They weren't virtual. It would have been stupid to operate entirely under VMs.
Really? Not even the base one was in its own vm even though its taking up every last bit of resource it can get?
wait you're andrew who's the other guy who tried to sell brohoster for nothing
That would be Matt
Wow. You say you can't pay for college now and then you say "Fuck my contract".
Do you not understand that the parent company cannot do anything at all to anyone? They never could. Nearly every aspect of the business was a joke. The most we had were NDAs which couldn't be enforced. The most we could do was legally bind and be on the honor system since suing was never going to occur. Ever.
Really? Not even the base one was in its own vm even though its taking up every last bit of resource it can get?
Everything was basically setup on shared hosting. No virtualisation at all.
Everything was basically setup on shared hosting. No virtualisation at all.
Eh, would be a bit smarter to atleast have it in a VM to prevent shit from hitting the fan even though it would take away some of the power.
wait you're andrew who's the other guy who tried to sell brohoster for nothing
Every time Brohoster was going to be sold, it was going to be sold upon high valuations, so I don't know what you're getting at.
Really?
A good owner. [editline]28th July 2011[/editline] And founder.
Wait. How could an owner be kicked out of his own company?

Ever.
Then working and RELYING on a company like that is pretty stupid isn't it? Hope you make sure you do better next time. Because apparently you provided good service for a while and the whole thing crashed down because none of you teens kew how to run a company or what to ensure when working FOR someone.
The NDA agreement was a fucking joke. I've addressed this multiple times.
Nice. I was yet another customer who got scammed and ripped off. This was only my second month in renting, actually not even seems I was JUST billed for the second month, and now this bullshit happens with no way to get my money back for a new server. Treat you like a bro? What a fucking joke. Unfortunately it seems I wasn't around when it "ran properly" but why fall for the same trick twice?
And do what, have our companies go under because he wanted to sue one person, even if he could, due to jurisdiction?
The fact he tried to threaten me under local law due to having a buddy in the UK was a fucking joke. Also answer my steam message, you've got me confused as fuck.

So I take it JWJ is making a new hosting company? At least that's what I took from all of this, I really hope that's the case.
So I take it JWJ is making a new hosting company? At least that's what I took from all of this, I really hope that's the case.
Already done. Leathal Drive
So I take it JWJ is making a new hosting company? At least that's what I took from all of this, I really hope that's the case.
He has had plans to setup LethalDrive ever since Matt kicked him out of Brohoster.
I'm glad I got out when I did, and managed to get a refund before they changed the terms of service. While I can't say that I'm sad to see brohoster gone, I am sad for the employees. Nobody deserves to have their job disappear like this.
So I take it JWJ is making a new hosting company? At least that's what I took from all of this, I really hope that's the case.
this would probably be a good time to write that thread I've been meaning to write for 3 days now
So I take it JWJ is making a new hosting company? At least that's what I took from all of this, I really hope that's the case.
Yep, and he's taking preorders right now: http://www.lethaldrive.com/billing/cart.php
The fact he tried to threaten me under local law due to having a buddy in the UK was a fucking joke. Also answer my steam message, you've got me confused as fuck.
Sorry, I'm gonna split for a quick breakfast. I was concerned for you and our other friends losing their jobs far back because you guys needed the money more than I do. I only had to pay for college, but I have a fucking home to myself, fully paid off, and I'm only 18, and I still live with my parents in another home anyway. I'm well off. You and the others need income to stay alive, and you know the last guy who got fired? He has to move back now, and his mom can't afford him. That's why I'm worried for you guys.
Well those were prompt replies :v: Thanks guys, I'll be sure to check out for some Minecraft servers.
I don't want to be a jackass I want you and everyone to realize how bad it is to work for a "company" that isn't a company at all.
It was. It was a legally defined company. Registered, and abided by (some) federal and local compliance laws.
Well, that must suck for the employees of BroHoster. Having your jobs disappear like that isn't a way you want to leave a company. Either way, have better luck in your future endeavors.
this would probably be a good time to write that thread I've been meaning to write for 3 days now
Might wanna do it after this thread dies or after it peaks, so everyone can focus their attention on that one, and not two threads. That's why I'm worried for you guys.
Oh god that really does suck for him. You don't have to worry much about me though, I only really needed the money to pay off the £30 rent to my parents and for the trip over to Sweden. My parents have been quite fair to me ever since I jumped but MAN do they nag at other times.
Then why the fuck is there no employee contract and an insolvency operation? The way this thread makes it look is like a bunch of people were paid for their hobby rather than having a real job.
I didn't want to name him for obvious privacy reasons, but yeah. I'm glad your parents are being more fair. I didn't like that they were a bit restrictive in the past, but ya gotta respect your folks, so I'm glad you honored them. [editline]28th July 2011[/editline]
Then why the fuck is there no employee contract and an insolvency operation?
Because we weren't employees. We were "independent contractors" but that was bullshit (we were legally employees), and I had that cleared up with the IRS. [editline]28th July 2011[/editline] Former BH staff could really fuck over Matt by having an audit done I'm sure, but I'm also sure none of us want to go any further with this now that the crippled horse is completely dead.
Get the fuck out. Seriously. Read the thread.
Oh, I read it. 1) You worked for a bunch of douchebags who in the end scammed the fuck out of your customers with no way of getting our money or our files back. 2) You worked for a bunch of douchebags who fired the FOUNDER for what?... smoking pot? Obviously it is more deep than that, but that's not a reason to fire someone. As long as they get their shit done, what's the problem? Again, it's more than that, and obviously the CEO took advantage of the situation at hand, due to his age. 3) You worked for them. I mean, I understand a job is a job, but if you guys knew this was so fucked up, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, or find a new job. Guilty by association. And you come here and tell numerous people to "fuck off." The ones who are paying for your "college tuition." But of course, you seem to only be worried about yourself. It's called Grants and Student Loans; get them, pay them off later. It's not hard. Again, what a piece of shit company. Bunch of thieves and greedy bastards.
