I you actually read the thread, all your questions would've been answered before you even asked them. But let me sum them up. Only Matt (the guy who shafted JWJ) knew about brohoster sinking, and he even kept the rest of the employees in the dark. Now go read this thread for all the juicy details.
Thanks, I read the first page and the last but I didn't much feel like reading through 9 pages to have a couple questions answered.
haha i keep forgetting that you were a mod
good times.. less mature times but good times nonetheless
No Money back? :(
Read the Original Post. @Kalez: Exactly. @Rayjingstorm: Read the thread. d: EDIT: Man, people reply fast.. Now it looks like I'm just repeating things here ;D
just throwing this out there, I realized the HDD space costs were WAY too high - it's been corrected to now be $2 per GB ($1 per 512MB increment) with an included 512MB (good for most servers)
I always knew brohoster was going to hoe everyone...
have you read the thread goto namecheap YOU CAN NOT GET HELP FROM BROHOSTER CLUB UPTIME WENT "UNDER" AND MATT UP AND WENT
Yes I have read the thread. I don't care if they went under, this isn't my responsibility, I'm not a customer of namecheap, I'm a customer of Brohoster, they don't know who I am. I've looked on their site and I can't even find a decent way to contact them, I can't submit a ticket because I'm not their customer. Also does anyone know any good hosting that isn't JWJ? (No offence but I want to deal with a real, proper, reputable company that hires bored IT workers to do their job this time, I think a lot of young people who start businesses get this self-importance complex that you don't get in the 'real world' drone workforce)
I would love to know what's going to happen to my Auto-charge to my card. How would i cancel it? Would i have to go through the card company which is a pain, or is there no longer any charges? I'm looking to go to LethalDrive, love beta discounts, and people that are actually down to earth.

He's the only one left at clubuptime or brohoster
If you go with lethaldrive, you won't be sorry.
I know, but i'm just a bit concerned with my current monthly BroHoster charge.
I feel ya. And as much as we want to go to LD right away, we just autopaid yesterday to brohoster so thats where most of the payment went that would be going to LD... Damn you Matt!!!
Ahhh and what is this RAM disk business. I've got my preorder down to $40 with 1 gig of ram and about 5 gigs of Hard drive space. Still seems a little high... Are the servers LethalDrive has more powerful than Brohosters? Would I be alright if I brought my Ram down? I don't mean to be a picky dick, I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong or what.
If you go with lethaldrive, you won't be sorry.
Based on what? How many server hosts have you been with? I wouldn't be too hasty to jump to lethaldrive just because it's run by someone you all know. I'm sure JWJ is an awesome guy, but give it a while to see how it goes - you don't have to feel obligated to buy his service just because he has to make a living off of it, it is your money you're parting with. And he the way he's been acting in this thread puts me off "oh yeah, I totally called that, I wouldn't have done that you know..." etc etc, but that puts me off though, maybe I'm just like that - each to their own, do what you like.

Most of the employees from BroHoster are also migrating, it's basically just a re-do of BroHoster from what i understand, and i'm all for that. I love betas, look what minecraft is! Didn't try it before i bought it, just did it! I do understand what you're saying though.

Do you know what else pisses me right off? And I mean pisses me off more than I can say without being banned for being a twat about it? I have to keep checking this thread for new developments. Do you know how fast this thread moves. This isn't a bloody press release is it. This isn't an email. Arrrgh, it just reminds you that you've given your money to mardy little boys who run off if they've upset someone. It really annoys me.

If the price is right, then go with it. That's what I go by.

From what I can tell the full-timers seem very self important ("Look at all the work I did!" - guess what mate, in the real world you'll do the same, and you'll grin and bear it to pay the rent.) and then on top of that, these same employers came in here talking shit about their employer, saying it's all gone to pot and then not really being of much help to anyone. In fact one got angry and told someone to get out the thread. Got angry, to a fairly annoyed customer, over a fuckup, in a public forum. The thing is these aren't people doing this for a Comp Sci uni dissertation, these are people you're giving money to, to do this. I know the whole idea of using a small indie server/web host that no ones heard of is nice, and you feel special, I really did - "Oh, you've not heard of brohoster? They treat you like a bro, not screw you like a ho..." - I used to love saying that, but there's a lot to be said to be using instead a big company that has a lot of money and won't fuck up, even if they don't think I'm a bro. Frankly I'd rather be a happy paying customer.
Oh alright, solid.
but yeah ultimately it is a little higher $, but im guessing thats due to having to start fresh. i would assume prices will drop back to what they were once things pick up.

I do remember him getting mad that the idiot from another server company shitting in the thread though. But anyway, who cares? Why is that an issue? They haven't given me any inclination that they're going just steal my money. I don't care what they do with my money after I've gotten what I paid for. As long as my server is running great and they're there to help me when something goes wrong, I'll pay every month. JWJ thinks competitively, and that's what keeps me coming back.

I don't wanna post a name in case I get the wrong one and upset someone but I think they said they had worked for Brohoster. Anyway just to be clear and I'm saying anyone's just thieving money away, what I mean is I'm going to be more particular about which companies I think deserve my money. Vote with your wallet etc etc. As an example if I'd have known that brohoster would be this flim-flammy about massive events (they didn't email me last time there was an almost-meltdown, and I haven't been emailed this time when there was one) I wouldn't have bothered with them. The reason I don't want to throw my money towards JWJ's new company is because I want the assurance of knowing I've given it to a company that just thinks I'm a number and will have buckets of money to be able to refund me if they have to, and have systems in place for if they ever did fuck up. Do you remember when amazons servers went kaboom for a bit? They were very good about it, a hosting company that used amazons services called zehosting (I've never used them) kept all their customers in the loop. That's what I'm looking for. I don't think I'll get that buying from a startup by a young adult who acts with an attitude I'm not sure I like (don't think you have to agree with me) on an internet forum.

Tyler is awesome. He was the one responding to most of my submitted tickets and he was really helpful.
