversed. In the beginning (Stupid) people might be excited about it and gas it above their limits, but overall it will settle out as people get used to it. This would only apply on highways, as going 70 on a residential would be dangerous to pedestrians.
What you're forgetting is that brake lights and speed limits are not the same thing. Sure, window lights are easy to miss, but there's probably going to be some asshole doing whatever the hell he wants on the road because the lack of speed limits would be easily abusable.
I'm simply saying that human beings are smart enough to manage themselves, and I believe were smart enough to drive safely without speed limits telling us how to.
If I may reiterate, human beings probably aren't smart enough to drive anymore. On the way to school every morning I see road-retards everywhere.
TThe positive effects of this wouldn't just be getting places faster. It would remove a lot of wasted manpower, like police hiding in bushes trying to catch speeders, speed cameras, etc.
Because exchanging every last bit of safety with the ability to reach places faster is logical.
Why are you driving with a speedo
Not everyone can change lanes quick enough, and not everyone is looking in their rear view mirror for faster drivers constantly
Hurr hurr for anyone else that wants to be funny I obviously was referring to the speedometer.
Seriously in places that have speed cameras I spend half the time looking at that instead of the road. I think that's more unsafe than going 140km/h (honestly I don't think I'd want to go much faster than that, at least in my car) in an area currently limited to 100.
How to make traffic safer:
Make it illegal to drive slow, small, and shitty old cars in the highway. (My Jag is like a smooth train in the highway, whereas driving my friends old, shitty, smallest Fiat made me feel that the grim reaper was in the backseat)
3 laned roads, where 1 lane has a speed limit, and you got to drive it if you are planning to go 120 tops, or have had a drivers license for only 6 months, or driving a truck/bus/tank.
Wider roads are needed for higher speeds.
Death penalty for fucking tailgating at over 120kmph

The Autobahn is basically a straight line that occasionally turns a few degrees
Not everyone can change lanes quick enough, and not everyone is looking in their rear view mirror for faster drivers constantly
No one needs to look in their rearviews for fast drivers. If someone is coming up from behind you going 20mph faster than you it's not your responsibility to speed up it's their responsibility to change lanes to the left.
And if you can't change lanes quick enough you shouldn't even be driving on the highway. Imagine a highway, it's moderately small, it has 3 lanes. On the right most people usually drive under the speed limit, it's for slow cars and getting off/on. The middle lane is for driving the speed limit, and perhaps a few miles above. The left most lane is for people that want to drive fast. It's not like there's a 50mph difference between the lanes, at most the middle lane might go 20 miles faster than the right which is manageable, and if for some reason the middle lane / left lane speed differential is 50 mph, there will be plenty of room between cars for you to squeeze in if they're driving 100+ miles an hour.

Roadsigns inform you of turns up ahead, if you're to dull to notice them you shouldn't be on the highway.
And what is 'not everyone is that sensible' supposed to mean?
Walk up to 100 people on the street and ask them to give you a straight answer to the question 'What do you do when you see a turn in the road/intersection.

Just because irresponsible drivers crash their cars doesn't mean everyone should lose their rights. Let those that can't handle it stay in the slower lanes.
It's far safer now and we get heaps of accidents, why would you want to lift the current safer limit and expect people to rely on common sense? That's a deathwish

Based on the amount of dumbasses we have on the road toady, approximately 25% of people driving would probably have their license revoked then if this was a real law.
Speed limit on the interstate is 65. 15mph difference, how scary
Not to mention people can go faster than that.
Thing is, removing all the speed limits would only increase the amount of unsafe/reckless driving.
What do you classify as unsafe/reckless driving? I mean really, make a list. I can only name
1. Weaving through lanes to get ahead of other cars.
2. Tailgating
3. Drunk Driving
4. Speeding
Now, lets break this down.
#1 would be pointless. Nowadays people go the speed limit on just about every lane. This way, people that speed get stuck behind a driver going the speed limit, and merge lanes to get ahead of him. If we employ a strict left to right lane speed left being fastest and right being slowest, there would be no need to weave between cars, just get in the lane that matches your speed and drive.
#2 would also cease to exist. If you need to go faster, merge lanes to the left. If you're in the very left lane and people are on your ass, merge to the right and let them pass. Or get out of the left lane altogether if you're gonna be slow.
#3 could still exist, there's no way to get rid of it with conventional methods.
#4 would cease to exist, as there would be no speed limits.
As you can see, removing speed limit would reduce Reckless driving, not increase it.

Answer me one question. What do the thousands of cop cars that sit at the side of the road every day do? They catch speeders. That's it. They can't tell if someone's a drunk driver, why? Because it's almost impossible to tell if a car is drifting side to side when it's perpendicular to you going 65 miles an hour. They don't catch people weaving in and out of traffic either. In their one spot they see a small part of the road. To them it simply looks like a lane change. They don't catch tailgaters either. How many people do you know that have been pulled over on the highway for tailgating? 0.
The only thing those cops do is catch speeders. If we remove the need for them, they could go to work patrolling the highways. As I described in the earlier point, removing a speed limit would reduce reckless driving. With thousands of cops now added to patrolling the roads themselves, it would significantly reduce the number of reckless drivers.
