Don't wanna sound like a bore, but make sure you do it before you start drinking yourself! Alcohol and fire is not a good combination.
But otherwise I agree, people are usually easily impressed by it. When I was newer to this I just danced around in different directions without really doing any tricks and people still though it looked good.
Oh believe me, I'm WELL aware of this, back when I first started I tried to spin while mildly intoxicated and burnt the SHIT out of my neck. Now whenever I spin at parties I make sure to start drinking AFTER and not before.
I actually have friends who do this every year at Burning Man, it p. awesome

OH MY FUCKING GOD I WANT TO GO TO BURNING MAN SO BAD.
But I live in North Carolina and tickets are like 350$, it would be a near thousand dollar trip for me.

How do they enforce tickets
Do they fence off the entire desert

Beats me, but it's an entire festival centered around lighting a giant wooden man on fire, I'd be concerned as to what they would do to me if I was caught without a ticket.
Also I just ordered some contact grips for my staff so I can learn to defy gravity.
I saw two guys perform this when I saw Cirque du Soleil
It was FUCKING INCREDIBLE!
I have a friend who has some of these in his bedroom. Must ask him to show me how they work, and how good he is at using them.
i would probably fail trying
It's really not that difficult to learn, at least with staff once it gets spinning the momentum of the staff makes it pretty easy.

Also I just learned how to do this.

I saw one guy do fire poi once, It looks really cool.
I would probably end up setting myself or someone else on fire if i tried that.
You forgot fire whips

I think the biggest danger isn't the fire whip, it would be the constants pesky wizards trying to get you back into the mines of Moria.

So guys, I just got back from Wilmington, my fire staff is the single best wingman I will ever have at a party.
