okay guys...we've been talking to sl we are working out a plan. we've agreed that they will not reclaim the servers while we work with them. so at the moment all your data is safe! if someone can also post this in IRC for me please i can't get in there i dunno why. i'm just the typing monkey *g*
Posted in IRC for ya.
Hi guys, first off - thanks for all the work you are doing. My friends and I that use the save file I'm trying to retrieve really appreciate it. I was just wondering if the vpn was still down and how that was going - I haven't been able to get into http://brovpn.hexxeh.net:10047/ for hours now. Thanks! -LittleRaptor

I'm not trying to pressure anyone, its a hell of an issue to deal with and you are all heroes in my book.
Wow, doesn't surprise me. Crappy overloaded servers and non-standard ports. Deserved to go down. Don't expect them to ever come back, because ClupUptime has shutdown too.
okay guys...we've been talking to sl we are working out a plan. we've agreed that they will not reclaim the servers while we work with them. so at the moment all your data is safe! if someone can also post this in IRC for me please i can't get in there i dunno why. i'm just the typing monkey *g*
That is brilliant news! I think all the talking with them finally got through that they aren't the only people that have lost out here.
Well looking at it from SL's perspective they don't have that much to lose. This whole thing is giving them popularity, and when people see that JWJ got low prices they might switch too, and on top of that JWJ may soon order a similar amount of servers (I hope so :buddy:). If they open up access to all the servers it'd just be good publicity for them.
That is brilliant news! So glad to hear SL is being patient with us! Hopefully things will smooth out soon.
SL's hesitation is, I imagine, mostly legal-related. It would be questionable for them to just throw open the contents of all the brohoster servers to anyone to download without even consulting the people who were renting that space and storing data. If they choose to help us, but are delaying, they are probably attempting to come up with a system- probably trying to contact the people who were actually paying for hosting and just letting them access their specific files.

They could open ftp ports for the servers and allow owners in the way they normally get in.
I'm up, what do you guys need to know? We can keep you updated on plans now.
I just need to get an estimate of when the Lethal Drive servers will be up. I know it says the beginning of August, but could that mean a week into August or like the first two days?
Andrew, you mentioned yesterday that some of the staff at CU other than Matt were working on trying to save BH/CU, I was wondering if the agreement you've come to with SL applied to CUs data as well? And if so I don't suppose you have any way I could contact those good staff left at CU that were/are trying to help?

I don't think anyone's heard from any of the CU staff as of yet.
how come brohoster seems to spend less time providing hosting and more time being down and provoking drama on this forum after the first 50 times shit like this happened you would've thought people would have changed their hoster
how come brohoster seems to spend less time providing hosting and more time being down and provoking drama on this forum after the first 50 times shit like this happened you would've thought people would have changed their hoster
Gtfo troll. No one wants to hear it.

When will the backups be back up?

I think you mean 1 (or 2 including this)
erm 50....... I think you mean 1 (or 2 including this)
Three actually, including this one. As much as I hate to admit it, I would have to agree with Generic.Monk here. The first was "Brohoster, providing execellent service for their customers etc. etc." The second was "LethalDrive, providing excellent service for their customers etc. etc." And then there's this thread. To be quite frank, I think one thread would have been enough.
erm 50....... I think you mean 1 (or 2 including this)
And last time, no servers went down. I wouldn't really class this as two separate incidences - the first one was the beginning of the "drama" - and this one is the servers going down and people who were staff at brohoster working their ASSES off to allow customers access to their data. More than what the "owner" is doing, or the parent company - no staff from club uptime have tried to help. Well our data is safe for the time being. Let's see what happens when Hexxeh get's back and reenables everything.
Hell, that thread isn't even locked. Why does this thread exist if that thread isn't gone yet?
This thread is about brohoster shutting down. The other thread is about Jacob's thing
This thread is about brohoster shutting down. The other thread is about Jacob's thing
And the topic couldn't change for what reason? The thread is still about this fiasco in general, so why does it matter?
Andrew, you mentioned yesterday that some of the staff at CU other than Matt were working on trying to save BH/CU, I was wondering if the agreement you've come to with SL applied to CUs data as well? Larry and Brian have been talking to SL -- Nick/Matt haven't been seen or heard from since the day this started. So the odds are, CU is literally dead at this point in time as BH has no access to it's data.
And the topic couldn't change for what reason? The thread is still about this fiasco in general, so why does it matter?
This was a thread to advise that brohoster was gone, by one of the staff members. It wasn't aiming to, nor has it continued the previous drama - just to update customers what had happened (you most likely haven't read the entire thread so you wouldn't know this). It is now a place where the ex staff are trying to get access back to the customers worlds - a far more productive use for an OP in a thread.
And the topic couldn't change for what reason? The thread is still about this fiasco in general, so why does it matter?
what matters is being able to get people back their data. based on your comments i'm guessing you haven't read everything? if you have, sorry. the owner of clubuptime/brohoster failed to pay the bills causing the servers to be shut down. i along with other ex-bh staff and may many community members are busting ass to save the data. so this is what the topic is and will be until we can get things resolved for everyone as best we can. the "owner" is currently on vacation.... (i say that a lot i know but we aren't giving yet!!)
