Don't. The person used phished credit cards to purchase the gift codes online. It's really easy, and any idiot can do it. It may work if you order something from amazon fast enough that the person whose credit card was charged notices. Generally, once it is in transit, they can't do much.
Get him to buy you whatever stuff you want then send him the money so if they are phished you might not get in trouble.
