Companies are trying to steal Brohoster's customers... E.G. Global7Hosting offering some percentage off if you were a brohoster customer... Also, me and my friend need a new hosting company ASAP...
Here is my name: Myhost, LLH (Long Live Host), NCU (Not ClubUptime), Hostologic, Mineologic, Reckless Hoster, HostMan, Hostingman, Hey Host!, M is for Minecraft, GYH (Gives you Host)... :D
If You can get a company going that would be great... I just don't want to leave Brohoster... ahhh, I would go with LD but right now it is too expensive :(.
Cmonkeyy!
So, I only read the first few pages because this is a ridiculously long thread, but are the refunds legitimate or am I out $70?
you can try contacting brian at clubuptime@gmail.com
or
contact your bank/paypal/credit card company and file a dispute. pretty sure they are all aware by now of the situation.
We'll support migration efforts to our new services. I'm not in the business end of things, but I've heard there will be discounts involved.

Thanks a ton it seems to be working! I am however having some issues getting filezilla to work, it gives me the me the message: "ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server" whenever I try to connect. Anybody got any ideas?
Also, if I leave "Port" blank, It acts like it is working until it accepts my password, then it says 500 no services are configured for my username.

Are you making sure that for the port your putting in "21"? The port you would normally use for the server will not work for ftp.

Is there any way we can get a count down page going, If I am able I would like to be on my server when it goes dark. I am not sure when the 72 hours started.

I believe it was about 24 hours ago. I think I finished my 2 liters of Mtn Dew by then so that's when things started getting fuzzy.

Yep, I actually had the port correctly 21. The issue was something else, I'm not certain what, but I seem to have fixed it as I was able to get in and backup my world.

downtime is approx tuesday night 11:59pm central. it may run later but i'm not sure. thought i do like the iea of a countdown...kinda like the ball dropping at new years in ny. we just don't have time to do something like that.
we're all really busy supporting anyone who is still having issues and working our butts off some more on starting our own game hosting company. we're almost ready!!! are you guys?!?!?!!?! wooot!!:dance:

lol awesome i love it when shit works like that!!! the accidental fix is always a plus! glad you got it running
Greetings:
First off I made an account here on Facepunch for two reasons:
1: To thank those involved in helping save all of our data from the big data heaven on the interwebs. amcfaggot, ter2001, and anyone else i missed, You former workers of Brohoster have jumped to the plate and made all of our days much brighter even while dealing with a bigger loss than us. Hexxeh, you sir or ma'am are amazing. Your effort to help us shows just how kind people can be when the chips are down.
2: I needed help gaining access to my servers world (or worlds it turned out LOL) and FlamingSpaz was truly an awesome individual and helped me not only gain access to the information but made a zipped file of everything i needed.
Thank you so much everyone for helping. You really did treat us like bro's! I am still shocked by the kindness shown throughout the events. Thank you all.
Sincerely;
CoMa/Darek
I posted this ticket on lethal drive, if any of you could also shed light on this for me, that would be amazing.
his is probably going to be a long one. I'm sorry if any of this seems strict or robotic, I'm just typing it out and don't mean to be cynical or disrespectful. Honestly, I'm lovin' you guys.
First up. domain name - Where will this be used at? is this just the phrase people will type in to log in to the server on the Minecraft client?
Billing cycle - I assume this means I can pay a little less by paying off future payments.
Being that the Annually ($6.00/256mb), means 6.00 per month if paid annually being $72 per payment.
IP address, Shared, port required means that for a user to access the server, they will need access to their router and port forward to use our server?
where as dedicated, they don't
Is that correct, or am i off.
Location, Will the server be faster for US users if I put the server in Texas compared to France?
How much so, recommended?
RAM - the older server on brohost was stone tier 256, claiming to host 6 players
How much would 256, and 512 hold for you.
HDD space, I have no idea what HDD space is and whats it good for.
Server version, Vanilla and Bucket, I used bucket on Brohoster, would it be easier to just go with that since I have my archived the whole sha-Bang? If I used your managed plug in server which would be better to set up with my previous data.
Ram Disk - Not to sure what is recommended for this.*Server details at bottom of ticket.
Shared and dedicated cores - does this mean if the server (god forbid) goes down, mine would be separate from others? if not then what is it.
Early beta vs. beta done - Does this mean I start now while you guys are in beta, or i start after its been finalized. meaning the server won't be up yet if i chose the later
Managed plug ins - this looks Very nice to have. Someone with you guys will help me get my plug ins to work how I want?
Is this a continuous fee? can i cancel after receiving service. Chances are I won't need it every month,
Now to talk about what I look for in my server.
Currently I have about 8 friends who play some take breaks and what not.
I've never had even 5 people on the server at once. But we're convincing more to join.
I would like to eventually work my way up to at least 10 people at once, running smoothly.
Could I change the settings/cost of what is required for 10 people after I initially install/pay it?
My biggest problem with my previous server was when a player warped to an area that wasn't loaded yet(no one was around it) the server could crash. I want to make sure I have enough RAM/HDD/"whats required" to make it so this never happens. Since Rollbacks are very annoying and can cause trust issues when Spawning items back for players.
Will increasing anything, make it so blocks load quicker, sometimes when warping/spawning or even logging in, a player would have to log out and log in to reload better.Or is this just poor computer specs on the users end?
I know you guys are just starting up and getting the most revenue is important, but alas I am on a budget, until i get support from other players using the server, I won't be able to afford all the bells and whistles.
Alas, I feel as though I'm asking too much, and am just going to get a link to a wikia or FAQ page lol.
I do appreciate what you guys are doing, truly.
Sincerely
Deluxe_Flame.

thanks so much!!! this is why we had to do this....the people who just wanted to play their game have some fun with friends...people like us that got screwed.
totally agree with hex!!! above and beyond he went with us! as have many ofther people. we have quite a few offering to get game data for people - flamingspaz, jedikiller and there was others but i honestly don't remember all the names (please forgive me! 4 hours sleep in the last 36 has me a tad loonie).
lol so you did have fs's help! he's been awesome getting stuff done for people.
this has been quite honestly the most scary, frustrating, maddening, exciting, adrenaline-rushed and exhausting experience of my entire life to date (and i have 2 kids!). though i NEVER ever want to repeat the last few days i would not have missed it! this just shows there are some fucking good people out there!! i'm proud to have been apart of it and bh guys have been unbelievable!!
:brofist: to all!! cause we deserve it!

hey dl...wow thanks for the novel! lol. i'd suggest contacting jwj with your questions here as we/i don't know how he's going to have things setup.
the former bh team has decided to start our own game hosting service so we aren't going to be working for jwj now. feel free though to watch our fb page for future announcements! http://www.facebook.com/Phoenixerve#!/Phoenixerve?sk=wall
Yo uh guys, we've been locked out of the majority of the internal systems by Club Uptime. We still have the ability to assist with the data recovery process via TCAdmin and can access some servers but it looks like nearly all of Dallas 5 has been publicly cut off, San Jose 1 is still up, our Terraria system is up, both Source boxes besides bh-germanygs1 are down, and all of Washington D.C. has been pulled as well.
At this time we've done about all we can and hope that it's been enough.
[editline]1st August 2011[/editline]
I've updated the OP. Consider every system inaccessible. It could be a matter of time before they drop nginx.

WTF happened, did Matt just stick the middle finger to you?
I don't know what's going on at all. You know what I know. We suddenly can't get into anything except for TCAdmin.
WTF happened, did Matt just stick the middle finger to you?
you could say that.
Thankfully I got my files when the servers were up for "72 hours" :)
Thank you ex-staff <3 you all rock.

Has Matt contacted you guys at all during this rescue mission?

out of curiosity, what has he said?
We never bullshit you guys, but right now (and mainly for the safety of your supposed remaining 72 hours) there are just things I shouldn't be discussing publicly.
Kinda sucks because I'd like you all to be behind my eyes, especially since we have nothing to hide.

I understand that with the bs he pulled the last time.
Is it time to watch the crash and explosion yet?
