did i mention his road trip is 6 hours?
then we'll keep getting the boxes ready and hopefully we'll be able to reach him when he gets there. c'mon we're not totally down yet!!!
well then the question is why even have a 48 hr time limit at all if they arent going to let us in?
the 48 hour time limit was for the account to be paid or paid in half i dunno the complete details before the servers get wiped out.
well then the question is why even have a 48 hr time limit at all if they arent going to let us in?
From what I understand(from this thread and on minecraftforums) is that the time frame we have is ONLY due to them waiting to wipe the servers and not as a courtesy to anyone. The information is there only because it has not been deleted. Again though, this is just my assumption off reading this thread and minecraftforums.net
exactly. we did try. we were asking for 4 hours so people could get in. but because we a) aren't the owner of the company and b) didn't have the money to pay into the debt, they couldn't do anything.
oh they could, they just dont want to. which, while even being understandable why they said no, its still a dickhead move when everyone got screwed and they know everyone got screwed. and yeah, like you said, it would only be a few hours.
ok dont troll on my question but couldnt softlayer just not be a douche and let us back in for the next 24 hours?
they said they were thinking of it but its no guarantee that they will do it. i talked to them for three hours last night...
well then the question is why even have a 48 hr time limit at all if they arent going to let us in?
The time limit is so as people who simply miss a payment by a few days don't lose all their stuff. It's not to protect the data indefinitely or to allow access to it.
It's nice of them to have given the staff access at all.
I feel bad for asking again, I know you guys are busy and trying to help and stuff, but what about Brohosters non-Minecraft services, will those who had web hosting with Brohoster be able to get their files and stuff back?
i still can't believe that SL knows this shitstorm is going on and aren't at least considering bringing ftp online

from what i understood they didnt, that was all hexxeh god-magic getting access
Hey guys, if we all only download the world folders, plugins folder but skip the jars, config files, .proerities files and .db files. DON'T bother with the JARS, LOGS, CRAFTBUKKIT.JAR and any other easy to find files.

yes i know. but they do have to have their policies as well. i don't like it believe me but i do know if you bend the line for one where does it stop? it's meant to make people wake up and realize their shit, their customers shit is gone if they don't get things handled. you have to uphold your standards and the guy lar talked to on the phone did try very very hard for us. so i'm not mad or upset with softlayer at all, they have a business to run. it's just too fucking bad the owner of bh didn't feel the same way as the rest of us do. cause we're still trying here!!
ter2001, you are a true bro
from what i understood they didnt, that was all hexxeh god-magic getting access
hex, amc, tyler and larry! all working together to try to get this working. even though hex is on a long drive now.

samp when /if you can get in just save the world files. plugins can be redownloaded and setup.

no i meant "SL didnt give access, that was hexxeh" or did they?

Hey man i appreciate what you guys are doing greatly...if you guys just get the rest of the boxes prepped, and when hex is available you can bring them online and we can go at it. I am waiting for the washington boxes to go up :)
amc, do you have hexxeh's cell number or something? can't you call him for the sl password?
Hey man i appreciate what you guys are doing greatly...if you guys just get the rest of the boxes prepped, and when hex is available you can bring them online and we can go at it. I am waiting for the washington boxes to go up :)
that's what they are doing. if we can get hex then we'll be ready to gogogogo! lol
what is brohoster
sounds like a toaster manufacturing company.
amc, do you have hexxeh's cell number or something? can't you call him for the sl password?
sadly we don't. and he is currently on a drive to go camping for the weekend or week or something. so we've tried emailing and we'll wait.
from what i understood they didnt, that was all hexxeh god-magic getting access
Wrong. Hexxeh is using the staff VPN login to allow customers to access their data. It works kinda like this
samp when /if you can get in just save the world files. plugins can be redownloaded and setup.
For bigger servers setting up is one hell of a task. You still need the config files from the plugins folder, just not the jars themselves
amc, do you have hexxeh's cell number or something? can't you call him for the sl password?
Oh come on...you know cell phones never work when you really need them too.
IN all seriousness though i believe they already mentioned trying to do that though i could be wrong. i think what it comes down to aswell though is sure he can talk to them on the phone but who's to say that he has the password actually on him atm?
EDIT
Nvm just saw post above....well maybe i do a different kind of camping but...how will he check his email if he is in the woods... Not to be a downer btw..just stateing my opinion. which is oh noes

ah ok i guess i missed that in the multitude of posts
amc, do you have hexxeh's cell number or something? can't you call him for the sl password?
I don't, I don't know anyone who can contact him, either. I'm not exactly a cool cat around here and have people's digits or whatever, so I'm not sure how much more I can help everyone. I've deployed nginx to most all of Dallas 5, and the rest of our staff has deployed it to San Jose 1 and elsewhere. I believe about 60-200(max) servers will not be accessible, but out of 3707 servers, I think that's better than nothing.
I hate to group you guys by numbers, but in situations like this, you have to save everything you can.
Also, it's not the Softlayer password(s), we have all of that stuff, it's his root SSH password, it doesn't work. I need to connect to brovpn.hexxeh.net via SSH and restart the routing maps through a script he wrote, but the password isn't right.

Yes.
Don't reconnect too often. wait at least 60 secs before trying again. That way there will be fewer wasted connections, and thus more connections for all of us.

Lots of people have smartphones with mobile internet these days, as long as they're not camping in the absolute middle of nowhere, with no signal, then he should be able to get the message.
I guess we just wait till he stops somewhere for a break and decides to check on what's going on.
i'm just checking but are all the servers down at this point? sorry i think they are i just am reading some posts and starting to think im missing somethign here @.@
