Great, I just renewed my TS server a few weeks ago and you know, I kind of thought about not doing it because Jake left.
Sad to hear that you just lost your brohoster job though.
Sorry that you lost your money, man. And thanks.
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
I've got a server with them, or at least I had, what's going on with money and such?
There is none.
Sucks for you and everyone else dude!
Shame to hear AMC. At least you can get back to HL2:SB, but I hope you find employment elsewhere.
Thanks GameDev, you'll probably see more of me in WAYWO now.
Sucks for you and everyone else dude!
Yeah, sure does, man. I'm not mad at anyone though, I always considered Brohoster entirely unstable, so I never looked at it as a reliable source of income. I think I did make my parents proud that I was able to pay off college entirely for two seasons, though, at least.
Alright, cheers AMC, I'll be relocating to LethalDrive now.
I wish there would be some sort of way I could help. Unfortunatley the innocent ones always suffer. I suppose I can only wish you luck AMC. I can help out with some web hosting and that's about it.
My sites are hosted with Lithium Hosting, our parent company Club Uptime, LLC offered employees free webhosting, but I didn't want to be involved with my own company at the time.
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
No, and there isn't.
[editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
Thanks.
So I take it that my transfer to lithium will fail and nothing can be moved? I sure hope I at least get to keep the domain since I do have the EPP code.
Still, this fucking sucks. I hope you find another source of income Andrew.
You were always there fixing everything whenever I broke my website and for that you rock.
Alright, cheers AMC, I'll be relocating to LethalDrive now.
Tell Jake to do shit right this time around. He never fully utilized his staff because everything was headfigure oriented. He can read this from me here, but I'll never say it to his face because he was always so good to me.
I'd never say shit about him, but at one point in time the entire staff was pissed off at him because he wasn't organized and shit, and communicating with the staff efficiently. This is a big part of why he got fired, and no one talks about it. The most you'll hear about it was because of him smokin' weed err' day.
JWJ 1 Matt 0
but this is bad for the decent members at brohoster, being without a job and all, I hope you guys find one soon.
i'll be hiring the entire team back for LethalDrive whenever they want. may not be paid at first but I'm pretty sure we can get up and running quickly due to the fact that 4000 servers just got wiped out.

You, and everyone else can help by holding Jake to high standards for his future company. And thank you so much, I really appreciate everyone's kind words here.
I hate to say it, but I saw this coming from a mile away. I sat back and watched the whole thing play out, and I'm honestly not surprised that this is the outcome.

I love people like you who always stuck around and were legit bros. Thanks man.
Is it just me, or is Club Uptime also down?

I'm surprised it lasted this long to begin with.

Any webhosting needed, just ask. I also got some spare dedicated servers I can lend you until you get back on your feet. They are hosted in the UK though. I can get something up in the US if your interested.

Reminds me of how we used to work in the past. That shit was golden. I'm cool with working under similar conditions compared to BH's early days. You think we can have a LethalDrive Steam staff chat thing again? No one liked jabber at all. The current immediate old staff has been talking in Steam the last few days, kinda like how we used to operate.
Wasn't this guy getting ripped apart like a month ago

I missed those chats.

It's all very different when you're on the inside, but I'm sure you can easily guess how things will turn out from PR.
Just a reminder, I'll respond to every last reply. I'm sorry if I've missed you. It's 10:20 AM in Phoenix, and I still haven't had breakfast.

I can also lend a hand for people who need some temporary hosting, I've got a HexxehVPS Mega in France with some spare capacity running nginx that you can have for a couple of weeks until you get sorted out. PM me if you need a hand.

Go eat breakfast.
To me this looks like somone started hosting, got the help of some teens, calling them employees and got fucked out of his "company" by someone else.
I never followed the whole brohoster stuff in the first place but to me it looks like a few people tried doing something they knew jack shit about and failed.
Now the thing to do is to see this as a learning experience and to view it like this: trying is more than most people do.
The only thing suspicious to me is that this looks like jwj did everything by himself. OP what the fuck was your task?

I'm afraid that chargebacks are highly illegal.

The people who knew what they were doing always kept it going, we never failed. We were the #1 Minecraft server provider selling 150 servers a day at it's peak, only behind Multiplay because they sell so many other games. I made the dire mistake of bringing a greedy backstabber onto the team so I could provide lower prices to my clients. In fact, we still haven't failed - the entire team is just moving onto a new company which is going to do even better.
As far as what Andrew did, he was pretty much my right hand man. Did every single thing I asked him to so I could focus on developing rather than using my developments, as well as working ridiculous hours for me just so our clients could be happy. Brohoster wouldn't have made it half as far as it did without him and it wouldn't have survived a day after I was fired if he wasn't hired back.
