Finding people who don't appreciate life enough, taking them and pretty much torturing them
This is some SAW shit
Everything but the sleeper move on the bus seemed legit to me
All he did was cover his face, what the hell happened

The fact that the guy was clearly in a panic and stressed mixed with a side-order of some guy appearing out of nowhere, covering his face, and telling him to sleep.

I was thinking the exact same thing :v:

Do you really think Derren would be dumb enough to use an actor with public online profiles and not even use a fake name?
Thing is that he was "taking everything for granted" thus losing his own personality. Derren himself said something like this on the video, Steven still acts like a child sometimes. What reason is there to live for if you're just a walking, consumist machine? This is the point of the episode, I guess. Break up routines etc, not just desire what you already have.
The point is that it's his choice to live how he wants. You only get one life, nobody should tell you how to live it.
Do you really think Derren would be dumb enough to use an actor with public online profiles and not even use a fake name?
I highly doubt it aswell, but it's never an impossibility.
It really surprises me how many of you don't see how fucking awful and wrong this is to do to someone. Regardless of how the guy was living, putting him through this sort of life altering thing is terrible.
Looking at that Twitter account though... that's definitely him.
"2 time marathon runner, 2 time players player of the year, South Bucks Youth League Subsiduary Cup Finalist. Not Overtime's 2009 Trucker of the Year."
That doesn't sound like the same person shown in the show. I don't think the selfish prick who takes life for granted is going to be the same guy running 2 marathons. Also strangely, the two people other people in the picture on the twitter account look like Matt and Jake, the people interviewed in the show.
I'm not sure what to make of all this, it doesn't make sense in a lot of ways.

You don't have to put a lot of effort in to fool a bunch of dimwits
Don't take it personally, this isn't aimed at anyone...It is a general remark
This is so painfully obvious that it's fake that it hurts, hypnosis is achieveable, yeah but it takes a long time and the mind has to be clear and relaxed, you can't just get someone all excited then go "sleep" and then they'll pass out, if you could my past relationships woulda gotten along alot better.

welp proven fake

This one is fucking amazing, the start he tells how he picks people and actually shows how he dropped the guy with barely touching him. Also he does this at his live shows, my brother went to one of them and he knocked out the entire audience and did stuff like this to people on stage
It really surprises me how many of you don't see how fucking awful and wrong this is to do to someone. Regardless of how the guy was living, putting him through this sort of life altering thing is terrible.
He agreed to doing a Derren Brown experiment.
None of this adds up.
Knowing Derren Brown... I'm starting to think he orchestrated those profiles for "Steven". This is what Derren does, he makes you question what parts of what he does are legitimate and which are half-truths or permitted lies.
Derren has always been a meticulous genius, I just can't believe that he would use such an apparently public actor AND use his real name and location. I mean think about it, Derren gave us everything we would need to find him. Surely he couldn't have been ignorant to the fact that Steven had online accounts or that in this age of information people would track him down 10 minutes after the show aired with his name and location revealed.

I don't know why I'm even posting here. No one but Scotchair seems to actually understand what Derren does, the rest of you are just the reason why what he does works.

If he's an actor, which, he looks to be, then he's obviously not as selfish and lazy as he's depicted in the show.

ANYONE could have made that profile. Heck I bet whoever wrote that article made it.
ANYONE could have made that profile. Heck I bet whoever wrote that article made it.
Using webcache, there's snapshots of his profile from a while ago, which includes more information such as which college he went to:
http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://www.professionalpeople.org/actors/uk/view.php?uid=291520
So it couldn't have been made for the article nor after the show had aired, the snapshot I linked too was 2nd of October, the profile is still there with lots of information.
Also where was the show aired? As in, where did the guy live again? It's saying he went to Chalfonts community college.
The show takes place in July. A lot can happen between then and now.
The show makes it clear that "Doomsday" was on the 31st of august this year, so they finished filming a few days after that. That gives him two months to run two marathons and become a finalist in a sports tournament. Don't be ridiculous. Not to mention one of the listed awards is from 2009.

Also, as of six months ago, Steven Brosnan was in a commercial. NEVERMIND, TURNS OUT THIS IS THIS GUY: http://www.castingcallpro.com/uk/view.php?uid=242736

Well fuck, and here's an example of time where they must have stopped filming the "scene" and resumed it later.

They're sitting there on the floor with the vehicles stopped, Ian opens the door and introduces himself. Steven and the girl remain still the entire time as well but the water bottles magically vanish.
God dammit derren what are you doing
Foogooman, where are you getting this from anyway, another forum?

Could've pushed them with his feet you know. Not that impossible.
The advert thing is very fishy however.

apparently it's this man and they just look similar?

No watch the scene back again. Steven would have had all of 2 seconds to quickly move those bottles behind his leg and shift into a completely different sitting position. The girl is sitting way differently too. All this while Ian is frantically explaining the situation and their eyes are locked onto him.
It's super fucking unnatural, there's absolutely no way.

Yes I just read that as well. So at least the commercial is out.
To repeat, that is NOT steven in the commercial.
Anybody notice that in one of the fake TV show scenes one of the presenters knocks an apple off the table?
I saw it out the corner of my eye and found it quite funny
He agreed to doing a Derren Brown experiment.
Doesn't make it any more ethical or right.
To check out the water bottle conspiracy go to 8:20 in part 3
Regardless didn't the whole "hacking" bit sound totally made up?
Oh well, I pretty much knew it was fake from the part where he gets "knocked out". Still, it'll be interesting to watch.
Regardless didn't the whole "hacking" bit sound totally made up?
Not if you did computing at school.
