Man those animations are completely hideous.
It's kind of amazing to see how badly they've fucked up. They made some bad games, some good games (SBCG4AP), but then they made the walking dead and blew everyone's fucking minds for like a whole two years. It was the greatest shit ever, sold like hotcakes, and launched them to basically being god kings of adventure games now and forever in people's eyes. And then they turned that around, and somehow fucked it all up, and now from what I can tell all they make is cheap, shit, licensed adventure games on an outdated engine. It seems like the only thing they have going for them now is, HEY, WE'RE TELLTALE, WE MADE THE WALKING DEAD, WASN'T THAT GREAT, BUY THIS NEW GAME PLeasE
I'm almost certain that Walking Dead and TFTB were actually flukes and they have no idea how to make them work anymore
As far as I'm aware, two main writers involved in making TWD and it's characters so great left Telltale shortly after TWD released and went on to form another game company (play firewatch if you haven't already. the writing is brilliant.) So it's obvious that without these two writers Telltale couldn't depend on making another emotionally engaging experience, so they had to try another angle. Comedy worked well for their TFTB, but it seems to be all they're capable of doing competently now.

TWDs1 used lots of really simple emotional tricks to get people more invested in the game, but they only worked as well as they did because A) it took time for people to catch on and B) most people could get invested even without them. Telltale keeps using these same tricks over and over but they're never going to work as well as they did the first time and they won't work at all if there's nothing else that gets the player engaged.
Eeeeehhhh no thanks [editline]18th April 2017[/editline]
space cop reference at 0:21 fellas
The Nova Corps are quite literally space police
This sucks a lot. TellTales surely is making me so excited for their games, right.
"tangled up in the bland"
The three games that stand out as good in the telltale library are The Walking Dead, tales from the boarderlaands, and The Wolf Among Us, and all of those are only good as whole experiences. Certain episodes (early in walking dead and late in Wolf Among us) are sub par at best. But the thing is that aside from those few everything they've put out has been completely uninspired and bland that just makes the source material feel like it's being underutilized. Truthfully, did anyone really enjoy the Sam and Max reboot all that much? How about the Monkey Island reboot? Batman? Strongbad's game? Back to the future? Jurassic Park? Game of Thrones? All of them play exactly the same and the writing is par at its best. The only game that seemed to break the mold (and wasn't poker) was puzzle agent and the only thing different about that was inserted puzzles that could have been taken from a book. Telltale is not a great game company and it really confuses me why people like them so much.

I used to like TTG but everything is literally the same now. Episodic content (wherein many of the episodes are not released on time), stiff animations, forgettable characters (even when using non-original characters), an engine that remains largely unchanged, cliffhanger endings whose sole purpose is to milk X franchise even more, a "choice" system that doesn't really affect how the game plays in any significant way... Play one, you've played them all, kinda.

It was fresh. Nobody else were making games like they were, and they weren't some greedy AAA games developer trying to basically scam you out of your money for a game you can find in better quality elsewhere. Somewhere down the line, Telltale got greedy as well and started believing they can get away with reprinting the exact same game over and over again, because that one episode in Walking Dead was really well recieved and everyone loved it. And then it simply wasn't new anymore.
Oh boy! Another game that'll probably end in a cliffhanger never to be continued like TWAU and TFTB! [editline]asdf[/editline] i just realized someone already said the exact same thing :glare:
Tales from the Borderlands ended, there was no cliffhanger.
How is the ending of TFTB not a cliffhanger?
How is the ending of TFTB not a cliffhanger?
Because there is nothing else. The Story is concluded, there is not much important that will await the characters after [sp]opening the vault[/sp] there are no loose ends, no open conflict, it's as completed as it could get. Goal was reached, there was a very calm epilogue, everything went down fine and you were happy with the end the cast reached, there is nothing else.
At least rocket sounds good.. And at least there will be fans that will rip the models so other fans can make content... [sp]I also showed this to my mum when it came out on April 1st and she said it looked terrible[/sp]
Honestly Star Lord here looks like every other TT game character that's come out. The one time anyone has done Star Lord justice is right here on this site and no one knows what become of it. [t]http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2014/250/2/f/_wip__gotg__star_lord_by_the_fat_corgi-d7w9uti.png[/t] Among his other projects. :v:
is it possible that's from the MH game? [editline]19th April 2017[/editline] Also they probably don't want it to look *exactly* like Pratt for a reason, not even Draxx looks like Bautista. Starlord's movie costume has been accepted as his comic costume going forward so its possible these are actually meant to emulate current comics
Truthfully, did anyone really enjoy the Sam and Max reboot all that much
The first two games were pretty "eh", but Devil's Playhouse is the best of the 3, and is one of my all time favorite PnC games. Poker Night 2 gave me hope they'd do another S&M game since they updated Sam and Max's model and textures for that game. I was sadly mistaken.
oh boy can't wait for telltale to start another series that will end in a cliffhanger, and never resumed.
I'll never forgive these bastards for The Wolf Among us.
I'm almost certain that Walking Dead and TFTB were actually flukes and they have no idea how to make them work anymore
The Wolf Among Us is excellent though. I think the clear answer here is that Telltale has gotten so far in over their heads, taking on countless projects at once. So the quality is clearly going to go down.
I wasnt aware there were people who didnt like the sam & max games
